Someone Knocks... Again.

Jayden said Darkly, “So, Dad still doesn’t have the guts to come to me himself after he left Mom…” His tone became even darker.

Aiden sighed. “Jayden, he just

doesn’t want to face the pain of not raising you and Jad—”

“Yeah, right,” Jayden cut in again. “You were always his favorite.”

“We’re getting off topic!” Aiden snapped, his frustration showing. He quickly apologized, “Sorry, sorry, Jay. Well, as i was saying, I’m here on Dad’s beh—”

Before Aiden could finish, there was a knock at the door. Jayden stood up, his brow furrowed. “Who’s there?” he called out.

Jayden shook it half-heartedly and muttered, “Henry Baylake…” Jayden lied dully

“Hey, can I co—”

“No,” Jayden cut him off. “Will you leave?”

Looking stunned, Jacob mumbled something under his breath and left.

Jayden closed the door and they returned to the sitting room, sipping his now cold oolong tea. Aiden finally spoke up, “As I was saying, I’m here on Dad’s behalf to tell you some news. I’m not sure you’ll like it…”

Jayden raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “What is it?”

Aiden looked him in the eye and said, “You’re a demon.”
