Wanting to get the meeting going, Koshi spoke. “Administrator sir, thank you for taking interest in me,” She said in a submissive tone, to show respect to the Administrator's authority. “Though if I may ask, why me?”
The Administrator held up a finger. “Potential,” He replied, his voice carrying significant weight. “I saw something that warranted my attention.”
A sense of joy is set ablaze inside Koshi, “Me?” She thought, maintaining her composure on the outside. “He can't be wrong, especially if it's coming from someone of his status.” She smirked, the word “Potential” repeating over and over again in her head.
“I'm in search of a Demon King, Koshi,” The Administrator said, his voice firm and eyes locked with Koshi's. “Worry not. It matters little if you do not succeed.”
The words Demon King shook Koshi, she wasn't expecting such a high demand from the Administrator. “Even with my supposed potential…. How am I…” Her mind raced with questions of doubts, knowing she'll need to dig deep to actually even comprehend being capable of holding such a title.
She forced a small hidden confident smile for herself, planning to confront this with positivity.
The Administrator fidgeted with his fingers, his attention briefly taken away from the meeting at hand, or so it seemed. “I'll have a test prepared tomorrow,” He said, his gaze fixed on the table.
“Yes Sir,” Koshi confirmed, without hesitation, squeezing in some determination in those two words.
The Administrator's eyes once again meet Koshi's. For a few seconds he stared at them, then nodded, this gesture more so towards himself.
“Dismissed,” He said, calling the meeting to a close.
Koshi got up and bowed. Ko followed her gesture. Before stepping out Koshi gave Niao one more glance.
Niao grabbed a hold of Ko's arm, pulling him into a big embrace, wanting to pull the jealousy right out of Koshi. Yet, this embracing of little Ko made her feel quite warm inside.
“She's lovely,” Niao whispered into Ko's ears. “Remind her, will you?”
Ko paused, unsure of what to say. Niao gently caressed his hair, calming him.
Koshi stood outside the meeting room, slightly irritated by Niao. She held her head high, knowing she has the potential for a very serious position, so trivial things like this shouldn't bother her.
The moment Ko left the room, Koshi gave him a hug of her own. A short, yet sweet embrace.

“Sorry you had to endure that… Just remember Niao's trying to take you away from me. So that's not a nice person now are they?” Koshi said, almost threatening.
Ko chuckled, giving a bright smile. “Why worry… You're lovely.”
Her cheeks turned bright pink. “Of course,” She replied, her voice soft. “L-Let's get going,” Koshi said, too shy and embarrassed to look Ko in the eye.
On their way out, Imuru grew curious about Koshi's emotions on the situation. “Koshi. How are you feeling? About this situation, the previous King… You know.”
She clears her throat, the embarrassment she felt, now at ease. “Okay. What I'm getting at is that the Administrator is looking for someone you can take over… since our previous Demon King, his first master's, decisions lend to his downfall. He got into some argument that turned into a brawl…” Koshi sighed.
“But I'm positive that I'd be able to make better decisions. What makes the Demon King's relationship work is…” She paused, looking for an answer in her head.
Ko stared at her, waiting for her to continue about a subject she knows little about.
Koshi cleared her throat again. "So, Yeah anyways, from this moment onwards I'm aiming for that title. Sounds difficult, but I'm sure I can do it,” She said with a nonchalantly expression on her face, ignoring her slight mishap.
As they reached the exit out of the Administrator's building, they were greeted by the warm glow of the evening sun.
Koshi and Ko feeling that their day is finished, head on back home, taking no time for a night out for themselves as they have a very important test that lies ahead of them tomorrow and they'll need their strength.
Koshi opened the door allowing Ko to enter first, a gesture Ko is yet to repay.
Heading to the bedroom Koshi sighed, her kind racing on what the test could be. Having a feeling that it may be an obvious test of strength.
Ko jumped onto the bed, not so much worried about what tomorrow brings. Koshi smiled and made her way onto the bed, her mind much the opposite of Ko's.
“It's naive… But will everything be okay?” Ko asked, his voice betrayed with a mix of worry.
“I think we'll be just fine. For the two of us, this will be a piece a cake,” Koshi let's out a little laugh when she says this, trying to convince herself it'll all be fine.
Ko stared off into the ceiling, unsure how she should feel. He shuts his eyes, thinking maybe something will come up tomorrow morning.
The morning came quicker than imagined, unfortunately for Ko. It just seems to move faster in situations like this or it's just him.
His mind filled with more worry than, he ignored Koshi's morning greeting.
Rightfully so, Koshi didn't like this. She folded her arms, clearly unhappy about Ko's behavior.
Ko abruptly got up and walked off, stunning Koshi.
“He's upset?” Koshi murmured. Noting Ko's true feelings of the situation are surfacing.
As Ko heads to the bath, Koshi prepares something for them to eat.
Through preparation of the meal, she pondered on ways she could cheer Ko up. She noticed he's taking quite some time and she's already finished preparing the meal.
Checking up on him, she begged if he could hurry a little. Purposefully, in a rare case of defiance, Ko does the opposite of what she asked, leaving the bathe at his own accord.
Koshi bothered not to make a fuss about it, finding the behavior understandable for the situation.
They sat at the table, with an eerie silence between the two. As they started to eat, Koshi glanced at him every so often.
“Okay then, after we're finished, we'll head out. Is that okay with you?” Koshi asked.
Ko nodded, playing with his food. “It's fine. We'll be fine," He murmured. Just audible enough for Koshi to hear.
“I believe so too,” Koshi murmured back.
Their eyes drift from their plates into each other's. Ko broke this eye contact first, attending to his food.
Koshi sighed, seeing this as some sort of win, and continued on to eat.
