Apocalypse POV:
"This is bullshit!" I screamed in frustration as my new born race was wiped out by a single damn generalist. Again. Worse still, I could tell this was a complete greenhorn as he didn’t even bother to get any proof of completing his mission before returning back. Why is being a god of creation so difficult? This is the 7th time my new race has been wiped out. “It will be easy they said, just create a race they said…” I grumbled. I’m going to need help, this is just impossible. How can I increase my powers of creation when everything I create just dies and gets destroyed? If only someone else could do my job for me… That’s it! I just need to find a race with nothing much to do, and plenty of imagination, creativity and stuff. I have a whole dimension to myself, there has to be race like that out there. I can’t let the other gods mock me.
Years later…
Third Person POV:
3028, the Earth was thrown into chaos when a god-like being appeared. It was a three metres tall monster with no eyes, pitch black skin, and six limbs. Its body was a two metre sphere with a limb on six sides, front, back, left, right, up and down. The limbs were tentacles that had a ridiculous three hundred sixty degrees range allowing it to move in every direction. Each limb ended with a pulsating lump that constantly shifted between being a long blade, hammer or lance. The monster seemed to randomly spin as it floated through the air. A voice resounded in everyone’s head. “My name is Apocalypse, or at least that’s what everyone calls me. I will be your new god. I will be introducing a game to this world. Your new job is to play it. I have taken the liberty to help you maintain a suitable environment. Have a good day.” The being than vanished. It was the day everything changed.

The Earth was destroyed and replaced with new homes for everyone. People now lived in houses which were nothing more than a grey cube with nothing inside but a door. Multiple cubes could be combined together to create s bigger cube for families to live in. Everyone was now equal as everyone only had a single room with no belongings. Everything was taken away, clothes, money, even their bodies. Everyone was now a white blob with no gender, muscles or anything. The only thing people retained was memories and personalities. People no longer had names, only numbers. The door led to three different places. The Square, where people could gather, talk, trade, etc. Other cubes own by other people which required permission to enter. Lastly was Godhood Online, a world where everyone could create a whole new race on an Earth-like planet.
Everything could be bought with Lifespan, the new currency. The grey cubes could be expanded and decorated, furniture could be bought, personal planets could be bought, everything could be bought, even people. If a person paid a hundred times your net worth, you would be enslaved to them. Alternatively, you could pay to create your own slave. If you wanted to change the way you look, you could pay. Even staying alive had a price. Everything had a price tag, the only way to earn Lifespan was to play Godhood Online and take part in tournaments. Once you do no one could buy you. However, losing meant being enslaved.
This was the Age of Apocalypse.
