Everyone who stayed in this building was gathered in an open area the next day after breakfast. And naturally, there's a good reason for this.
After all, most of these people here had a similarity: they were the final few survivors from their destroyed village. In addition, they also rejected the offer to join one of the five Punitive Forces in this Nanyao City.
Since these people here had no other relatives, the Nanyao City Administration obviously had to settle these people down quickly for them to start being productive. Furthermore, the longer this matter was delayed, the higher the cost of taking care of them.
Only on their food alone, a hundred people here would cost the administration three hundred copper coins daily. And if everything else is accounted for, the total would easily double or triple, depending on their cases and severity.
After all, the building Nick was at is allocated to considerably fit, workable, and usable manpower. There are several other buildings elsewhere, which were issued for women, children, and the elderly.
Those would take much longer for the administration to process and devise a solution.
Since Nanyao City has a great demand for manpower, fit and able people like Nick and the rest were naturally in high demand. In addition, who doesn't want to hire a worker with an awakened Innate Spirit at a low price?
The atmosphere in this area quickly livens up when the group of hiring employers comes. As the one hiring, these people naturally had a list of names in their hands and what kind of Innate Spirit they had awakened.
Their only worry was the compatibility between them. And naturally, a concern like this can come to an agreement after a discussion.
As this was their first meeting, both sides naturally faced a trust issue. While the employer is worried about the skill and reliability of the people they picked, the worker's side would be worried if the employer hiring them is trustworthy and responsible.
The jobless people and beggars Nick saw around the Southern District naturally made him think twice before recklessly accepting their job offer.
But regardless of worries, a problem that can be solved by salary is no longer a problem.
After all, there's a willing buyer and willing seller in everything.
Weirdly, not one employer here was related to the food industry. This means people like nick, who awakened an Innate Spirit compatible with food, are ignored.
The outcome was obvious. Because how reliable Nick's kitchen knife could be? This naturally includes the other guy with a Ladle Tool Spirit. His name was Shen Mi Kang, meaning "Leftover Rice Potstickers."
(Author's Note: Shen = Leftover. Mi-Kang = Potstickers. It's the charred rice sticking at the base of the rice pot)
Eight other people were ignored for the same reason and could only look at the employers running around. The reason they're ignored is likely similar to the trust issue of Nick and Shen Mi Kang.

Since like-minded people usually flocked together, they stayed together until the hiring session ended. It was regrettable for them. But over three-quarters of the people were taken away after the hiring session.
Out of the twenty-five people left, fifteen appeared uninterested in employment. Instead, they gave out a more free-minded and adventurous personality. Apparently, the hirer approached them but got rejected.
Another group of four people visited the building a little later.
Although they were late, they seemed to know what to expect, judging from their nonchalant attitude. Evidently, these people were not in a hurry to take them in.
But to some, their arrival was good news.
Because... These people here were the recruiters from Escort Agencies operating inside Nanyao City.
"Hello, everyone. My name is Han Qing." one of them said. He doesn't appear to be the group's leader, but his status amongst them should be the highest, based on the equipment he was wearing.
"I am from the Nanyao City's Southeastern Escort Agency, Spring Dragon House. Some of you might have heard about us, so I'll skip all the formalities," he added. After Han Qing, the other three people beside him took turns introducing themselves.
They're from the respective district of Southwestern, Northwestern, and Northeastern.
Southwest District - Golden Expanse House
Northwest District - Ten Thousand Horses Stable
Northeast District - Protector's Manor
The other three people naturally had their self-introduction shadowed by Han Qing's charismatic entrance. But nevertheless, each of their words was clearly heard by the twenty-five people here.
"If anyone of you is interested in joining the Spring Dragon House, feel free to come and stand before me in a line. You can also choose the other three escort agencies you're most comfortable with." Han Qing added.
Being the most outspoken of the four, Han Qing attracted the main crowd to come to him. And out of the twenty-five individuals, twenty people decided to follow Han Qing and his Spring Dragon House.
The other three each had one person following them.
Surprisingly, Nick becomes the last person yet to make up his mind. Even more unbelievable was that Shen Mi Kang chose to go to the Golden Expanse House in the Southwestern District.
"Psst! Brother Chengzi, here!" Shen Mi Kang hinted that Nick should choose the Golden Expanse House.
"What got you making up your mind so quickly?" Nick asked after pulling Shen Mi Kang a few steps aside. He couldn't help but be curious about this fool's choice.
"I remembered that the elders in my village used to get plenty of support from the Golden Expanse Agency. If we follow them, won't we be well-fed?" Shen Mi Kang quickly replied. Unlike Nick, he spoke without toning his volume down.
This means everyone here could hear Shen Mi Kang's reason for choosing the Golden Expanse Agency. And surprisingly, the recruiter from Golden Expanse Agency did not feel indifferent after hearing what Shen Mi Kang said.
"Just as this young brother said. Our Golden Expanse Agency focuses indeed had our point of focus on supporting people in need. What could your name be?" he asked Shen Mi Kang and Nick.
"Chengzi."
"Shen Mi Kang."
They quickly answered the recruiter's question. After all, all he asked for was their name.
"It appears that both of you are fellow Tool Spirit Users. They say people with the same-mind flocks together. I suppose the sentence was true. I am also a fellow Tool User like you two." the recruiter said and opened his palm.
In a blink of an eye, his Innate Spirit Marking flashed and brought a rolling pin out.
"Rou Mian Fen, what are you doing there? Showing off?" Han Qing seemed a little dissatisfied with the Golden Expanse recruiter for bringing out his Innate Spirit.
(Author's note: Rou = Knead. Mian-Fen = Flour. And yes, his Innate Spirit is a Rolling Pin)
"What? I am just sharing my passion with fellow juniors." Rou Mian Fen replied to Han Qing teasingly. But the moment his Innate Spirit was taken out, it moved the heart of another individual in Han Qing's queue.
"I am sorry, brother Han Qing. I felt my Innate Spirit would be better in the Golden Expanse House. Please forgive me for leaving." the individual said and hopped over to Rou Mian Fen's line.
With no more people thinking about changing, their recruitment ended right here, as all one hundred people had found a place they belonged.
Naturally, the trio followed Rou Mian Fen closely as they strode and went to the Southwestern District, where the Golden Expanse House Agency was located.
