I didn't see at first but there is an elevator to the right of the room, I suppose it's the net step after I finish here. I look again behind me, puzzled by what I must do here. He point in the direction of the enter, I have to start by using the sphere, it is a bigger version of my watch.
So i approach the crystal ball and I put my hand on it as I close my eyes with a mixed feeling of fear and anxiety. Each step I take take me closer to a far more dangerous place I've ever been to. I open my eyes when I ear behind my back the terrifying laugh of the shark-dog. In front of me is the same window that was displayed after i touched my watch. I instinctively know it is bad, but at what point? I look at him with a thumb up, meaning this way to ask if it's good. He looks straight into my eyes with his big smile while saying yes slowly with his head. I really wanted to see his stats to compare to mine but I guess i didn't have the chance to pick at it when he displayed his.
When i look at the ceiling I notice a round shape that's moving when I move too, following my every moves. It resemble the camera we have on Earth, am I displayed somewhere?
I try to not care much about it and go straight to the armors. If I have to fight some serious creatures like the one behind my back, I should chose wisely. I inspect them all while comparing them to my capacity. They are all on mannequin made of wood, the far left is the biggest and heaviest armor I assume, since it is made of plate of steel like those in Middle-age.
They look heavy and must be, I've read some book about it saying they can weight up to 40kg and much more. I could wear this but I would be so slow I would be killed easily.
Next to it is a mix armor just like the one my guard is wearing. It is a combined leather and steel armor. Though it's still a bit heavy for me, I wouldn't go for it even though it would protect important parts, impairing movement can be deadly.
Finally we have an armor that suit what i was looking for. It is made only of leather with a bonus it looks so much easier to move in it. The light weight make it very good for mobility. The downside is that it doesn't block much of a hit, if it's a blade it will go right through it. I also pick it up because I'm scared of getting it, I will try my best to flee or not fight at best occasions.
I pick it up from the mannequin and at first I try to wear it like that. I hear the shark-dog facepalm as he see me, he then point at his watch like he tells me to use it. I didn't know I could use it like this too, I open the window and place the leather armor on one of the slot next to my portrait.
[Name: Leather armor+1 Rank: Common
Description: A simple leather armor that make it easy to move in but beware it won't protect much the wearer of heavy damage. It's best use is for mobility. From statistics it is the least chosen armor from the three by the human race.]
The moment after I wear the armor like I've changed myself. I look at my arms, my legs and body, the armor suits me very well with a bonus I feel like I'm not wearing anything. I just feel the pressure of the leather on my uniform, because yes, I keep my uniform under it just like the shark-dog.

The thing that worry me the most is that it's the least picked of them all. Maybe I should have think about it more and take something to protect myself with. For now I might test it to see if I made the right decision.
I try to run around to accommodate to the feeling, trying to crouch, jumping and all sort of movement that can be used regularly or in certain situations. That will do it, I think it's the best for me right now. I don't know if my stats on my window match my real capacity but if it is I couldn't bear with an armor heavier than that.
The last step here is to pick a weapon, I'll try to think of a better option as much as possible. Even though I don't have any capacity in fighting I must pick something that's easy to use or that is not heavy. That eliminate bows that require skills and sledge hammer and maces too.
I move to the stall with all sort of weapon. There is far more choices than the armor here. Just like the last one, the one on the left are considered heavy and the one on the left lighter weapons. Just like i had imagined before on the far left is an enormous hammer of war with next to it a mace and a big axe. I let those for the one who can manipulate them easily.
I also eliminate the big shield, I could hide behind it for the rest of my life but there is no way to move it. From the look of it it looks also super heavy, maybe if I was in a team but i need a combination of offense and defense.
I have to pick from medium to light weight. I also eliminate the dagger, the reach is so poor I would have to be full contact with the thing I fight. I would like to be at possible a decent range. I eliminate the big two handed-sword, I never held a sword but I just know from seeing it it's not made for me, the handling would be too complicated. Plus if i get in a narrow space like a corridor or a forest I would bump in everything and end up being exposed.
The lance just like the shark is a very good option, the reach is insane and you just have to stab. That make it a great contender for my weapon of choice. I also like the short sword and shield, It seems simple enough to use and the shield block some attacks. It is thinner than the big shield but I assume it must be useful to at least have one. In antiquity that's what they gave to soldier, the handling is easy, the reach is correct and the shield block most of the attack incoming.
After debating with myself I pick the sword and shield from the stall and equip just like the armor.
[Name: Short sword and shield +1 Rank: Common
Description: The handling is so easy a child could use it. The shield can hold many hits but beware of heavy hits, the shield will break after receiving too much damage. It's positioned at the 6th position in the ranking of picked weapon for human beginners.]
Well at least it's better than the armor. The description really reassure me this time, even though I smile at the choice I made, I feel a sense of mockery in the description.
I feel happy about my choice. When i turn around again to look at the dog-shark it is asleep while holding his lance. Did i take this much to pick a choice? Even though he is the only living being I've seen so far I don't want to wake him up. He might beat me up so bad if I surprise him. Okay good bye mister shark I go to the elevator alone if you don't oppose. Oh you don't? How sweet of you.
In the elevator there is a lot of buttons with symbols I don't know or even understand. Some are lit up and some aren't, I assume it means I can't go to those floors for now. I press the one I understand the most with a down arrow, the elevator start it's unending descent.
I begin to stress, hat will wait for me in the arena? Will I come out of it unscathed? I'm sure of one thing, I'll give it my all to survive this nightmare.
