"Wakey wakey..." Shen Mi Kang said while teasing Nick around his nose with a stalk of wheat. It was unsure where he got that from, but the object got the job done by tickling Nick until he was awake.
"Urgh... My head... And my arms..." Nick immediately complained while struggling to get off his bed. His moaning quickly got others' attention as Ah-Fei, and Tian Wenhao came in without knocking on the door.
"Hey, you're awake." Ah-Fei said. But Tian Wenhao's reaction was slightly different. He immediately placed his hand around Nick without saying anything and gradually put some force on him.
"Let's grab our dinner, or it'll be too late." Tian Wenhao said. The other two followed suit, with Shen Mi Kang holding Nick's legs and Ah-Fei at his other shoulder.
The four were playful like children on their way to the canteen, but seriousness instantly returned to them as they queued for the food.
Rou Mian Fen arrived a while later.
Unlike them, he had the liberty of ordering a bottle of wine to go with his dinner. After all, his salary was much higher than Nick's and the rest.
"I promised you guys that I'll be sharing the information on cultivation, correct? Here I am, but are you guys in the mood to listen?" Rou Mian Fen said while chowing down his food.
Surprisingly, he didn't touch a drop of his wine while eating.
Apparently, the bottle of wine is there for Nick and the rest to do their part. After all, information itself costs money, regardless of which world Nick is in.
As calculative as it may seem, Rou Mian Fen can't be doing charity for nothing. And since Nick and the others had no money, pouring him some wine would be the least they could do.
"Yes, we are." Shen Mi Kang instantly responded to Rou Mian Feng. He was the smartest and brightest out of them. In addition, he kicked Nick's leg to make him notice the obvious hint.
"Alright. For starters, I'll start by telling you guys the necessary information." Rou Mian Fen said. He slowly moved his hand to the cup while speaking to give Shen Mi Kang time to fill the cup.
"To make it simple, cultivation is like constructing the foundation of a building. Based on the historian's record, there are nine cultivation realms altogether. Each of them had nine small and one big stage within." Rou Mian Feng started.
"This means there are ninety stages from the beginning to the apex." Rou Mian Fen stopped after the sentence and finished his first cup of wine.
"What! Ninety levels... How long would it take to get there?" Ah-Fei interrupted. Apparently, a worker told him that cultivation is an arduous path. And that individual was merely in the third stage of the first realm after five years of cultivating.
This made the possibility of achieving the ninetieth stage within their lifetime nothing but an empty dream.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
Apparently, Ah-Fei was not the only one that thought like this. The others also had a similar opinion, judging by their expression.
But surprisingly, Nick was not one of them. Out of the four, he was the only one who took this piece of information positively.
"Had you heard about this before?" Rou Mian Fen asked out of curiosity after seeing Nick's undisturbed face.
"No, I didn't." Nick denies hearing about this information and reaches for the wine bottle. He immediately refilled the cup with wine.
"Well, I don't know how long it'll take to reach the ninetieth stage either. But here in Yao Province, we only have information on the first four cultivation realms." Rou Mian Fen said.
"They're known as Spiritual Body Realm, Spiritual Mind Realm, Spiritual Manifestation Realm, and Golden Body Realm." he added. Their expression instantly changed when Rou Mian Fen read the name of each cultivation realm to them.
Apparently, each realm carries a deeper meaning, with the first focusing on the body, the mind, and the rest. Nick's only uncertainty was on the "Manifestation" and the "Golden Body."
It hinted greatly at their Innate Spirit since awakening was part of the requirement to step into the cultivation world. But how much it involved would depend on how closely the two were connected.
"Does that means, we're now a cultivator in Spiritual Body Realm?" Tian Wenhao asked. Both his parents also awakened their Innate Spirits. But unfortunately, their potential was too low to be noticed by the City Administration.
Or else Tian Wenhao would be more well-informed than the rest.
"Unfortunately, you're far from being considered a cultivator." Rou Mian Fen's instant reply was like pouring cold water on them.
"To be counted as a cultivator, you'll have to complete the transformation into a Spiritual Body first. Currently, you're no different from a mortal bathed with Yuan Qi and merely capable of utilizing the magical force for a little," he added.
"You'll naturally realize if your body transformation is complete. Of course, you can also try and bring your Innate Spirit out. Only those with a Spiritual Body could summon your Innate Spirit freely, as the body can now store Yuan Qi."
"Without completing the transformation, your only choice was to rely on cultivation resources, such as the Yuan Qi Turquoise Fruit." Rou Mian Fen said.
"Now, I'll talk about the cultivation resources. I'm sure everyone here has already heard about the Yuan Qi Turquoise Fruit, correct?" he asked. His hand was resting on the wine cup, with no intention of drinking it yet.
Nick and the rest nodded in response to Rou Mian Fen's question.
"Good. Eating one will give you some Yuan Qi to summon the Innate Spirit. This is the basic knowledge everyone should know by now. But calling the Innate Spirit was not the sole reason to consume the fruit."
"In fact, the Yuan Qi Turquoise Fruit was used by cultivators to replenish our Yuan Qi. There's naturally more than just Yuan Qi Turquoise Fruit out there. To find out more about their variety, just read more or go outside to run a few agency missions."
"But beware. The outside is more dangerous than you think. Unless you're prepared to lose your life, do not go out there until you're confident enough." Rou Mian Fen said and lifted the cup from the table.
He finished the wine in a single gulp.
This time, the wine bottle was in Tian Wenhao's hand. It was his turn to fill the empty cup while Rou Mian Fen continued.
"In that case... What should we do now, supervisor?" Shen Mi Kang asked.
"Strengthen the bond with your Innate Spirit first. Eating the fruit will replenish some of the Yuan Qi inside your body, but instead of using it to summon the Innate Spirit, just use it to nourish your bond."
"It might sound difficult in words but very simple in practice. The Innate Spirit doesn't need to manifest itself but simply hover around your palm to bathe in the Yuan Qi. Do not undermine the benefit you gave the Innate Spirit. All the nourishment it receives will reflect back on your body, including the transformation to a Spiritual Body." Rou Mian Fen said.
"What about you, Chengzi? Any question in your mind?" Rou Mian Fen drank his third cup of wine and allowed Ah-Fei to fill it. This was his last cup, as the bottle was now empty.
"I would like to know... If there anything we can do to speed up the process?" Nick asked.
