Corwin charged in and attacked as the summoner cast his first skill. Two goblins appeared, both of them elite tier enemies. Corwin switched to targeting the first goblin as he dodged their blows and the summoners staff. Corwin had dispatched one goblin when the second summoning skill went off. The summoner had summoned a single special elite monster, a dark unicorn.
Corwin finished off the last goblin and switched targets to the dark unicorn as the summoner’s third skill went active. Corwin had already committed to saving disrupting blow until he knew what each skill did. This had risks, but he didn’t want to use disrupting blow on what wasn’t the most dangerous summon. The unicorn was down to 70% health when the summoner cast ‘haste allies’ accelerating the speed of both the summoner and the unicorn. Corwin had brought the unicorn to 35% health when the next summon skill arrived.
The summoner had summoned a goblin chieftain, an actual chieftain monster. Corwin sighed and worked to finish off the unicorn as fast as possible. It died just as the summoner cast its last skill. ‘Blessing of the summoner’ was a massive buff that increased, Str, Agi, Con and gave a damage shield. Corwin was glad he had waited as he would have guessed wrong and stopped the summoners last skill with disrupting blow. Corwin’s plan was now to kill off the goblin chieftain as quickly as possible and use disrupting blow to prevent the summoner from summoning addition goblin chieftains. He was convinced he could manage the buffs even if they landed on special elite monsters.
Corwin burst out his skills and managed to crack through the shield from the special skill. He continued to dodge the chieftain’s attacks and got the chieftain to 50% health by the time two goblins were summoned. Not happy with his pace Corwin started to use rapid blow. He killed off the goblin chieftain just as the dark unicorn was summoned. Deciding he wanted to avoid splitting his attention Corwin next focused down a goblin. It died, and Corwin continued on a 2nd goblin, reducing it to 50% health before ‘haste allies’ was cast. The faster goblin and unicorn were a bit of a threat, but Corwin managed to kill the goblin without getting hit. He attacked the unicorn while keeping a close eye on the summoner, interrupting the summon chieftain spell before finishing off the unicorn. With no summons alive, the summoner was forced to save its buff spell.
Fairly soon, the summoner was at 85% health and Corwin was handling two buffed goblins. He dispatched those, and the unicorn that followed, before focusing on the summoner, reducing it to 81% health. Corwin waited for the summoner to use its buff skill before hitting it down to 80% health. Sure enough at 80% health it used a special summon, summoning Shamshaw, a lord class goblin. Corwin got his enemies to line up in the AoE radius for Thunder Slash and hit them all. He continued with a wave chop hitting multiple opponents as well. He focused down the goblins while dodging the lord. Unfortunately, he had lost track of the summoner at this point in the fight and took a rather nasty staff blow to the head. The good news was no stun, the bad news was his health was down to 60% from a critical hit. Corwin used a potion and continued to kill goblins, getting them both dead before the unicorn was summoned.
Corwin knew he needed to save the ring of elements ability for later as the berserk was likely to be very dangerous. As such, he had no choice but to commit to fighting a hasted lord. Corwin burst down the Dark Unicorn, hitting the lord as well whenever he had an AoE skill that could target both. Fairly soon, the lord was at 80% health. Fortunately, summons didn’t generally have health loss skills or berserk triggers, and this one was no exception. The haste spell was cast and Corwin focused the lord, starting to use vanishing steps and rapid blow. The lord was at 40% health before Corwin disrupted summoning the goblin chieftain. Corwin burst the lord down to 10% health, unfortunately not killing it before blessing of the summoner.
After blessing of the summoner, the lord fought like a superior lord. Its enhanced attributes and haste made it speedy and challenging, as Corwin had to dodge the summoner’s staff as well. Opponents that were easy in one-on-ones could be tricky in multiple opponent combat. Nonetheless, Corwin aggressively used Rapid Blow and broke the shield. Two goblins were summoned into the fight, but Corwin remained focused on the lord. Four enemies were too much to keep track of when two of them were such high tier and the goblins began to chip away at Corwin’s health. Fortunately, elites didn’t deal too much damage to his much higher HP total and he took the damage while fighting the superior lord. Finally, a burst of skills felled the lord. Unfortunately, before Corwin could deal with the goblins a Dark Unicorn was summoned. Corwin continued to chip away at the additional monsters, trying to get ahead of the curve. He did so by the time blessing of the summoner was up and started to focus on bursting the summoner down. Once again, he waited for blessing of the summoner to trigger on the 2 goblins and then burst the summoner below 60% health. Once again the summoner summoned a lord class monster.
