Empress' Evolution
87. Mission Provider

87. Mission Provider

Lilith was happy about the generous rewards; however, she still felt somewhat cheated upon seeing the prerequisites to complete it.

[] Establish an actual Empire in Stronghold 3.

[] Have an Army that totals at 5,000 Strong

[] Have 10,000 Daemon Citizen

[] Conquer/Slaughter the Humans if necessary

'Conquer a Stronghold in Five years? I tried that thing when I was still human and failed even after attempting a decade. Also, it would be hard enough to find anyone willing to follow us without initiating combat, but creating an Army of 5,000 strong with different daemons would take a while. Does that place also have drugs? If so, what the Hell was Letza smoking when she thought of this genius idea? Because quite frankly, I would want to take a puff to understand what's going through her head.'

An army of 5,000 strong may not seem much, but she was a daemon and not a human.

Humans were a single race. All of them live by the same rules and pretty much have the same leaders.

However, Lilith was a daemon, and the army she would be creating was not some monolithic race but a diverse collection of them. She already had eight daemon races under her command, yet she was already having difficulty dealing with establishing a working social system.

Though she already established a way to make them all participate without

The total number of her entire Village couldn't even amount to a mere five percent of the needed number of civilians.

This was going to be Hell. Lilith was just about to start complaining about Letza to lighten her mood when Alpha interjected…

[If you're about to speak anything bad regarding the Goddess about this mission, please don't start anything. Like I told you, it's not the Goddess giving you the tasks, but the Higher-ups — the Goddess, only provide the appropriate rewards. If anything, you should be thanking her that you can get anything at all. She's really kind to us, you know]

'Oh? Then, who's the one giving me missions then?' curiosity got the best of Lilith; well, it dissipated her irritation, so she allowed it to devour her mind instead of being angry.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

[Wait, let me ask if I can tell you about this… they said, okay. The one giving your missions would be one of the First three Seraphs created by the Goddess…]

'Wait, I thought this was given by the Goddess?'

[It is, but one of the first three children assists her in crafting a fair challenge to you. The challenges, or rather the missions, are all made by the same honest person. It is someone name Luceer, and she rules over Hell.]

Lilith's ears perked after hearing Alpha, 'Wait, Hell!? You mean that place where the Devils reside and eternal damnation takes place? I thought the one creating the mission was honest? Never have I seen an honest Devil.'

Throughout the millennia, whatever kind of Era it was, the idea of the other world existed. There were two kinds of world, either Paradise or Hell.

These two places were generally labeled as Good and Bad. Paradise being a Good place where kindhearted people go to. It is ruled over by God-or by a Lazy Goddess-whose heart was as vast as the Universe.

There there was Hell, its complete opposite, including the ruler.

Though there was also Reincarnation, that matter was currently irrelevant to Lilith.

Because at the moment, her thoughts were occupied by Hell and its "Fair" ruler.

When Lilith died, or at least when she was supposed to die, she was already prepared to dive straight to Hell. Experience the lovely experience of being tormented for Eons until her soul dissipated and she ceases to exist.

[Are you done overreacting?] Alpha asked.

'...I am.' After some time, she managed to calm down, and as she took a deep breath, she just said, 'That explains a lot.'

Alpha released a deep sigh soon after those thoughts appeared.

'What's the problem?'

[I understand that in all, Culture Hell and its many names is referred to as a sinister place that will torment you forever when you die as an evil person. I understand the fear associated with that realm and the need to have it treated like so. I know that if Hell, where punishment is given to those who do wrong in their Mortal life, stops being scary, it will create even more evil. But I would have you know that Hell is not as bad as you may think you know.]

'I did not think I would ever hear someone refer to Hell as not being bad... well, probably some cultist and Dark Sorcerers. In fact, you actually sound like a radical missionary, and I feel rather scared to listen... but go on.'

[Though in your world, she is called the Devil or something. Luceer is actually really fair in everything she does. She's intelligent, kind, couldn't hurt a fly, and loves to play than to enact evil against others. She is flawless, though her inability to look directly into the Goddess is far more horrible than any of the lowest Seraphs.]

'Then how about Hell? I'm more interested in that. Didn't you say it's not so bad of a place? How so?'

[Wait, I think I am crossing the line here if I explain this to you. I'm going to check for permission... okay, I can tell you the bare minimum. Ahem! Hell is a place where the dammed are sent; their souls would be subjected to Flames meant to purify their souls. These flames were, of course, torture the dammed, but it will also filter the darkness you accumulated throughout your life. The more atrocities you commit, the longer you will suffer the process. It doesn't matter how long it takes; the end result would always be the soul returning to its original form, a pure existence devoid of sins. After that, the purified soul would be sent back to the Wheel of Reincarnation, where they would be able to gain the chance to start a new life.]

'Huh... I did not expect that to be so simple. I'm surprised that Hell has salvation.' Lilith commented.

[Well, the Goddess knew that not everyone is evil at their very cores. When they are in the Mortal World, they would face life's challenges, meet so many people, and not everyone is gifted with good fortune. I once read from the Archives that she said, "Not all life is equal. They are born in a life by chance, and while others can live a good life with good parents, others suffer from poverty and abuse." that's what I read.]

'Are there anything more left to say?'

[Other than the fact that I haven't mentioned that Luceer is considered one of the Greatest Mind in the Universe, there's nothing left I can tell you without breaching the orders of the Higher-Ups. Wait, there's one more... Luceer has several Pets who were once considered as Gods of Knowledge, Wisdom, and the like.]

And as Lilith whispered, "Oh," she accepted it all and went back to listening to Luna.

After finishing the work she needed, she then waited for Dhampy to wake up and then went out with her to scout the area… she already accepted her mission to conquer this stronghold.

That night, Luna left Lilith alone as the Priestess was in deep thought.

'She must be thinking of our next movement.' Luna thought to herself as she exited the room.

'Isn't Hell just Rehab with extra steps?'

[...I hate the fact that you're actually right.]

This was the thoughts of the most revered Priestess.
