Tacha Macha busily hunted the creatures of the forest. No radish was spared from her greed for ingredients, though that costed her all of her healing items. It was all because she wanted to take on a group of three togheter, the two that she wasn’t focusing on, biting on her ankles like their life depended on it.
She had hunted so many of them, that at dusk’s time she received a notification.
You have hunted 100 Overgrown Radishes
You have gained a new title, Radish Exterminator
Radish Exterminator
The forest trembles at your bloodlust towards radishes.
You will deal 10% more damage to Plant lifeforms.
Weaker Plant lifeforms will fear you.
During her hunting, she stopped on a few places to collect new plants. She didn’t dare to try them right away, she was just happy to put them in her inventory for now. After a full day of hunting she only managed to reach level 2.
Once she got to level 1, her exp gain from the radishes diminished from 18 to 10, and after level 2 the exp gain decreased to 5. To gain levels faster she would need to fight stronger enemies. But Tacha wasn’t disappointed at all, afterall she gained a lot of fresh vegetables and unknown plants. Luckily she came across a couple of wild rabbits. Unfortunately they gave only 1 exp each, even the Twilight Berries used cried at the injustice. To be used as mere rabbit bait… if they had legs they would have run away from that devilishly granny.
Tacha had seen a few of monster rabbits, however they looked way stronger than her. The first duo that she had seen, easily snapped a few Overgrown Radishes in two, apparently with no effort with their sharp teeth. Not even after killing so many radishes she was able to kill them that easily, So she decided to keep in mind the location. No way she was going to start a fight she wasn’t going to win.
The silver haired granny looked at her inventory and contemplated if it was the case to camp out for the night or if it was better to go back to the village.

In the end she decided to make a camp. After finding an appropriate place she gathered enough dry wood to last for the whole night, and lighted the biggest ones on fire. Once the fire was big enough she cut a couple of radishes, putting some slices on a branch and leaving it cooking on the side of the bonfire. The rest of the slices were put inside the rabbit meat, then she skewered it and put it next to the radish skewer.
The aroma of the cooking meat surprisingly didn’t attract any nocturnal beasts. While Tacha nimbled on the radish skewer, she wondered why the night was so calm. Maybe there were some players that liked hunting mobs at night?
Strangely, there wasn’t even a single sound of battle.
It was her first time out here, so she didn’t really know if it was normal. Maybe at night the mobs will become stronger, so no one dares to fight them? This was still a beginner area, so it might be a valid theory.
The radish skewer became crunchy, just like potato chips. After being cooked over the fire it even lost its spicy taste, leaving behind a peculiar woody aroma. Tacha wondered if it was the wooden stick that helped with the taste. The few times she cooked food in the same manner, the food didn’t retain that peculiar aroma.
She looked at the pile of wooden sticks that she had gathered, before putting them all in her inventory.
Spirited Radish Skewer

Next she ate the rabbit skewer. The little fat of the meat was too little to properly soften the meat, so when Tacha ate it, it was still a bit hard to chew. However the radishes used as filling helped soften the interior, giving the meat a nice and soft spicy aroma. After getting a taste of the more charred side, her eyes shined with joy. It had been a while since she had tasted grilled-like meat. In real life, unless it was a really soft piece of meat that could be eaten smoothly, it would get into her dentures and irritate her gums.
The fact that she could eat every food without problems was her biggest joy out of this game. With this thought, she resolved herself to try every dish that could be ever created.
It was an opportunity to even try exotic and fantastical foods. Afterall, who could resist the prospect of a dragon steak?
Wild Stuffed Rabbit Skewer

She thought about it before, but seeing it again confirmed her suspicions. Every new food she ate was going to give her a permanent buff to her stats.
As expected, trying out new food was the best.
She waited by the campfire, throwing wood once in a while to keep it going. The night was calm, a bit boring maybe, but that wasn’t anything bad. Rather, that meant that she was safe.
Seeing that the fire was going strong, she took out the bedroll that Molly gifted her and prepared to have a goodnight’s sleep. At most if she died in her sleep she would respawn somewhere.

Deep within the forest, shrouded by trees with branches that interwined one with another, was a forest of luminous giant mushrooms. Their green and blue light shined over a sad scene. Hundreds of Overgrown Radishes were crying under the biggest mushroom of them all.
Their brothers and sisters, their mothers and fathers, and even their poor sons and daughters. All murdered for no reason by a diabolical fiend. They cried and cried at this injustice, at this wanton slaughter by the silver devil.
They wouldn’t have known, if not for a few lucky survivors that described their assaulter in detail. They told them everything. How the fiend cut their green mercilessly before finishing them off, how it kept slashing its victims even after they begged for mercy, how it had a glint in its eyes every time it collected their corpses.
Every radish that heard this story trembled in fear. Not even after death they would be left alone, forever at the fiend’s mercy. As for what use would it have for their remains… They didn’t dare to think about it!
Once night fell they all rushed to their place of birth. Here, in the Nightgleam Forest, they knew they would be safe. It was a sacred place, where their guardian resided.
Their guardian watched generation after generation of Overgrown Radishes being born, growing and proposing to their loved ones. They loved their guardian, and their guardian loved them.
And so, they cried and cried, hoping for their broken hearts to heal a little. How could they live the rest of their life without their dear ones now?
But what was even more tragic was that they had no remains to bring back and mourn. One thing was losing their loved ones to their natural predator, the Tiger Rabbits. At least they hunted only a few to eat them; but this silver devil?
It just mercilessly slaughtered them for no apparent reason. Thank Rukkh that the fiend stopped going after them at dusk! If not, they would have gone extinct.
The radishes called out for their guardian. To avenge their friends and family! To bring justice to that murderer!
Once the brightest of the three moons was at its highest point in the sky, the giant mushrooms began humming gently. Soon the humming became sad, just like the cries that surrounded them.
Under the sad melody, the giant mushroom started emitting little spheres of light. First slowly, then progressively faster. When the big mushroom had become a giant light bulb, it emitted a low hum and the countless spheres merged together to form a giant white and purple Overgrown Radish.
At the sight of their guardian, all of the radishes rejoiced. That devil was going to pay for its sins.
Like little chicks surrounding the mother hen, they gathered at the guardian’s feet to hug him and to tell him all of their grievances.

While sleeping soundly, a notification interrupted Tacha’s dreams of delicious buffets. With sleepy eyes, she forced herself to read what it was all about.
Your feats have spread far and wide among the inhabitants of the Nightgleam Forest, awarding you with a new title.
Silver Devil
A monster, a fiend, a devil.
You murdered so many lifeforms in such a short time, that the survivors of your slaughter started calling you as such. They only remeber your sadistic grin and that silver hair of yours as you killed their friends with glee.
One should wonder if such a title was worth it.
This title awards you the special trait ‘Devil’.
Other beings that recognize you as such will either fear, hate or worship you. If your opponent carries an opposing trait, you will suffer increased damage from their attacks. The reverse holds true, and you will deal more damage to opponents that have opposing traits.
