After his meal, Ander found an alcove to rest a bit. He sat down and took out the new relay node. He knew that there had been people down this far before. Generally people only made it down to level 10 at the deepest, but there were a few like the old guild master who could come down here. The thing was that Ander just stumbled upon the relay node. It was in a giant room with vantage points from nearly every direction. It was hard to miss. So why would something so valuable have been left somewhere so close to the surface?

The only clue was that it had been floating around in the big slime, so it may have travelled quite a way with the slime. Or it could have just been missed, and Ander was just overthinking. The ruins were massive after all. The thing was, that if the slime had come to the surface, it was likely because there was something nastier underneath. He remembered Karsish saying something about there being more power in the depths of the earth, and that monsters liked it. Karsish had only given half an explanation, but Ander had caught the gist of it. The more powerful monsters wanted to be farther down.

But it was interesting that a dungeon boss might get kicked out. The new creature must be very powerful indeed. Ander set that thought aside for the time being. He would need to move forward more carefully as he descended, but for now, he decided to review his notifications.

Ander was surprised to see that three skills, his newest one no less, had reached novice. It was exciting seeing the improvement, and the three levels he had gained was no small part of that. He had taken down a level 52 boss monster. He was pretty proud of that. It was a higher level than Sir Argvald by a fairly wide margin, but Ander suspected that meant less than one might think. From what he could tell, class levels (or creature levels), really only gave stat points. The actual class might give skills from time to time, but levelling up only gave stats. Ander had been focusing on killing monsters for levels, and not giving much attention to the state of his skills. But it seemed that much of the power a person had depended strongly on those skill levels. Even the novice level upgrades seemed powerful.

What that meant was that Ander needed to bring up his skill levels and fast. But it did beg the question of how Sir Argvald managed to get skill levels so high with an overall level so low. If ander kept going, he would reach level 100 far before his skills did.

That was when Ander felt a change he had been waiting on forever. One of the two remaining class skills had just been completed. He immediately opened up his notifications.

Ander grinned. Finally, the thing he had been looking forward to since he got Way of the Wind. Ander immediately left the alcove and jumped into the air. When he activated Windsoar, it brought the air around him in the perfect currents to hold him up and bear him along. With the armour it was even better, as it gave better control surfaces, as well as protrusions that acted like little sails. Ander spent the nest half hour flying around until his mana ran out.
