Chapter 30 Perilous Battle

FA Chapter 30 Perilous Battle

"Oh my God! Is this real?!" Exclaimed a shocked Ice as her facial expression morphed through various shades while her gaze faced the skies.

She had been in the middle of lifting a large concrete slab that had trapped a boy underneath. The good thing was the fact that at least there had been some smaller pieces underneath, preventing it from crushing him. Except for some minor scrapes and cuts, he was otherwise unharmed.

The shock within the voice attracted Bosingwa's gaze towards her who was looking up into the sky. He followed her eyes only for his heart to palpitate with terror.

He had been so concentrated upon another task, providing first aid to a woman whose entire left side was covered in boils and burnt skin, injuries from a fire. She would make a full recovery because in this area, there was a healer, a crystal stage Forger with the power to regenerate even limbs. Unless a person's brain was already dead, there was no one she couldn't save!

"Is that a rock? I would have never thought that Forgers at just the third stage were this powerful!" Exclaimed Larssen as he wiped some blood from his face. It wasn't his, but someone else's.

Something blurred from the falling gigantic rock, striking a skyscraper, one which had already lost some of its upper floors because of the battle, causing it to start collapsing while some parts became brown, like a spreading stain.

"I wonder what that is. And those flames which keep burning even when in contact with non-flammable materials..."

Bosingwa too, was curious, but ultimately, all that was out of his depth. He went back to dealing with the injured.

They weren't the only ones here helping. Many more were doing the same at this temporary disaster camp. That was why even though he felt a twinge of fear, there was no panic.

There were no less than three crystal stage Forgers in the camp if the healer was discounted. They would hold up the sky if it fell.

Musana's face beaded with sweat as he felt the pain stimulating his nerves. That had been a very dangerous and lethal attack! These people were becoming more and more dangerous!

At the start of the battle, their attacks hadn't been enough to threatenen him because they had been in the middle of getting familiar with their newfound abilities.

Musana conjured a sphere of orange within his palm. It was a vivid replica of the sun this time, even rotating on its axis.

The heat and gravitational pull it was exerting was even causing the very air around it to warp while being sucked in.

"Go."

With a shout, he launched it towards the gigantic rock, leaving a trail of light in its wake. With every advancement it made caused the two properties imbued, gravity and heat to increase exponentially.

Musana had even paled significantly because of the amount of spiritual energy he had had to sacrifice for this latest version of the sun. But it had to be done as any less, and he wouldn't be able to succeed in destroying the rock.

He hurriedly distanced himself to prevent being caught up within the gravitational range, which rivalled the size of the falling rock.

Once again, the spears were fired, not at his attack but towards him, and this time, they were many, akin to rain drops, even obscuring the surface of the rock, only for them to become red hot, before being pulled into his miniature sun.

Even with their absurd velocity, they had still failed to win against the gravitational pull, allowing Musana a respite of relief. If they had managed to escape that much gravity, then he would have had to strain himself in order to stop them, and that wasn't ideal when the four opponents were keeping tabs on him.

None had entered the range of the falling rock. And Musana knew that it wasn't because of a fear of being caught up in the attack.

They were probably planning something else no less deadly than the rock itself.

His body worked overtime to patch up the hole while he took the time to gaze at his handiwork, where the rock surface had started melting while the liquid magma was being pulled into his miniature sun, enhancing its size.

Then he directed his gaze below, where the battle had caused destruction.

"This isn't even close to enough."

He murmered to himself even as the top of a skyscraper was sheared off and pulled into his miniature sun as it had been tall enough to be encompassed within the gravity domain.

His ears even picked up the sounds of the screaming people within before their lives were snuffed out. But what was the point of saving them? This entire battle had been planned with the purpose of showcasing the destructive power of a crystal stage Forger! People had to die in order for those idiotic politicians to finally have a paradigm shift of the mind.

And if they still failed to come to terms with it, he still had plenty of cards hidden away and moves to play.

(At your request, I have let you pilot this body. If at any point I feel that our lives are in danger, I will take over forcefully!)

A cold glint materialised within Musana's eyes for a split second at those words.

The now huge sphere of flame and earth started to sink ever so slowly as its mass increased, attracting Musana's attention.

At some point, the night sky was enveloped in darkness, with lightning snaking its way within the dark clouds, like serpents on the prowl. This dark cloud was even greater in size than the rock from before, encompassing the entire city within its limits.

Musana's eyes narrowed.

Suddenly, a large blue head drilled out from the clouds, casting a bright blue glow across his face, which had its eyes now widened.

"MUSANA! ARE YOU READY?"

The sound caused the very air to explode, reaching every nook and cranny within the city.

The blue head was an amalgam of flame and lightning, resembling that of a serpent. Its tongue was flicking on and out.

For a split second, Musana thought that a playful gleam had appeared within the facial features of the serpent.

Goosebumps appeared on his skin a second later as a small circular spiritual shield manifested within his palm in that same timeframe, enlarging instantly! He hadn't hesitated for even a moment upon feeling the danger!

The serpent formed out of pure electrical energy interspersed with blue flames pounced from the sky, passing through the large sphere of molten rock as if it were mere air, sucking in all the flames to turn it into mere earth before impacting his shield with such force that Musana crashed into the ground below sinking deep within the soil.

But the serpentine form of Muliro didn't even stop for a moment, directly plunging into the hole upon which the entire earth around caught fire before turning into bubbling lava in just a fraction of a second! The softened burning ground even caused a building to tilt on its side before falling within the lava, creating a minor wave in the process.

The ground tremored as Musana dug himself out through another place, with the shield now having been replaced by a spiritual sphere.

He was panting heavily, yet regained himself when the earth around him rose up, forming a palm that was clutching the sphere he had placed around himself.

A burst of force started acting upon the membrane of the sphere, trying to crush him within, but with a thought, he expended more spiritual energy to construct a triangular shape within the circle, increasing its sturdiness to the point that the force exerted wasn't stressing his control over the spiritual energy.

As a grin was about to form upon his lips, a powerful sense of doom enveloped him, causing the smile to falter while his body became enveloped in multiple layers of spiritual armor, not at his behest, but at the call of the being within his mind.

Just a fraction of a second after the armor's formation, a tendril of lighting in the shape of a spear drilled out from under the earthen palm, puncturing through the sphere and through many of the layers, before the ones closer to his skin managed to halt the lightning, just a few inches from piercing straight through Musana's stomach!

With a powerful leap that shattered the palm, Musana attempted to create distance from the two beings only for his back to slam into something solid, a wall made of compressed air particles seen through his spiritual senses.

A grinding sound then rang out as he felt his spiritual shields once again under strain, attracting his attention towards the thin high pressure jets of water that were cutting through them.

"Hah!"

With a shout, Musana released a shockwave of spiritual energy containing a defeaning sound, as if a powerful bomb had just gone off, scattering every attack directed his way and pushing away his assailants in the process, earning himself a fleeting moment of respite.

(If that flame-wielding woman didn't counter you, this battle would have been easier.)

'I need to change my strategy.'

Musana contemplated for a split second before manifesting another sphere of flame within his hand. With a thought, he controlled his spiritual powers to surround it, after which he squeezed the sphere and elongated it into a burning spear.

A frown marred his face as he struggled to control the now deformed sun, trying to make sure that it didn't collapse.

Then, with another intention of will, his body became bulkier, sprouting sharp claws at the ends of his toes. Dark red scales appeared on his skin, rising from within it to encompass his entire form like an armor, transforming his entire appearance into something else.
