“Hah… haah…” the Demon panted on the ground, its fists and legs were twisted into strange angles. Ever since he had begun his rampage against the General, the monster paid no attention to the amount of damage his host’s body received, resulting in severe injuries.

“As much as I enjoy watching you struggle, Limperus, I cannot allow you to subject that boy to such torture,” the General scolded. Before anybody could react to his words, he had vanished from where he stood and reappeared before the demon. Staring at the boy kneeling beneath him, the General placed his hand upon Limperus’ head.

“Eat away this being’s sins, Gluttony’s Seal,” with his palm, the General gripped harder at the Demon’s face as strands of violet emerged from his arms. Like cunning snakes, they swirled around his arms and pierced into the fiend’s skull. Agonized screams bellowed forth from the struggling beast. Like a captured game, it could only squirm in pain, unable to take action against its hunter.

“Curse you Grann! Even if you manage to seal me again, I’ll never give up on killing you! Hahaha!” with a face full of spite, the Demon glared venomously at the man who stood before him. He will not forget this injustice against him.

“Steal this being’s fortune, Greed’s Luck,” with another phrase, the General’s body exploded into a golden light, which began to converge into the demon’s visage. Though he had completely suppressed the fiend with his powers, he could not afford to place a half-assed seal on it.

“Destroy this being’s soul, Wrath’s Destruction,” loud roars echoed out into the air, as a trickle of red mist enveloped the ground like clawing corpses. They were the spirits of the dead souls lost in their anger, unable to find reprieve from their death-filled lives.

“Deny this being’s fate, Lust’s Temptation,” chains shot forth from the ground, similar to those of the Mystics, yet it held a much gentler atmosphere. The atmosphere of a cunning fox, or a tricky snake, seducing anyone they touched to bind them forever.

“Dream this being’s lost, Sloth’s Nightmare,” the already chaotic area began to darken. Wails and groans joined the anguished screams of wrathful souls, along with the rustling of chains. The soldiers and Mystics who stood to the side were thrust into complete shock as they stared at the two figures wrapped in the middle of the hectic surroundings.

“Diminish this being’s destiny, Pride’s Reservation,” instantly, the terrifying atmosphere had intensified, as a throne of bones began to rise from the ground. Mangled flesh, soul-piercing eyes and otherworldly faces dotted the throne, which had appeared behind the Demon.

“Collect this being’s debts, Envy’s Touch,” lifting the boy, the General approached the seat of gore and placed him into it. Instantly, the Demon’s already agonized screeches intensified to new levels, as it desperately clawed at the General’s arms.

“I seal thyself unto this vessel to be lost forever within your wrongs, Sin’s Gifts!” with a final roar, the chaotic area seemed to pause, as it began to swirl slowly around the two figures. Caught in the middle of the storm, the General concentrated all his attention at the Demon in his hand. The chains which firmly wrapped around its body began to whip around the throne of bones, fastening the Demon upon it.

Its pitch-black hair began to change colors, from a night shade into light brown, losing the faint blue fires that had dotted it previously. The Demon’s eyes remained a deep shade of crimson, yet seemed to carry a less oppressive atmosphere. On the boy’s chest, the pitch black armor had long since been destroyed by the bondage of chains, shattering it into millions of tiny pieces.

The dark that had been whirling around them began to compress into the Demon, who kept his glaring eyes at the General. Finished with the chant, he had already stood a few paces back from the fiend, watching with great interest as the surroundings grew more oppressive. The faces on the throne seemed to grow life, as they twisted and yelled profanities, while others extended from the chair and bit into the boy’s flesh.

The Demon’s appearance had already disappeared from the lad, as the black tattoos rapidly retreated onto the abyssal circle placed upon his chest. Like agile parasites, they clawed their way underneath the boy’s skin, though several parts were unable to continue, as red maws crashed into them, disintegrating the black into nothingness.

Excruciating screams were constantly bawled from its jaws, yet it could not find any solace from the torture. Not before long, the screams turned to pained murmurs into eerie silence. Tears of crimson were rolling down the boy’s cheeks, as his face was kept warped by the intense amounts of pain he suffered. The black circle on his chest was slowly being whittled down by the golden gas, which surrounded the child.

Suddenly, the chains unraveled from its body and the throne began to sink into the ground, taking along the colorful gasses in the air. The boy only rested on the ground, unable to move or speak. He had long since lost all consciousness, both the Demon and the original host.

