FA Chapter 31 Muliro's End
With the flick of a wrist, the fiery red spear started dancing within Musana's hands as a flash of blinding blue light appeared right in front of him, this time taking on a humanoid form.
"Well well well! Now, this is going to be even more interesting! During the past few minutes, you have been the one on the ropes. Have you finally worked up the courage to attack?"
Muliro lunged at the speed of lightning, while Musana reacted by releasing a burst of spiritual particles that slowed her down enough such that his eyes finally managed to capture her movements.
Like a comet, the spear thrust out as a gravitational pull enveloped the spearhead, one powerful enough to act even on Muliro's plasma form, preventing her from dodging.
An elated feeling burst within Musana's heart when a hole appeared through the torso of the lightning humanoid. And this time he was sure that he had managed to injure her because of the painful grunt that escaped through her spiritual existence, not to mention the fact that he had felt his spear puncturing something.
'In essence, they are spiritual beings. Attacks imbued with spirit can injure or outright kill them!'
But he didn't get complacent, pulling back his arms and withdrawing his spear before she managed to reach him. With a sweep of the spear, he forced her to retreat.
Then, she circled his pseudo spiritual domain with such speed that his eyes only caught a streak of light. Musana went on high alert.
Though, he wasn't very alarmed because of the fact that the spiritual particles permeating his domain were dense enough to even slow down lightning itself.
'Will she advance? Or opt for long range?' His eyes flickered as he primed himself, gathering energy to prepare for another attack or defence.
The streak of light circling around him brightened for a moment before 8 lightning tendrils encroached within his domain. Even with it slowing them down, they were still fast enough to match the speed of his reaction speed!
A powerful shout left his lips as veins bulged upon his arms and the spear swept towards the first bolt, shattering it in the process even as one of his feet, coated in a dense spiritual armor kicked out at another one before he applied force upon the blue spiritual platform he had been standing upon, launching himself into a spin so fast that his figure became blurry while each and every lighting bolt scattered into sparks.
In the middle of his spin, he felt a powerful sense of danger envelop him as through his spiritual particles at the edge of the domain, he felt a scorching heat that altered the very air itself.
'Shit!'
He cursed. He had failed to take into account the fact that she had the ability to enlarge herself or her attacks!
And right now, he had become enveloped in a sea of plasma that was pressuring his domain to the point that it was shrinking by a meter per second!
His eyes lit after only a fraction of a second as an idea came to him, conjured up from the depths of his mind.
Musana implemented it instantly, coating his scales with spiritual energy, after which they stood up, perpendicular to his skin.
A small sound escaped as he launched them in an omnidirectional attack that dug into the lightning sea, eliciting a groan of pain, after which it contracted to reform Muliro, who now appeared to be smaller than before.
Musana bent his knees and launched off from the platform, sending his body and spiritual domain towards her while she regathered herself.
Like a wraith, he appeared infront of her, with his spear crushing down upon the lightning form from above, with such force that the air was warping around the spearhead.
It looked powerful, but less force, trying to see how she reacts.
A blue, deeper in shade than the rest of her lighted up in her lightning hands, whereupon, a tendril of blue plasma elongated instantly, at the speed of lightning, and swept upwards, coming from directly underneath him.
Musana conjured a blue platform right beneath his right clawed foot, kicking off diagonally to the left, evading the attack just mere moments, with his skin even registering the change in temperature as the cord of plasma rose up mere inches away from him.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
With a burst of force, his left foot immediately kicked off another blue platform even as he increased the saturation of his spiritual particles in the air to the point that they reached a concentration akin to that of liquid, exerting all its force upon Muliro, to try and curb her speed.
"Its a true pity, Musana. My time is almost at its end. I really would have loved to enjoy a battle with you forever." A sigh escaped the lightning humanoid even as the whip of lightning was summoned back to her, spiralling around her like an intelligent spiritual snake.
Then her body became blurry, appearing right in front of him as if she had teleported, catching him mid swing! Musana's eyes widened as the realisation set in that he couldn't really limit her speed, while a gnawing sense of danger also crept upon him as her form released a burst of blue light.
There was no time for thought as reflex took over, and a blue spiritual barrier appeared in between them instantly, before countless pelting sounds rang out in quick succession, like rain drops upon a leaf.
Yet even with all that, his attack still bore down upon her, with the spearhead carrying the mass of the sun, plus a powerful gravitational force that he was sure would prevent her from dodging.