Corwin engaged in the long grindy fight, focusing the lord down while taking hits from the goblins and eventually from a dark unicorn as well. The lord fell, this time just before blessing of the summoner and Corwin had to deal with hasted, blessed elites and special elites. His health was down to 40% from that burst, but his potion was off cooldown which improved things considerably. Furthermore, without the lord pressuring him, he was no longer hit. Breaking the shields from blessing took time and he could only kill one goblin before two more joined the fight. Fortunately, those unshielded goblins fell quickly. The shielded one was slain as well, just as a 2nd dark unicorn joined the fray. Keeping ahead of the summons was quite a challenge, but fortunately one Corwin was equal to for the moment.
Eventually Corwin brought down both Unicorns, but not before the 2nd one received blessing of the summoner. This left two unblessed goblins up, which Corwin slayed then brought the summoner to 40% health, once more bringing a goblin lord to the field. Corwin thought about using disrupting blow here but knew it had a fairly low chance of success and didn’t want to risk facing a lord and a chieftain at once. Unfortunately, while he was bursting down the hasted lord the summoner began to summon a chieftain and disrupting blow failed.

Corwin faced a lord, a chieftain and the summoner, and the lord and summoner were hasted. This was an extremely dangerous situation that pushed Corwin to the limits. He started to take hits from the chieftain while his health fell. He continued to burst down the lord, hoping he could somehow defeat it before blessing of the summoner. His commitment to aggression resulted in his health falling to 20% while the lord class monster reached 5% health. The cast animation began for blessing of the summoner and Corwin attacked as fast as he could with rapid blow. It wasn’t quite enough and the lord class monster was blessed at 1% health.
Corwin’s health fell to 10% while he whittled away at the shield. He was forced to go more defensive and use vanishing steps regularly to stay alive. He burst the shield just before the two goblins were summoned. His potion was off cooldown, so he healed and then rapidly burst the lord to the ground. This stabilized the situation enough that he could focus on the chieftain. He wanted to kill the thing before it got haste, but unfortunately didn’t have enough time. Fairly soon Corwin was swarmed by 2 goblins a chieftain and a dark unicorn, all of whom had haste. The goblins began to connect chipping away at Corwin’s health which had only risen to 35%. Corwin slayed the chieftain by the time his health had fallen to 10%, then took the opportunity to disrupting blow the summoner. Fortunately, it didn’t fail twice in a row.
Corwin was able to stabilize and get ahead of the curve. His life slowly rose, reaching 80% before he had an opportunity to burst the summoner down to 20%. At this point the summoner activated its berserk skill, an attack summon ‘Blade of the Goblin God’. A portal opened in the sky through which a giant sword came out. Sword light flashed as the blade flew towards Corwin. Corwin activated thunder slash, then parry and earth manipulation trying desperately to control the attack. It nonetheless broke through, and Corwin’s health rapidly fell, stabilizing at 5%. Breathing a sigh of relief, Corwin re-engaged the summoner, switching his focus to each of its summons as they came up. There was no real pressure even though disrupting blow failed once.
At 5% health, the summoner started its special ability. Corwin didn’t want to find out what it was and activated ring of air, all his skills and techniques and went full aggro on the summoner. Unfortunately, the special ability had a very short cooldown and the summoner was still at 1% health when it activated. A blinding white portal appeared in the sky, as the power move began to activate “Spears of the Goblin god” had been cast. Corwin barely survived one god blow and wasn’t about to survive multiple so he continued to attack the summoner. The summoner was down to a mere 500 health when the first spear fell. Corwin dropped to 2% health despite parrying. Defending himself left him with no window to attack, and the 2nd spear would surely be fatal. Was this his limit?
Suddenly the portal collapse in on itself. Corwin looked at the summoner once again, it’s mana was down to zero, and the skill had terminated early. He breathed a sigh of relief, glad that the long grind had made the end of the fight easier. Without the spears he had no worries and quickly landed a final blow to slay the summoner. He heard a familiar ding as he advanced to level 8, continuing to put his points in agility.
He got a rare double lucky trigger on loot, but unfortunately there weren’t any items besides mana crystals. The double trigger resulted in 12 mana crystals bringing Corwin’s total to 19, 1 more than he needed for 4 upgrades of the new item that awaited him on the next stair.
Corwin decided to rest to full and wait for the cooldown on the ring, just in case there was something funny on the last stair. He then climbed up to the stair and encountered the spirit.
The rewards for the divine trial was a choice of three objects: the intermediate attributes potion (+50 all basic attributes), the intermediate hidden attributes potion (+50 all hidden attributes) or the mystery box. Corwin briefly hesitated as 50 luck, 50 stamina and 50 comprehension was a huge bonus. But ultimately, he knew he wanted the growth tier item and so he opened the mystery box.
Offhand shortsword of the Swordsman.
Divine Tier Growth Equipment – Currently Trash Level 0

Corwin headed back to town and bought 50 trash offhand level 0 and level 1 swords, feeding 45 of them to the offhand sword. He then equipped his level 9 sword, ecstatic at the increase in power. He checked his notifications and was excited to see that double slash had risen to level 2. Unfortunately, it was hard to level rare skills, and they were all still at level 1.
