Chapter 4: Finishing Up

ID 0002 8118 9038 POV:

The hardest part of the power system would be the energy source. Despite being god-like in our worlds, us players still have to follow physics. More precisely, the law of conservation of energy, which states that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only converted from one form to another. This means that if I am going to make super soldiers, they need super food. Otherwise, their bodies would just breakdown because there is no energy for them to use. So I poured in God Power to saturate the world. Now my race would gain massive potential, while the same would go to the monsters, I was hopping that the power system I was going to make would solve that problem. A quick check showed me that I was left with 600 God Power. I weaved 200 points of God Power into a structure, a single line of power lighting up the sky. This was going to be the foundation of my race, it was plain but as my race grew so would the intricacy and complexity of the line.

I was left with 400 God Power, I’m hoping that’s enough for my race creation, and to keep some in reserve. I started with the legs of my race. I designed them like a cross between human and elephant with large, broad and thick feet and legs, but the knees of a human. I lined the bottom of the feet with little spikes to help with friction. The legs came to a cost of 20 God Power total. I built a large torso to match the legs, with the torso being like an upside down triangle, but more natural. That was 25 God Power gone, probably from the enhanced digestive system I created. The digestive system was enhanced so that they had less food requirements. Now I attached the head of a snake like creature. That was a measly 10 God power, although that might have been because I directly removed the sense of smell and taste, replacing it with heat vision of a snake.

I created two powerful arms for my race, ending with the five finger of humans, except with a twist. I gave them sharp claws for slashing and piercing, with large hands for them to deal crushing damage. That was 25 God Power. So far the cost has reached a total of 80 God Power. I proceeded to give them thick scales like a crocodile but mud brown. That was 20 God Power. I went for the classic mammal reproductive system so that was 15 God Power. Now I realised my race was a little too imbalanced so I threw in a tail for 5 God Power. Now I pumped in a whole 30 God Power to develop their brains and to link them to the power system. I also added a couple of racial instincts in such as herd mentality and extreme xenophobia. So anything recognised as a herd member would be well protected, and anything not would be dealt with extreme prejudice. Now I threw in 10 God Power to make them more fertile and 10 more for gene correction to allow for… interesting combinations. The grand total was 170 God Power for one. There was a flash of sudden insight as I knew what the race was going to be called. Kaimera.

I took a moment to step back and admire my work. The simulation Kaimera stood at three metres tall, looking like a brown version of the lizard from the Spectacular Spider-Man with some minor differences. The tail was three and a half metres long, the arms ended with five sharp claws attached to a burley hand, and the feet were like pillars with little spikes at the bottom and without and toes. Lastly the face seemed more docile, instead of the rough features of a crocodile, the smooth and soft features of a snake took its place, although the head seemed a little too large and had no teeth. The Kaimera was in a hunched position, moving slowly like an elephant. I mentally wished for it to move faster, and to my surprise, the projection abruptly hunched over with both hands on the ground. Before I could react, the Kaimera pushed off against the ground with its arms, tucked in its hind legs, and whipped the ground with its tail, propelling it forward faster than anything that size and shape should be allowed to. I watched as it travelled through the air, using its tail like a rudder. The Kaimera was then able to keep moving by pushing off with its arms and whipping the ground with its tail, make sharp turns with its arms, or stopping completely by digging its feet in to the ground.

I fell to the ground as I felt strange senses flooding in. I spent moments trying to understand the list of messages. After looking through the list I knew why I felt so strange. I opened my status to get a view of what changed.

Name: Player K000 8118 9039

Lifespan (Player 10%): 99 Years 10 Months 0 Days

Race: Kaimera +

God Power: 400

This was what was left of my status. Everything had changed, for one thing I had a name, race, and my lifespan had changed. Instead of any further words, the status showed a 3D model of a Kaimera, except better, probably the + symbol at work. I stood at a height of four meters, and generally seemed like a scaled up version of the Kaimera. However, there were some prominent differences. While the scales of a Kaimera resembled a crocodile everywhere except the head, my crocodile like scales extended to my head. This gave me a rougher look, although my jaws were still a snake minus the teeth, I had two ridges above my eyes like a crocodile travelling along my head. I felt my vision swirl a little as my tongue flicked out instinctively, exposing me to the strange world of heat vision. It was so hard to grasp what I was feeling let alone explain it. I could sense the lack of heat in the world around me, something no human should be able to do. Now I needed to check what else changed and all these new servers.
