It took several minutes for me to calm down after Mew had changed all the dogs into eevee’s, but once I did I took a step back to get a really good look at them. The five dogs, no eevee’s now, sat down in a semi circle looking back at me. The five of them had completely changed their body shape and colouring, going from their mix of black and white/ black and tan to a body of soft brown fur with a large white ring around the neck. Their ears had elongated, growing nearly twice in length while their tales had tripled in width. Though reaching forward to pat one of them and running my hands down to the tail I realised that the tail was mostly fluff. Their body weight had actually decreased by almost half I guessed picking Brandy up and getting a quick lick to the cheek from her. Before their transformation they were weighing in around the high 20 kilos, with Ale and Scotch being heavier due to being bigger, but I guessed they had to be at least half of that now. I couldn’t be sure without a set of scales but Brandy didn’t seem to be particularly heavier in my arms. But the most significant change in my opinion was their eyes. All of a sudden there was an intelligence looking back at me that wasn’t there before. I mean I know the dogs were already smart before hand as working dogs are breed to be intelligent and hardworking but as eevee's it seems to be on a whole different level. I couldn't put my finger on it, but the way they seem to look about focusing on the forest around them seem to have a lot more intent behind it than what I was used to seeing from them. It suddenly occurred to me I might have to be careful in what I say to them now. Dogs tend react to the tone of your voice rather than what you're actually saying outside of trained commands, but these guys definitely look like they would understand what I'm actually saying. The tv shows that I saw as a child made it seem like pokemon could understand human speech.
“Mew” squeaked Mew from above me, breaking me out of my train of thought, as he circled all of us in the clearing. Though I couldn't be certain at all it almost seemed to be like he was admiring his own handiwork as he inspected the eevees. With one final squeak Mew gave me a nod and turned around and started flying back into the forest. “No wait” I cried out putting Brandy back on the ground. Mew stopped and turned around, tilting its head at me. “Mew?” It's chirruped with a confused tone.
“Is that it?” I questioned. “Are you just going to leave now?”
Nodding its head once, Mew turned around to leave once more.
“Wait” I cried out again, “One last thing before you go could you show me the way out of this forest? Or at least point me in the right direction of where I can find someone or some people?”
Mew tilted it’s head and floated in a lazy circle eventually raising its tail and pointed twice in the direction of my right. As I turned to look in that direction it turned around and flew off into the forest before I could react. Staring at the section of forest where mu flew off and yelled out. “Thank you!” Looking back to the team of eevees around me said to myself “well I guess that's that”. Letting out a deep breath I leant back to look at the sky. I was exhausted and I hadn't even done anything. The adrenaline rush from their initial psychic touch that mew gave me followed by the fear of losing my dogs when I thought mew was going to kill them, followed by being transformed was far more fear and general emotion than I was used to in my day-to-day life. Looking around me I came to a quick decision I needed to keep moving otherwise I would crash and not wake up for hours and that’s not something I wanted to do in the middle of some random forest. Turning around I walked back towards my quad bike and hopped on and turned the key. Giving a whistle like I normally do when I’m getting the teams attention, I call out for them to follow me.

“Alright guys lets keep moving” and started driving the bike in the direction that mew pointed us in.
A few minutes later as I was steering amongst the trees, I decided that I was actually quite lucky. That entire scenario could have gone wrong in so many ways. Mew could have not turned up and not transformed the dogs leaving me how I was originally. Mew could have just wiped us from the face of the earth rather than helping. A different more aggressive pokemon could’ve turned up, and I doubt me and 5 dogs could fight a dragon! Instead, I got help when I needed it most and even directions on where to go next. Hell, I lucked out again as a couple years ago I had been given as a gift one of the new smartwatches that had just been released which had a compass feature built in, and yet despite there not being any cell phone reception the compass still seemed to work on it. So using my watch as a compass I was able to keep going in a fairly straight north westerly direction which was were mew pointed towards. I had no idea where I was other than in a forest which I don't think actually counts as knowing where I am so I chose to believe that mew was still helping me out and pointed me in a direction where I would eventually meet someone. I could only hope that that would happen before my bike ran out of fuel and I had to start walking or it got fully dark. As I drove slowly through the trees I looked around at the eevees running and playing around the bike. We weren't going terribly fast due to all the trees so they weren't having to put in much effort in keeping up and as a result were having a great time playing with each other as they ran along, nipping at each other’s tails and racing each other. It struck me as odd all of a sudden that despite the lot of them all looking identical at a glance I could still tell which one was which. As a pack they all blended together but when you actually took the time to look at them individually there were minute differences between them. For example Scotch and Ale were both a little bit taller than the others, which they had been while they were still dogs, and Ale still had a male dog look to him compared to the others. Brandy and Rum seemed to have scruffier denser coats compared to the others, while I could tell the two of them apart simply as the top of June's ears were more white compared to Brandy’s. While poor Gin on the other hand, despite being transformed into an eevee, still seem to have slightly shorter legs and a far fatter body than the other four. It's good to know that somethings just don't change.
Looking ahead I noticed that there seemed to be a natural channel in the trees that would allow me to drive faster for a bit. Grinning to myself I pressed down harder on the throttle and speed the bike up. I wanted to see how fast the team could run in their new bodies. Now I wasn't going to go crazy fast considering I was driving in an unfamiliar environment and I didn’t feel like crashing the bike and going over the handlebars, but as I speed up and all the eevee’s kept up with me I got to admit a grin formed on my face and I started speeding up bit by bit. I looked down at the screen to see how fast I was going I almost didn't notice a sudden voice yelling out.
“Slow down you idiot!”
