As the fourth day ends, I take a look at my stats to see how far I’ve come since the first day.

I have come quite far already for four days of fighting and sleeping, and unlike before I came back, I know how to fight, which makes this situation a lot easier, as well as my physical and mental stats being high to begin with. But one issue is the fact that the monster with the menacing aura has finally started to move, not in a random direction but towards me. Slowly, I think it sees me as a minor threat.
Now that I think about it, most of the monsters are below level 20, meaning they were either F or E rank, and this one, I think, might be a D rank, as unlike the jump from F to E rank, you gain a good amount of points assigned to your stats, meaning the difference between a high-level E rank and a new D rank is very noticeable.
I need to get to level 25 before he arrives, and by the speed he’s coming, it should arrive on the sixth day. I need to hurry up and achieve D-rank before he arrives.
I bring mana to my eyes to see a new world. This new perception allows me to see mana signatures and ambient mana. If I use enough mana, I spot a strong signature near my level, which is surprising in itself as most again don’t go above level 20. I sprint towards the monster. As I get closer, I spot a wolf larger than average. It seems this one is some sort of leader.
It doesn’t sense my presence until I get reasonably close to it. It leaps back and faces me. I cast [Ember] before it has the chance to attack; it dodges it already, fully wary of me, but before I cast another one and fire it again, this time it hits the target and his fur starts to burn. I can tell it hurts as the wolf, like all the others, starts trying to put it out, but I feed the fire more mana to make it stronger and spread it more. The wolf already looks like it's struggling; it figures out that it has no chance of survival.

It charges me as a last resort. I create a small mana bolt and launch it at the charging wolf. It panics even more, and the fire ends up feeding the bolt to make a bigger and more fiery explosion, which I found while close to level ten and more reliant on magic and mana. The explosion ended up killing the wolf. The battle ended really quickly due to how flammable the wolf’s fur is.
[Level up]
Hmm, it seems that Wolf was able to push me through another level, which means I’ve finally reached level 25, which means I can rank up and gain a class.
[Rank up]
You have reached the requirements to rank up.
Initiating rank up
{Please choose a class first.
[Class selection available]
Please choose from the following:
{Fire mage} uncommon
A mage who specialises in the fire element, which is a common element
{Mage} rare
A mage who isn’t bound by one element but doesn’t have any special affinities
{Wind mage} Rare
A mage variant that specialises in wind magic and can use plant magic to a light degree
{Fate incarnation} legendary
You are the incarnation of fate itself.
*Warning*: choosing this class will most likely anger the Gods of Fate.
{Fate Mage} Legendary *Lord rank*
A mage who is only a mage in name is not bound by the rules of fate, and as long as one exists, fate is not set in stone.
*Nobility-ranked class*
That’s new I’ve never heard of a nobility class, and the last two classes are the only ones related to my fate skill. Fate incarnation seems interesting, though I don’t want to anger gods, especially when they usually stay out of mortal affairs. The only time they stepped in before was when the ‘Monarch’ went on a rampage and he was easily beaten by them, but the Fate Mage class seems most suited to my skill set. As I tried leaning into my mental stats, I clicked on it, and with no warning, it succeeded. They should have added at least some form of warning to it. I checked my new status to see what I got.

Fate Magic (Legendary, Limited)
Aside from the new class, I got two legendary-ranked skills, but the limited Fatemagic worries me. Is it so rare that not even a legendary class can let you wield it fully? But the Eyes of Fate seem to be key to figuring out my original Fate skill.
[The Winds of Fate Have Changed]

Fate Mage (Legendary Baron)
[D-rank up]
Congratulations on your rank-up due to the legendary class; all stats have doubled.
I shout, “MY STATS DOUBLED!!!!”
That means I already have the strength equivalent of a level 50, or does the D-rank rank up give you a certain amount of stats for the class you have while I have a legendary class? Maybe if I had an epic class, my stats would increase by 50%, but that’s just speculation. Either way, I have an advantage strength-wise. It seems I could fight the monster that’s been getting closer at a faster rate now.
But it seems I have no choice in the matter, which means I need to fight it. Let’s see how strong this guy is and how much I would be fair against another D-rank.lK
