Chapter 8: Spirit Vision
"Now, I have to learn how to Cogitate?" Harry said aloud.
He tried to recall the relevant information.
Harry remembered, "The initial steps of Cogitation are relatively simple. It’s even more so for Beyonders.”
“Just now, producing an object in my mind to divert my attention and turning the energy seepage inwards is actually the first step to Cogitation,” Harry said.
‘I have to try again,’ he thought.
Harry closed his eyes and visualised the halved glass in front of him.
His concentration seemed sharper than before. Soon, random thoughts that surfaced would quickly vanish, leaving only the outline of the glass.
Then Harry recalled more details. It felt like knowledge was pouring into his brain.
“Let your mind go somewhat blank. Replace the object you imagined with something that doesn’t exist in this world, an object conjured completely from thin air.”
“You must follow this rule. Only then can you enter Cogitation and exceed the concept of ‘I.’ The limitless ‘I’ will become one with the universe, allowing you to see and understand the truth. You will gain knowledge that only you can comprehend. In mysticism studies, it’s called a Mystic Experience.”
“Something that doesn’t exist in this world... Would things from Earth count?” he wondered.
Harry decided to visualise an earthy-green intercontinental missile he had seen on television.
He replaced the glass with this long, thick missile.
However, no matter how he outlined or imagined it, he could only manage to focus his attention.

‘It doesn’t seem like it will work…’
Harry let his imagination run wild. He visualised a sphere of light and then many similar objects, gathering them together. The spheres of light stacked upon one another, feeling like objects of fantasy.
Harry’s thoughts gradually turned ethereal and afloat.
His body and mind calmed down. The objects that did not seem to exist, the fog with bright clusters of light, and the complex colours appeared once again. They floated in the sky within close reach.
He extended his spirituality inch by inch, quietly observing them. He sensed and absorbed it.
“It looks like I am successful,” Harry thought.
After that, Harry said, “Let’s try the first ability that comes with being a Seer.”
“Spirit Vision!”
He told Dobby, “Close the window and open the door.”
It made the room darker, but not so dark that he couldn't make out silhouettes of objects.
Harry raised his hands and placed them in front of his eyes, waiting until his eyes adjusted to the darkness.
He saw the silhouettes of his fingers and the surrounding objects.
Then he focused his gaze on a spot behind his hands. He slowly moved his fingers, maintaining the same pose without touching them.
Harry cast his gaze at an empty spot behind his palms. He then slowly moved his index fingers within his vision.
Once, twice, thrice… Suddenly, Harry saw a fiery-red colour between his fingers.
“Eh…” He let out a sound.
Harry knew, “It’s the initial step to Spirit Vision. The colour I see is my aura.”
Harry repeated the process a few more times. After stabilising it, he looked elsewhere.
“All right.” Harry moved his fingers back and forth while keeping his vision trained on the fiery-red colour.
Harry knew that different colours had different meanings.
To put it simply, the mainstream way of mysticism is to divide the non-physical parts of a human into four levels. At its core is the Spirit Body, which is everyone’s basic spirituality.
There is a school of thought that believes all biological creatures have spirituality and a Spirit Body.
The goal of Cogitation and the method to increase our strength is directed towards the Spirit Body.
Outside the Spirit Body is the Astral Projection. It is the means for the Spirit Body to communicate with the spirit world and with stellar space. It’s considered an external manifestation of the Spirit Body.
Additionally, it is directly related to personal ambition and prevailing emotions…
The scenes Harry sees after consuming the potion are scenes his Astral Projection witnesses when it wanders through the spirit world.
That world does not obey the laws of the physical world. It involves exceeding the concept of ‘I,’ the limitless ‘I,’ and the Universe’s ‘I.’ The past, present, and future might be stacked upon one another, and that is the source of divination.
In the spirit world, what someone sees is just imagery, a symbol. It has to be interpreted to understand its actual meaning.
“Divination and many magic spells are cast through the Astral Projection.
One is just a body and the other is for form…” Harry continued looking at the aura between his fingertips and made the simple conclusion.
“Further out is the Body of Heart and Mind. From this point forth, it combines with the physical body… It involves the brain and is an overall manifestation of inferential abilities, analytical abilities, observational abilities, and identification abilities.
The outermost layer is the Ether Body. It is a manifestation of your vital energies and physical form.
“The aura colour is an external phenomenon of the Ether Body. In other words, apart from the spiritual bodies, ghosts, and spectres, it can be seen directly with Spirit Vision. It might also include certain existences that should not be seen.”
Harry said, “I can also see the Ether Bodies of others or their auras. From their thickness, brightness, and colour, I can determine their health and emotional state.”
“When my Spirit Vision impro
ves, I will discover even more details. I might even be able to determine the lifespan of others.”
