It was a cold, dark night when the intruders burst into Janks and Gibson's home, their weapons drawn and their eyes fixed on the two men. Janks quickly darted to hide, not wanting to be a burden on Gibson as he fought off the attackers.
Gibson, on the other hand, seemed to be in a different world entirely. He moved with a speed and grace that was almost otherworldly, dodging and weaving between the attackers with ease. He reached out a hand, and suddenly time seemed to slow down around him. The attackers swung their weapons slowly through the air, and Gibson was able to easily sidestep their attacks and strike back with his own.
Janks watched in amazement as Gibson fought, his attacks seeming almost effortless. But even with his time-manipulating powers, he was still outnumbered. As more and more intruders flooded into the room.
The battle raged on, with Gibson using his time-manipulating powers to fight off the intruders with incredible speed and precision. But the intruders were relentless, and Janks knew he had to do something to help. He scanned the room, looking for a way to even the odds. And then he saw it - a weapon lying forgotten on the floor.
Without hesitation, Janks grabbed the weapon and charged into the fray. He was no match for the skilled conjurers, but he was determined to do whatever it took to protect his friend.
Just when things seemed their bleakest, a figure appeared in the doorway. It was a man, tall and muscular, with a wild shock of purple hair. He was surrounded by a nimbus of crackling energy, and as he strode into the room, purple lightning danced between his fingers.
With a roar, the man launched himself into the fray, his lightning attacks decimating the intruders with ease. Janks watched in amazement as the man fought, his movements almost too fast to follow.
As the fight continued, the intruders were clearly shocked by Reeve's presence. He was well-known in Gahenna as one of the strongest people around, and it was clear that they had not expected to face him in this battle.
Despite their best efforts, the intruders were no match for Reeve and Gibson. Soon, the last of them lay defeated at their feet.
"Who are you?" Janks asked, his voice shaking with adrenaline.
The man chuckled, his purple eyes sparkling with amusement. "I'm Reeve," he said, his voice deep and rumbling. "The captain sent me to make sure you two were safe."
"Thanks for the help," Gibson said, panting heavily. "I couldn't have taken them all on my own."
"No problem," Reeve replied, his smirk widening. "I'm just glad I could be of assistance"
Janks couldn't believe what he was hearing. The captain had sent this powerful conjurer to protect them? It was almost too good to be true.
"Well, we can't thank you enough," Janks said, his voice shaking with gratitude. "We owe you our lives."
But before he left, Reeve paused and reached into his pocket, pulling out a small, intricately designed artifact. "Here," he said, handing it to Janks. "Just press this button if you ever find yourself in danger. I'll come running."
Janks accepted the artifact with a mix of gratitude and confusion. He had no idea how he was going to repay the captain and Reeve for their protection, but he knew that he owed them his life.
"Consider it a favor," Reeve said, his eyes twinkling. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some more business to attend to. Take care of yourselves."
And with that, Reeve turned and left. As Janks watched Reeve disappear into the night, Janks made a vow to himself. He would focus on creating artifacts that would give him the power to stand on equal footing with the conjurers. He would work tirelessly to create weapons and tools that would give him the ability to defend himself and those he cared about.
Janks knew that it would be a long and difficult road, but he was determined to do whatever it took to become strong and self-sufficient. He would not be held back by his own weakness any longer.
In a tall building captain watched as Reeve dispatched the intruders with ease. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride at how well his plan was coming together. As Reeve approached him, the captain turned to face him with a sly smile.
"Why didn't you send me sooner?" Reeve asked, his fists still crackling with purple lightning. "That kid was almost endanger."
"I had to be sure," the captain replied, his voice dripping with amusement. "I needed to see if Janks was hiding any other powerful artifacts. And besides, it's always good to have people indebted to you. Now, Janks will be even more grateful for my protection."
Reeve raised an eyebrow, but he knew better than to question the captain's methods. He simply nodded and turned to follow the captain back to the station, already thinking about the next mission.
As Janks and Gibson cleaned up the mess and tended to their wounds, they were unaware of the figure lurking in the shadows, watching them from a distance. The man had been there since the start of the attack, observing the fight and taking mental notes.
"Well, well, well," the man whispered to himself as he watched the scene unfold. "I didn't expect the captain to send Reeve. Looks like that kid is more valuable than I thought. Time to make a move and get in good with Janks." The man smiled to himself, already planning his next move. He knew that having a close relationship with Janks could bring him many benefits and opportunities in the future.
As Janks and Gibson finished up and went back inside, the man watched them go before disappearing into the shadows himself. He had a lot to think about and many plans to make. But one thing was certain - he would do whatever it took to get what he wanted. And right now, what he wanted was Janks.
