22 Days till the tragedy

It was a rather sunny morning, the light shone on the face of a young girl around the age of 16 through her window, she was beautiful alright, the light shining on her tightly shut eyes seemed to have woken her up. She sat up in her bed still tired as her hair unbuckled and cascaded in the chill breeze that entered her room, she stretched her arms through the shirt she wore as she yawned, and rubbed her eye, she laid back down trying to sleep but it was in vain.  As she sat up straight rubbing her nose she slowly opened her eyes revealing two blue jewels that shone as deep as the ocean.

She was disoriented from her sleep as she sat trying to collect who she was and where she was, "Morning" she greeted the mirror that stood in front of her decorated with a headband and a few sparkly gems.

She rubbed her right eye as she slowly slipped out of the rosy pink bed, she wore the slippers that were neatly arranged at the side of the bed and walked to a white door at the other side of the pink room, and clenched the handle.

"Another day it is," she said as she opened the door to reveal a white bathroom, she went in and closed the door behind her shut. Quite a while passed before she opened the door again coming out with a white shirt and green skirt and on the shirt was a tag that read in bold white letters on a black background 'Alia'.

She is the main character of our story and I am the narrator, you can call me 'the narrator' and what I am going to tell you is a story filled with horror and grief, a tragedy to put it nicely, and let me give you a little background on our pretty little main character, her name is Alia, she is a 16-year-old in the second year of her high school, she loves cats and dogs and any animal for that matter though she is also scared of pretty much all of them except cats, she like waffles for breakfast and nice tandoori for lunch, a divine Indian dish in case you didn't know what a tandoori was. She is currently getting ready for school with not so much excitement, after all, she does hate school. She has one close friend called Aakash they have been friends ever since middle school she is not much of a socialite or is she an extrovert for a matter of fact.

Now back to the story, Alia walked to the wooden door in her room and opened it revealing a small hallway with stairs that lead down, she promptly placed her hand on the wooden rail and navigated her way down the stairs with a steady walk which did not show speck of her disorientation just earlier.

Down the stairs she went, only to come upon an old lady toppling over utensils in the kitchen, 'Clash, clash clash', 5 plates crashed with the floor one by one followed by a metal bottle. "Careful grandma!" she screamed as she ran to the old lady, she went on her knees to pick up the plates that fell as the old lady said, "It is alright dear I can get them myself" only to be met with a  "No you can't you have back problems!" silencing the old woman who gave a worried look to her granddaughter.

Alia placed all the utensils that had fallen to the ground onto the table as she asked "What's for breakfast?" enthusiastically. Her grandmother gave her a slight smile through her worried eyes as she replied "I made your favourite dear, waffles with white chocolate." with that sentence, Alia's face lit up like a thousand bulbs as she exclaimed a thank you to her grandma as her grandma served her the food.

She munched on them like a starving beast as she took big gulps swallowing the food in a moment's notice "That was great grandma" she said as she hurriedly got out of her chair and scurried to get her bag, "I'm running late to school, see you in a while grandma" she said as she waved the old woman a goodbye as she left for the door in a hurry.

Outside the house was a pink cycle leaning on the wall which Alia grabbed in a hurry and left through the gates being in a hurry to get to school as she was running late.

As she rode her bike she came upon a tall guy peddling a cycle to school, he had short black hair unlike herself and brown skin complimented by his oak-like eyes, "Aakash!" she shouted as she waved to him in joy at finding her friend was late too as she peddled faster to reach him.

Through the road with trees on either side, she peddled faster than the falling leaves trying to catch up to her best friend as she clashed against the wind blowing the opposite side.

She scrunched her eyes to protect them from the dust that flew, as she peddled faster to reach her friend who had stopped after having heard her cry.

"Faster!" he shouted hurrying the poor girl more. She huffed and puffed right as she reached him she wheezed and wheezed trying to get air into her lungs as she held his shoulder for support.

"I rode as fast I could," she said through her heavy breathing as the sweat dripped drenching her neatly ironed uniform a tad bit.

"You coming to the trip ?" he asked prompting a nod from his tired friend, "Let's get going we might be late" she said alerting her friend as they rode their bikes quickly through the calm road to their school.
