Silence persisted the couple as they sat in an inexplicable awkwardness between them.

"So what is on your mind?" asked Farhan breaking the silence, Alia licked her lips as she smiled shyly.

"Nothing much," she said as she gasped for air. She was having all these new feelings which she had never had.

The waiter came with the food just in time for her to say something.

She closed her open mouth like a fish out of water as the waiter placed the food on the table.

She looked at the food and looked at Farhan, he had got her a salad and chocolate shake which were her second favorite.

A smile came upon her as her feelings for this boy grew more. "Do you like salad too?" she asked as she stared the table down.

"Surprisingly ever since I got to know you like salad I have been craving them" he replied making Alia look up in surprise, their eyes met and locked with each other.

Feelings rose as their eyes remained locked with each other, she had goosebumps from this new feeling. She gasped for air as her heart thumped with every passing second when all of a sudden the romantic moment was interrupted by the waiter who had been standing next to the table trying to catch their attention for a few seconds by then.

"Do you need anything more?" he asked as he waved his hand between them breaking their eye contact. Both rushed to calm themselves down as Farhan said "Pardon?" to the waiter which visibly annoyed the waiter a bit, "Do you need anything more?" he asked in a grumpy tone upsetting the romantic atmosphere that had formed.

Farhan though annoyed decided to let it be as he turned to Alia and asked "Would you like anything more?", Alia shy and taken aback just smiled and shook her head ever so slowly as she bit her lip. Her whole body was tense.

"Nothing more," Said Farhan to the waiter. They had their food in total awkwardness and before they knew it they were out of the restaurant holding their individual cycles about to part ways.

Neither could take the first step to part as they longed for the moment to last forever. They stood there sad about their parting when Aakash came peddling in his cycle in the road across them.

"Oi" He screamed catching the attention of the two love birds. "Aakash?" said Alia in surprise.

All the feelings she had for Farhan till then disappeared in a moment after seeing Aakash's face.

Replacing the spring in her was a hollow void, her smile disappeared as she squinted her eyes in confusion as to why he was there.

Aakash rode his bike towards the two only halting when right in front of them. "How was your date?" He asked with a bright smile, which made Alia feel guilty.

"It was great" Farhan said with a bright smile and furrowed eyebrows.

"That is so good to know," said Aakash as he got down his bike.

"Sorry for crashing your date but her grandmother is worried sick about her," he said as he put his arm around Alia's neck as he smiled at Farhan.

"Oh!" exclaimed Alia remembering how she didn't inform her grandmother.

"Oh no I forgot to tell her, it is not good for her to be worried." She said as she got onto her bike in a hurry, "I have gotta go see you tomorrow at school" she said as she rode her bike in a worry.

"Wait!" exclaimed Farhan bringing her to a sudden stop. She looked back at him when he said "I will drop you near your house it is dark outside, it could be dangerous", hoping to be able to spend at least a few more minutes with her much to Alia's delight.

Alia opened her mouth to accept the offer when suddenly Aakash said,

"Nah man, I have got her, don't worry" much to both their disappointment.

Alia turned her head back facing the road as Aakash got on his bike. "See ya" said Aakash as he started peddling followed by Alia who waved goodbye to Farhan.

As both the friends rode their bikes, silence filled the gap between them.

"You know that I love you right?" asked Aakash much to Alia's surprise. She pressed the brakes on her bike in surprise as she looked at the back of Aakash's head startled and guilty.