Sparks scattered as the attack made contact, shattering her into innumerable strands of lighting that sped away into the distance.
One of the lightning serpents vanished within a conflagration down below even as Musana retreated, defending himself from the various attacks from the other three directed at him. From stones travelling at speeds that turned them red hot, gigantic rivers crashing down upon him and massive wind blades that threatened to sever him in half.
'With the way they are attacking, it seems as if they aren't giving it their all...what could be the reason?'
The orange red flames which had been burning along a column, one of the few left of a massive skyscraper, burst into life upon absorbing the lightning serpent, flaring into a humanoid form.
'Where have the powers of lightning gone? Ah! The lightning had been an empowerment provided by Mazi through charging up her clouds of rain! Her true domain of influence is flames!'
Muliro rejoined the battle, pressuring enough that he was straining himself, though, her speed wasn't quite as fast as before. But this time, she was even more clever and vicious, sacrificing parts of herself to launch lethal attacks, with one even directly searing his right arm into ash, depriving him of his spear, which exploded with enough force to push him back, but Muliro absorbed the flames from the explosion, making them her own.
That attack exposed a flaw, where his attention shifted from monitoring his surrounding for a split second, but it was enough for his left leg to be severed at the thigh before being minced into tiny chunks through a combination vortex of wind and water.
A frown appeared on his face while he suppressed a grunt of pain. They wanted to waste his bodily energy. Regenerating the limbs was one way.
After refocussing his spiritual senses upon retreating, he managed to detect the molecule-thin strings of air encircling him. They were enhanced with spiritual energy as they would have managed to cut him otherwise.
Barely a second after his retreat, a shadow materialised behind him, bundling together the air particles behind him into a humanoid form.
-----
As the others harassed Musana, Muliro stood in place, looking on while preparing to test a theory. Many concepts, some minor, others major, had appeared within her mind upon feeling her power. She hadn't yet reached her limits, her peak! So, she had decided to test a bit of those abilities she conjectured possessing.
The battle had been satisfying, with Musana not dissapointing for even a minute. He had been keeping up with her at first, then even when the others had joined in.
She appeared uninjured in contrast to Musana because of her immaterial flame body, but her spirit told a different story. Due to the strain of using lightining, coupled with occasionally being blown away by Musana's attacks, she was in pain, as if millions of needles were prodding her.
But she wasn't dissatisfied with it. It only made her feel sharper and more alive than any of her time since being conceived upon this planet.
She closed her eyes and galvanised her fire attributed spiritual energy, spiking the temperature within and around her, causing the very air itself to ignite.
A smile only she could feel made its way onto her flaming lips as she felt a tendril of spiritual energy, one foreign in nature, tremble for a moment. Musana had sensed danger.
After that minor interlude, she concentrated upon herself, feeling the spike in temperature to the point that millions of degrees were contained within her, causing her own particles to start acting strangely, some disappearing only to appear in other locations as if they had teleported, others simply bundled up with those nearby to act as a singular large particle, making her release a sigh in wonder.
Muliro faltered slightly as she felt some of them start to disappear permanently. Her time had come. Death should have been a fearsome thing, yet strangely, she didn't feel anything of the sort, except for a tiny sliver of regret.
As she raised her gaze towards Musana, she wondered whether he would be able to survive her latest attack, the last one she would be able to launch before disintegrating.
After a bit of time, she felt them, the other particles, ones not here with her, in the form of conflagration that were ravaging the places where her attacks had landed upon missing Musana. It was a connection surpassing distance, like she was personally there, feeling the blaze working its way through the reinforced metallic foundation.
Her consciousness traveled to another location, where an eye was birthed through the flames, giving her a glimpse at the nearby emergency station, where many people and bots were gathered, treating the wounded and rescuing others.
With an intention of will, she came back into her body, upon which, she focused on Musana, specifically the places where her attacks had managed to cause damage, and felt the minute fluctuations given off by the lingering particles containing her power.
A grin lit up upon her face as her body, which had previously been orange-red, became white hot as the temperature spiked to unprecedented levels.
Her vision blurred as she initiated an entanglement and superposition, teleporting right onto the man's body, upon which a scream rippled into her spiritual form which had been on the verge of scattering, annihilating it instantly!
Yet, she went out with the satisfaction that Musana had either been burnt into ashes, or to a crisp, barely clinging to life.
