“What’s his deal?” Glacia muttered, watching Sebastion flee until he was out of sight. “Why did he attack you?”
“He was scared of us, that's all,” Gadalik awkwardly defended him.
“Fear is no excuse to lose self-control,” Guinevere stated, her voice low but her tone emphatic.
The hybrid opened his mouth as if to argue, then shut it in apparent agreement.
“Sounded like you two have a history,” Gretel remarked. “So do you know who he is?”
“Sebastion is…”--the fairy dragoness paused as if to consider a way to phrase it nicely–“a mess.”
The wyvern snorted with amusement. “I can tell.”
“You’ve dealt with him before?” Glacia asked the other adult.
“Yes… unfortunately,” Guinevere answered, and Gretel couldn't help snickering from her bluntness.
Stolen story; please report.
“Why? What did he do?” Gadalik inquired tentatively.
“It's less about what he did, and more about what he attempted to do,” she replied vaguely.
Glacia leaned closer. “Come on, don't leave us in suspense! What did he attempt?”
“Well… We used to visit one another and exchange materials. Sometimes, even gifts. My gift to him was purely to show my gratitude for his help, but his gifts were… for another reason.”
Gadalik tilted his head with confusion. “What reason?”
Gretel erupted in laughter–both at her friend’s innocence, and as the reason was clear to her. “He was courting you?!” she managed to say between huffs and chortles. “Seriously? You're way out of his league!”
Guinevere's wings turned orange as she averted her yellow eyes, and Gadalik shrank, clearly embarrassed.
Glacia seemed more curious now than anything, though. “I don't think I've come across any other fairy types in the forest. Fairy dragons don't really travel, either. How would you go about finding a potential mate?”
“We do travel if we're seeking out a mate,” Guinevere corrected her. “However, I have no desire for romance at this point in time. And so, I do not travel.”
The water dragoness gave a thoughtful hum. “So, uh… what about Gale? He travels, right?”
“Yes, but I am not romantically interested in him–nor is he in me. We are both content with our friendship.”
Glacia relaxed slightly, and Gadalik was once again looking between his maternal figures with innocent confusion. Gretel giggled. I don't have the heart to tell him, but it's obvious Glacia’s interested in Guinevere’s friend.
