Chapter 6:
Player K000 8118 9039 POV:
I made my way back to where Fenrir and Valkyrie were. It seemed that my new form allowed me to move faster than expected as by the time I made it back, they were just about to leave. “Hey! Sorry about leaving like that just now, I wanted to ask if you had any advice for me,” I called out to them. They seemed surprised to see me back so quickly, but they quickly sat back down with me at the table. “I’m assuming you want advice on how to run your world?” Fenrir asked once we were seated. “Yes, I realised that I should have asked you about some things. I wanted to know if I could make the monthly tribulation come earlier, and if there are any other lifeforms on the planet besides my own race,” I replied.
“For the first one it’s quite simple. Just mentally say start monthly tribulation now once you’re in Godhood Online. As for other lifeforms, well, there are no lifeforms other than your race at first besides microorganisms, but plants will appear after the first tribulation. It is actually a trap to wait a month because there’s nothing on the planet, so either your race can survive prolonged periods without food, or they survive on dirt, stone, etc, or your race ends up cannibalising each other to survive which would really affect your race’s culture. The only way is to say Help Menu and ask for help on how to start the tribulation early,” Fenrir answered.
“There’s a Help Menu? What else did Apocalypse add in?” I blurted out, shock at the new revelation. Fenrir calmly replied, “I’m not sure what functions there are besides System Preferences which only let you do things like shifting where the messages come from, their colour, how opaque they are, even receiving messages in audio form is possible. Also you will unlock various bonuses after surviving the tribulation. The appearance of plants is one such bonus. Another thing you will unlock is God Skills which appears the Buy option. The Buy option only sells things related to Godhood Online, which you should know because you must have bought The Tutorial. The Tutorial doesn’t tell you where the monsters come from, but three quarters of the total number of monsters will directly spawn in front of your city or wherever your race is, the rest will be dispersed all over the world.” I was about to ask how he knew I bought The Tutorial, but I stopped myself in time when I realised that it was because I asked about the monthly tribulation.
“Well there isn’t really much I can advise you on besides telling you that the monthly tribulations are going to be increasing in difficulty in strange ways. For example, the first tribulation may use swarm tactics with small generalists of only one race, while the second may have a couple of large bosses with various races and archetypes,” Fenrir told me. I allowed what he said to sink in, realising that he must have cleared the second tribulation already.
“I know this is totally unrelated but can we use the word wave instead of tribulation? Tribulation is a real mouthful to say, and it kind of has a negative connotation,” I said. Fenrir and Valkyrie just laughed a little and Fenrir said jokingly, “I’ve been explaining crucial details for you and you’ve been thinking about little details about how tribulation is a mouthful? Well I agree with you on that though. Enough of these nonsense, let’s get down to business. God Skills are important but you need to know that you are buying them with your lifespan so make sure you don’t splurge. I’ll let you find out what God Skills do personally, so I guess you better go back and start the wave now. One last thing, don’t enter the Arena, you could actually die in there.”
And so our meeting ended on an ominous note. I decided to go back and start the wave as soon as I could, and made sure to stay away from the Arena. Once inside Godhood online, I was greeted with a scene of a Kaimera standing guard at the cave front while the other one rested. I decided now was as good a time as any, so I said start monthly tribulation now. I was unprepared for what was coming next.
Male Kaimera POV:
Look for danger not like. I look, she rest. Then she look, I rest. Feeling wrong. Danger coming. See many small things coming. I roar. She awakes. We fight. I wait for small things near me. She and I block hole together. I hit small thing. Small thing dead, but more small thing. I hit more and more but they hit more and more too. I hurt. I tired. They keep coming. I try to control strength. I hit. I am less tired. They still die. I keep hitting, again, again, and again. I stomp the ground. They do not walk so well now. I keep stomping as I fight. I start to move around. I make the ground in front of the cave uneven. This helps me restrict their range of motion. I am bleeding, not much, but I am getting tired.