“Hah… hah…” crashing down on his knees, the General let out labored breaths, as he kneeled on the cracked stone floor.

“General!” multiple soldiers were alarmed, as they quickly approached him, their eyes filled with worry, along with a hint of craftiness.

“Don’t worry… about it…” the General sighed, waving the disappointed soldiers aside. After moments of resting, his visage stood up once again and approached the collapsed boy before him. From the crowd of Mystics, an old man slowly walked towards them as well.

“Haha, well done Grann. A perfect spell,” his aged voice erupted, once again filling the air with an oppressive, yet healing feeling. It was the elder from the initial fight.

“Grand Patriarch, I still have a long way to go…” with a disgruntled smile, the General replied and then continued his way to the boy. Using his massive arms, he took the child into his shoulder and rapidly disappeared, along with the elderly man. The ordinary soldiers and Mystics gaped in wonder as they blankly stared at the spot the three individuals were. They would not be able to believe what had occurred had they not personally experienced it. And even then, it was difficult for their minds to wrap around the epic battle they had just witnessed.

As the two individuals flashed around the city, the two of them calmly discussed the past event.

“To think that you’ve grown skilled enough to seal an Overlord, it truly makes this old man proud,” the old man laughed; his face full of content.

“I would not have been forced to use that seal if you had helped Grand Patriarch…” the General grunted. He knew that if the spell would have failed, the boy on his shoulder would have been dragged to the Underworld, yet he had no choice.

“It’s all for training. The last time we fought this boy was years ago. I was confident that you would succeed,” another laugh escaped the elder’s mouth. Grann grunted in response; he was too preoccupied with intense amounts of worrying.

In truth, he could have killed the Demon multiple times during the fight, yet he did not wish to lose a potential superpower to bolster his military. If the boy died now, he would have spent all of his energy for nothing. For now, he could only hope that the Medical Bay they were approaching would be sufficient to preserve the boy’s life.

Once again, Nik was subject to another session of healing.

(Before you guys get annoyed, it won't actually be another chapter of "Healing". Just a little blurb or two.

Of Gods and Demons (pt 2)

In truth, the Absolute Faith Church holds more power than any of the superpowers would want to believe. They have continued to expand their horizons, going from the farthest point of the World Nations to the other side of the Frozin Empire. Though many would have been alarmed by the church’s exponential growth, in truth, they did not hold much influence over the military or had any advanced technological creations.

As a result, it was mainly ignored by all three superpowers that ruled over the world. What they did not expect was that the church would be much, much more influential concerning their citizen’s cultures, beliefs and education. The Church was capable of changing an agricultural community into devout worshipers, even if they have not been introduced to any source of religion prior to their arrivals. The Church would be able to shape children’s’ and adults’ minds alike with their fanatical speeches about their “one true god”. And the church was capable of teaching every single individual within their grasps whatever information they wanted.

If they wished for the individual to believe that the sun was actually a ball of water that just glowed in the sky, then so be it. If the Church wanted a group of men to believe that they were actually women, then so be it. Nothing could stop the church’s influential and cunning words that could rival even the most professional of lawyers. Returning to the point, because of how silver-tongued this Church has been, it would not be impossible for them to censor information or even completely falsify anything they wanted.

The Scroll of Larac has been growing into a large scale document that almost every literate person on the planet had read before. The only problem with the Scroll is that it does not abide to the Church’s beliefs; instead it provides massive amounts of proof that the Church’s beliefs are completely wrong. Aside from a few important individuals, every single one who have read the original Scroll were immediately murdered.

Now, I am the only one who is capable of bringing the truth that the Church has been trying to hide for years. There is not only a single God, as they have initially believed. The skies and other realms are littered with these so-called Gods or as the Scroll calls them, Higher Beings. There are as many Higher Beings as there are humans in the three superpowers, yet only a few of them would bother to even show any proof of their existence, but the Scroll is enough evidence for that.

According to the Scroll of Larac, our world has Eight Higher Beings who constantly monitor our actions and are responsible for our own existence. These beings are surprisingly familiar to many who have come from the Christian Faith, which was annihilated by the Absolute Faith Church. Within their book, or so-called Bible, there are seven individuals who were mentioned, who I believe are the Higher Beings: Envy, Pride, Greed, Wrath, Gluttony, Lust and Sloth. As for the eighth Higher Being, not even the Scroll of Larac has any information on it.
