“It always leads back to this?... I don’t get it.”
“That’s you and me both.”
From the sky I got a good view of the land. Forest and plains as far as I could see with a certain mountain range far past the horizon. Slightly north-west of here was what I was looking for. Bordering the edge of this forest was a medieval looking city, all I could make out from here were the stone walls that surrounded it.
“There it is! That’s the city I was talking about!”
I directed the hawk in the general direction while laying flat on its back for a moment. I finally had a moment to rest… and to think.
“I didn’t want to say this before, but can you even speak the language here?”
I let out a sigh of relief and thought about my plan for where I would go next.
“Like, this is another world. Another language goes without saying, and I didn’t see you pick up any skills that would help you with this.”
First would be the adventurer’s guild.
“Like, I’m just worried… What if they think you're a freak and kick you out… or execute you or something?”
I needed to sign up there to sell this monster crystal.
“Oh and what about me? What if they see me? Will they start worshiping me? If so I don’t think I can stay with you, I’ll have my own religion to lead!”
Then with that money I would just have enough to-
“-Oh my god! One moment of peace. Please.”
“Hey! You don’t get to boss me around. You don’t own me!”
“I bought you for 10 bonus points.”
“Shut Up! That’s false information.”
“You know it’s true.”
“I don’t! Let me see that skill. Appraisal!”
Locked! Target has Skill: Appraisal resistance!
“WHAAAT!”
“Don’t be overdramatic when I showed you I had Max-Level resistance earlier…”
“That’s it.. It’s time for my unique skill! God-Seeing-Appraisal!”

I instinctively flicked her away before the screen finished displaying.
“Hey!”
“We’re almost here.”
As I landed in front of the city gate, and released the hawk back into the sky, the sheer size of the city was truly apparent. Its grand walls scarred with markings from previous battles were an achievement on how long this city has been around. Prosperity emanated from within the gate, through the bars anyone could see the smiles of the average person. This truly was the best city anyone could start an adventure in.
“This city looks so cool!”
“Yeah, that.”
I walked up to the gate and stood in line behind two other people.
“You know what I said about not being able to speak the language?”
The person at the gate showed their status and handed two silver coins to the guard, who let them through.
“Uhh… Are you just going to show them your status? You're a Level 16 dragon slayer… I don’t think anyone’s going to believe that.”
The person ahead of me did the same while I prepared and took my sword out of storage and put it at my back.
“Just let me do the talking.”
“Uh hello? Are you listening?”
Then the guard gestured for me to come over.
“Welcome to Leysing City, one human and one fairy?”
“Fairy?!? I am no such-”
I had to put my hands over her mouth.
“Yes, we’re here on adventuring business, we’ve been called in by the guild master.”
“Ah, in that case, you just need to show your guild card and I’ll let you straight through.”
“Sorry, I’ve been told to keep utmost secrecy over this. I can’t let anyone know who we are.”
“Hmm, well do you have any other proof you're an adventurer?”
“Show Status: Custom title set.”
Titles: Human, Warrior, Mage, Tamer, Dragon Slayer
“Mhmm… Warrior… And mage?... AND TAMER TOO?... A DRAGON SLAYER???”
He seemed to fumble around with his paperwork.
“Sorry for wasting your time. Please go on ahead!”
“Thanks.”
We passed through the gate successfully and I took a breath of the city air. I then headed into the heart of town.
“What the hell was that guy thinking? Calling me a fairy…”
“You do look like one.”
“It’s the inside that counts! Ok?”
With an image of a innocent, kind and friendly fairy in mind I had to say-
“Well in that case you most certainly aren't a fairy.”
“That's true! I’m above such.”
The town was filled with many different people, some humans, beastmen, elves, whatever race one could imagine, some in carriages, some walking, all in one place.
“Those titles you showed back there… They weren’t all of the one’s I saw a moment ago. What did you-”
“I literally said ‘Custom title set’ I’m not about to explain everything I do.”
“That’s fair, but you just did.”
“Ugh…”
After passing many buildings, shops, and people selling on the street, I finally got to my destination. The adventurer’s guild.