I retreat to the cave. I lower myself in front of the cave blocking it off from the small creatures. I wait for the small creatures to give up on attacking my hard scales. One of them tries to jump at my face, I lunge forward, jaw stretching in a strange way. I swallow the small creature whole. I keep going for a while, but then I realise I forgot about my mate. I raise myself back to my full height, and glanced around while fending off these little creatures. I spot my mate just some distance in front of me to the side. I grab her and pull her back so we can take turns blocking the cave. I do not know how long it was, but at the end corpses were pilled up chips of scales scattered, the ground was now red. The fight was over.
Player K000 8118 9039 POV:
It started out with a massive portal opening, I could not see what was on the other side, but I could see what came out. A small wolf like creature was my enemy for my first wave. I watched as they swarmed out in the thousands, I knew that there was exactly 3000 of these monsters coming out. I noticed little strange details about these creatures, their hind legs were much larger than their front like a rabbit but the legs and jaws had claws and fangs like a wolf.
I watched as the male Kaimera roared and begun fighting clumsily. I was watching as he begun hitting softer, but still enough to kill. He moved back to the cave and blocked the entrance while resting up. He was learning much faster than what should be normal. At the end of all of this, I felt a little nauseated at all the blood and gore around. I had survived the wave but my Kaimeras were weakened. They had cracks all over their scales, with some scales outright missing. All of a sudden I noticed that large amounts of messages had appeared.
Your Male Kaimera, Unnamed, has paved his own road, Thought: Unlike wisdom or intelligence, Thought is more focused on the aspect of self awareness and the development of the mind as a whole. Increases intelligence and wisdom growth rates.
God Power earned from killing redirected to Power System.
Congratulations on surviving your first tribulation!
You have unlocked God Skills
You have received complementary skill God Descent
You have unlocked plants in your world
You have gained 1 month of Lifespan
The time dilation has changed from 1:5 to 1:12, Real Life to Godhood Online
I opened up both my Status and Race Status to get a view of what changed.
Name: Player K000 8118 9039
Lifespan (Player 10%): 99 Years 10 Months 0 Days
Race: Kaimera +
God Power: 1000
God Skills: God’s Descent
Race: Kaimera
Population: 2
Power System: 3 Skill Nodes (760 God Power)
This means that I gained 1500 God Power, so divided by 3000 would give me half. One of those wolf rabbits is worth only 0.5 God Power. I find it a little annoying to have two separate statuses so I tried to change it in the System Preferences, surprisingly, it worked. Now everything is listed under status. Well, onto more pressing matters. I started by checking the description of God’s Descent.
God’s Descent: Creates a physical body matching your own on your chosen planet. Lifespan is consumed to maintain physical body. Rate of consumption, 10 Lifespan Days: 1 Day
The time dilation was interesting, the whole fight appeared to last for only three hours, while in fact it lasted for fifteen hours. I was kind of surprised to see Kaimeras moving so quickly, same with the wolf rabbits. Now I know why. Another thing that surprised me was that the custom path system I put in place would come into play so quickly. Well I think I have a better vision of the Power System I want to create. I decided to use 240 God Power to add a fourth skill node, so that the total value would be a rounded 1000.
Defence: Increase thickness, flexibility, and density of scales. Increases insulation of scales.
I planned for these four skill nodes to form the core stats of my race, with an even distribution of power for each skill. For now, I only had one tier of skill nodes, with no classes or any means of further specialisation, so the ratio of God Power is equal for all skill nodes. I developed an interface for Kaimeras to use. I would gain God Power in a ratio of 9:1, with the Kaimera getting 9 and me getting 1. A Kaimera would level up when they reach 250 God Power and would gain one skill point. My plan was for the first tier to cost one skill point to upgrade, second tier would cost two, third tier would cost four, fourth tier would cost 8 and so on.
I had 760 God Power left so I spent 680 summoning more Kaimeras in the same ratio, and kept the rest of the God Power. Decided to check out the God Skill store now that I was done. I spent the whole day looking through the God Skills, before settling on a skill for communication.
Mystic Dreams: Allows the God to speak to the follower with the strongest mental abilities in their dreams. Cost: 70 Years
It was a risky purchase but so long as I kept winning I would keep living. I opened my status to see the changes.
