The sheriff was enjoying his cup of coffee. As always it was with sugar and cream. The Sheriff adored latte art on his cup of coffee and fortunately, there were a few good coffee shops in HP that could do it but since humans arrived and traveling to HP trending he became a regular
In Higgs’s coffee shop.
It was a cozy place in the southwest and the sheriff was so happy that humans hadn’t reached here and ruined it like Granday restaurant.
‘Man, do I miss those pancakes’ he thought to himself.
“How was your day Mr. William Beckett the one and only sheriff of our lovely home”
Higgs addressed the sheriff with all his glory.
He was a peace demon who had horns like a ram and curly hair and ran his coffee shop with his only daughter.
“Come on Higgs, I’m not the only man of law in HP,” William said as he took a sip from his hot cup of coffee and smiled.
“No sir, you are not the only one but sure the one who makes monsters and men demons and angels, gods and goddesses shit their pants” Higgs always teased the sheriff when e was in a mood for it.
“Shut up you fool,” William said and laughed. Higgs was the closest thing to a friend for the sheriff and he did enjoy his company but he never would say that to his face, because god knows maybe one day even Higgs would be on the bad side of the law and it would be better if William did not have to call him a friend.

“So how are you dealing with humans exploring further and further?” Higgs asked.
“Not good Higgs not good at all,” Sheriff said “especially after rewards were put on demons’ heads, I’m just glad PDs are doing a fine job compromising with them” He continued.
“The only thing we PDs are good for compromising” Higgs joked.
“Here you go sheriff,” Higgs’s daughter said as she brought William his pancakes.
“Thank you, Perri,” William said and always was amazed at how similar Perri was to her father Higgs, same ram-like horns curly hair, and even the same sense of humor but her beauty was of her mother’s.
“Sheriff, don’t you think you were too hard on Ragdoll? He is one of us after all?” Perri asked.
“One of you? Dear, he is nothing like you PDs. Unlike you chaos demons can only be handled by force and fear and don’t think for a moment excessive use of violence is too much for them in fact for CDs when it comes to the use of brutal force I always say ‘more the merrier’” William was full of an old grudge when it came to chaos demons.
Perri smiled at how William started whining about CDs.
“Made your blood boiling again now didn’t I?” Perri said as she walked back to the kitchen.
“Ha ha… always gets you, sheriff,” Higgs said as he lay lazy on the counter and chuckled.
“Yeah yeah, funny as always,” William said as he finished his pancakes put on his hat, and left the Higgs’s coffee shop but as always tipped Perri handsomely.

“Wiliam, we have a situation in the forest”
“Where in the forest Kate, half of the goddamn HP is forest,” William said through the radio.
“Ten miles to Moonland, massive smoke has risen up to the sky will you check it?” Kate said.
“It’s my job to check it Kate, of course I’ll check it,” William said and cursed under his breath.
“OK, I'll wait for your report then, and please take care, sheriff,” Kate said and always sounded honest and naïve.
“Alright Kate don’t worry I’ll contact you as soon as get there,” the sheriff said “Now what on earth happened in the forest?”
William knew it was humans and knew something bad was waiting for him.
‘Humans and flames I’m just sure chaos is camping for me to get there and swallow me a whole’ William thought as he sped up and turned the blinking red and blue lights on.
