A virtual screen came into Nick's view before he could process what was happening to him. But with how detailed the explanation was, no further information is needed. He could roughly guess what happened and where he ended up into.

This subspace, "Harmony," is likely an Open-World MMORPG game he played with his friends during his younger time. But then, the technology was limited, and his interest dwindled before he capped a hundred game hours.

Hence, his memories of this game world are quite limited.

He couldn't see the edge of this subspace at all, which hinted at how wide this first floor was. This surprised Nick, as it was just the first floor of this subspace.

Furthermore, the name brought back the memory of his first restaurant, which was also called "Harmony."

More information boxes appear as soon as Nick steps onto the grassland. Some were nearby, and some were farther away, like five to ten meters from him.

Undoubtedly, these boxes are likely the "unrecorded database" he had to collect on this floor. Some stayed still without moving around, but some were active. Furthermore, these boxes appeared competitive because they would fight against one another.

This explained why the goddess, whom the priest called "Heavenly Empress," spoke to him previously. For her, creating this subspace should be a simple matter.

(Condiment Slimes?)

Nick read the information box hovering above the monster after approaching the target carefully. The written entry was simple, just the name of the target and its threat level. And as long he gets close to the proximity of two meters, everything would be as clear as day to Nick.

The first monster he encountered was a slime the size of a watermelon. It was using the method of jumping and rolling to move around. Appearance-wise, the monster appears cute, but Nick quickly realizes that is not true.

These monsters were obviously armed with killing intentions whenever they encountered something edible or another target to devour. Their eating manner was also quite unique, and that's by exposing the prey to their bodily liquid and allowing the dissolving liquid to do the rest.

Nick stayed at a relatively safe distance to study the monster's behavior. To his surprise, this floor has four kinds of Condiment Slimes.

The most commonly seen trio was the Saline Slime, Spice Slime, and Oil Slime. The fourth and rarer one was "Mutant Slime," with unknown drops.

As it would feel insecure without a weapon, Nick dug into his pocket for the remaining Yuan Qi Turquoise Fruit and swallowed it decisively. After allowing the Yuan Qi to fill his abdominal area, Nick quickly summoned his Tool Spirit in his right hand.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

The Kitchen Knife Spirit might be unsuitable for fighting, but this was his best option. After all, there are no trees or rocks on this grassland. Naturally, it means no stones or dried branches are available for him to use as a weapon.

"Come here, Saline Slime! I choose you as my first subjugation... OOF!"

Nick tried to take down the Saline Slime by surprise but was taught a memorable lesson in his maiden fight. Because he underestimated his opponent, Nick suffered from the first attack.

Although the Tool Spirit was held in a favorable position, the Saline Slime's sudden outburst was too fast for his eyes. The watermelon suddenly turned into something as deadly as a volleyball as it struck his gut.

Truth hurts. But his pride hurts more.

Nick could hardly believe that he was bullied by a weak slime the size of a watermelon. He tried swinging the kitchen knife around, but the weapon's length and reach were too pitiful to be taken seriously.

Perhaps, just perhaps...

An infant with an iron ladle would be deadlier than Nick with a six-inch knife.

The attack from the Saline Slime continued. Because of how chaotic the attack was, it made Nick feels the hopelessness in his attempt to hide or dodge.

Nick eventually found out the Saline Slime's attacking habit. And with the newly found confidence, he retaliated fiercely. But his attack missed the target again.

Not once, but twice.

This quickly turned into a provocation to his pride and angered Nick.

"I'll change my name to Slime Chengzi if I can't defeat you today!" Nick yelled and charged at the Saline Slime with several powerful and flashy attacks he could think of. It was hard to believe that he had a close-to-death fighting experience against a Saline Slime.

This is perhaps the greatest battle between two level-one weaklings.

Nick eventually won this battle against the Saline Slime after it foolishly charged into his kitchen knife.

**Quality Salt x 20gm is added to your inventory. A 1/10 storage slot was used.**

(Aargh!!!)

It was a difficult battle, but Nick finally won the fight.

But that victory comes with more sadness. Although the loot is somewhat justified based on the monster's name, it still hurts his pride greatly for battling over fifteen minutes against a slime for a mere few teaspoons of salt.

Luckily, there's no other eyewitness in this subspace. Or else, he would definitely be the laughingstock of the world. But again, deep inside Nick, he felt a few pairs of eyes monitoring him and every step he took.

After a ten-minute rest, Nick made his way to his next target. It was another Saline Slime. The only difference this time is he approaches the monster more carefully than before.

Of course, it was a failure like before.

The saline Slime was obviously heading in a direction Nick won't be seen. However, when he attacks, the monster can still respond instantly by directing the attack right at Nick. And once again, it was a difficult fifteen minutes battle.

There's no longer luck involved here but effort instead.

It still took Nick enormous effort to win this battle, and he was hit lesser than before. Furthermore, he successfully landed a few hits on the Saline Slime before delivering the decisive attack.

(D*mn! It seems that the item doesn't stack together. Does that means I can select ten monsters to fight before calling it a day?)

This Saline Slime was the second monster he defeated today. And because he was too occupied with something else, Nick failed to notice a strand of Yuan Qi seeping into his body.

Since he was in a much better condition than in his first fight, Nick simply rested for five minutes before searching for his third target.

This time, his target was Spice Slime. This slime's color is more grey-reddish compared to the bluish Saline Slime. In addition, the attacking pattern of this monster was also different from the two defeated opponents.

The Spice Slime quickly reacted to Nick's advance by spitting out two water balls.

It missed Nick as the distance of the attack was short. But the gases that came out from the water balls after they broke spells trouble.

One water ball contains red gases, while the other contains grey gases. And based on the name "Spice Slime" alone, Nick could roughly guess what kind of deadliness was hidden inside these colorful smokes.
