"For this, I am deeply sorry."
God said and took a drink from his glass of iced tea. He looked like someone's grandfather that was on vacation wearing a Hawaiian t-shirt and jeans instead of a robe. There were no walls or floors around us we both were floating on a large cloud drinking tea together at a small table.
"It's fine, I mean everyone's life comes to an end eventually."
I had died. While walking home from work, I chose to take a different route home, and I saw an old lady crossing the street slowly. Someone was driving dangerously fast and didn't stop when they saw the woman. Being the gentle hearted person I was I dove into action shoving her out of the way and then boom dead.
"Though it might seem harsh you only spared that woman's life by a day; she is meant to die you just happened to intervene while I was doing my job." It was harsh, but this was gods job.
"so where am I? heaven?" I asked sipping some tea.
"No, just an area for meetings."
He pulled a large leather bound book out of his pocket and began flipping through the pages. The title read "layers of the afterlife." he created everything you think he would remember the different sections of the afterlife. God created more iced tea from thin air and poured himself another glass.
"You are an extraordinary human though, to die and be brought to a random location floating in the clouds yet remain so calm. bit weird honestly."
"Guess I am a little strange, but hey at least I don't think shirts with flowers on it are fashionable."
God chuckled and snapped the book he was reading shit and sat cross legged on his chair.
"True, true, well before we start, have any questions? I will answer any you have."
Any questions I had would be answered? I could learn anything I want.
"Are you the only god?"
"Nope, not even close, we have a god for every single religion there is or was."
"But I'm an atheist."

"Yup I'm the atheist god, I don't do anything to help you guys I just sit around and relax all day."
at least he is honest.
"Well since I'm dead I don't have any questions relating to earth. so whats next do I go to heaven, hell, get reborn, or just die off after we finish talking."
"Well as an atheist it's your choice, you can do any of those things.
Well, that is convenient, I can be reincarnated, or I can move on. I was only twenty when I died so moving onto heaven just seemed like a waste of time.
"reincarnation sounds cool. how does it work?"
"Well you won't be reborn on earth you will be put on a new world. you need to choose what you will be reincarnated as."
"what are my choices for this new world?"
"Human, elf, dwarf, ghoul, fairy, even a god."
Hmm, I seemed to have a large selection, how would a god make me a god though? Whatever the case the life of a god seems boring only visiting the newly departed and sitting around all day. Dwarves might be cool, but they are extremely short and live in the mountains right,l I hate tight spaces.
"I guess reborn as a female human, could I get a few extra years? like maybe live until I'm two hundred or so?" I asked hopefully.
"so a female ancestral human? also, you are a male why not just be reborn as a man?"
"I'm gay, being a woman will make things easier, also whats an ancestral human?"
"just a regular human but you live for hundreds of years, on your new world very few ancestral humans are left since they cannot breed and are only staying around due to reincarnation. any more questions?"
Being dropped into a world with no knowledge of it would be a bit problematic. Would it be possible to get a guide or a book of some sort?
"Um, could I get a guide and a book of the history of the world before you send me away?"
"of course."
With a snap of his fingers, a very thick book appeared in front of him, and a fairy sat weightlessly on his shoulder. The books cover read, history and culture of Rayliv.
"quick warning before I send you off, the continent you will be awakening on has hundreds of independent kingdoms all of which are at war or on the brink of war. so let me teach you a bit of magic, or you will die immediately."
We both stood up on the cloud; it was rather hard to stand on. Every so often I would sway from side to side or bounce up and down. God stood by my side and held his hands close together in front of him, and a ball of fire appeared at his finger tips. The ball of fire expanded the longer he held it in his hands. Shaking his hands, the fire ball went out with a small poof.
"that's what I'm going to show you how to do it's a simple fire ball but rather useful against common bandits and such. now hold your finger tips close together and take deep breaths picturing a ball of fire forming in your hands."
Taking his advice, I took deep breaths and held my hands close together and eventually after many attempts a small ball of fire appeared in my hands. The fire ball was rather small compared to the gods only about as big as a bouncy ball, so I was rather disappointed, but the look on gods face showed that what I had just done was exceptional.
"well done, you have a large amount of mana for an average human, well this is good bye you will awake in your new world as soon as I send you away."
With a pat on my shoulder and a firm hand shake, I was sent to Rayliv.
