Those who witness stood in silent until someone spoke “Holy shitt…you’ve gotta be kidding, he awakened but not only is he an elemental but also a weapon user?”

“Doesn’t that guarantee success?” spoke another.

Kazuki, stood still observing his surroundings. He notice Souh still standing from afar. Ripping his tattered shirt off Souh yelled out to call for Kazuki’s attention. It was so loud the whole school was startled by the powerful voice of Souh. Kazuki however maintained a blank emotionless expression whereas Souh the pure look of anger and frustration on his face “You think we’re done here? Not by a long shot asshole” he growled clenching his teeth and fist. Souh leaped through to attack, but Kazuki propelled himself even faster. But this time Souh revealed his own surprise. Electricity enveloped his body increasing his speed and reflexes. For a split second Kazuki looked surprise before regaining composure as their attacks clashed and scorched the ground. As the fight dragged on Souh slowly got overpowered. Everything he threw was countered punches, kicks, feints, fire, everything He thought to himself in panicked “Impossible, I’m actually losing?!” Kazuki deflected one Souh’s punches with his dagger before finishing him with the blunt edge. As Souh was about to lose he caught a glimpse of Kazuki’s face, but it was not his typical look, instead it was a look of pity. As an insignia appeared in the sky a blast soon followed within that insignia.

POV: Kazuki

My head was ringing from pain. My body felt heavy. I heard someone crying nearby. It was a struggle to just open my eyes. My muscle and bones throbbed in wake. When I finally did manage to open them, I turned to my side. My voice wouldn’t come out. It felt dry. What little sound I could force out was a tiny crack and squeak. She looked startled. Eyes were puffed. The only time I saw eyes this puffed was when my mom cried. Her hair looks disheveled. “You big Idiot!” she screamed “You really should die if you were going to scare me like that ever again.” She seemed upset looking at me, which confused me “Say something please!”I didn’t understand what was going. I know she is scared, angry, and crying but I couldn’t understand why. I couldn’t remember but she looked at me with a very sad and mortifying expression. I felt a gut wrenching feeling in the pit of my stomach when I look at her face.

The sudden news left me emotionally and mentally drained and broken. “The news gets even worse…Your parents are also dead…. on September 9, 2066 at around 2:30PM your parents were murdered. A demon broke through the defense systems in place and murdered everyone in the hospital before moving to the company your dad worked at. It was simultaneous attack with our school the least hard hit with only one demon.” her face turning grimmer with each passing moment “S.S.E.D and military and police on the scene took heavy losses.” I had so many questions, but I could not mutter a single word, tears were falling. I couldn’t accept that reality or more like I stopped processing everything. During the entire time, she kept her head down, avoiding my gaze. Then suddenly something struck me my sister was nowhere in my room.

Suddenly the door burst open. I shifted my gaze from my roof to my door. Blood was rushing in. I begged my body to move but it would not respond. A man standing at the entrance of my door combed black hair wearing a trench coat holding my sister’s neck restraining one of her arms tightly. I recognized my sister was scared and in pain. Yet I could not do anything in this moment. I took a glance at Sakura who looked frightened by me. I begged my body to move begged it with all my soul. Sakura tried to stop me, but she was pushed through the side by unseen forces. My body finally moved but not enough strength was recovered as I fell of the bed. I grit my teeth looking up, the air almost suffocating. Sakura and Hina were begging me to stop. My body staggering. He let go of my sister just to throw her away to the side. Suddenly I felt something gripped me around my neck. He didn’t use his hands, but I felt something suspending me in the air, suffocating me ever so slightly. In a deep yet calming tone he finally spoke “Most people don’t move after facing such pressure and yet you did.” He paused for a second before nodding his head, his mouth frowned slightly as he continued on “Let me commemorate your effort physically.”

The grip I felt suddenly disappeared. I struggled for air, but I never took my eyes off him. Without a doubt he is dangerous. As he turned around and walked, downstairs “Meet me downstairs when you recover. Oh, and a glass of water as well I’m feeling a little thirsty”.

Before walking down, I gave the both of them clear instructions to quietly sneak out the back door dad installed in case anything such as burglary or in this case demon invasion to escape if they manage to break through the front defense system. However, I never thought dad and mom would be dead before we ever have the chance to use it. Walking downstairs the nervousness cling onto us. We parted ways when at the bottom, me making my way to the living room and them out of the house and hopefully notifying the police. I peeked around the corner seeing the man sitting comfortably in my house on the leather caramel color armchair my father bought. Although he did not look menacing there was a looming shadow of death, I constantly felt looking at him. Walking became impossible. On the wooden table is hot tea in front of him. He lowered himself to pick up the small Japanese teacup my mother had bought

He spoke like gentlemen, gentle and soft yet with a clear tone “No need to hide in the corner I can tell you are there, just like how I can tell your friends are prepared to run away. I’ll just say this, but it won’t change the outcome, however I praise that valiant effort.” He knew yet did nothing. I’m scared but what can I do except come out of hiding. He could have killed all of us but yet didn’t he? Sipping on the tea “I must say this tea is quite delicious. Chinese tea leaves are my guess.” I just sat there in silence watching him. He took another sip, but this time flashes me a look with one eye. He looked at me curiously. “Come on now, your making uncomfortable staring at an old man that’s just drinking tea in peace.”

I walked to the sofa taking a seat across from him. “I hope you don’t mind but I would like to drop the formalities. Oh, and if you stay quiet this time, I’ll burn down this house and kill everyone you love starting with those two girls” I panicked but it was to be expected. This person finally going to show his true colors “Good it seems you didn’t go brain dead. Now let’s get on it, you killed a demon several days ago at a high school at this location around noon time?”I hesitated not knowing how to answer since I’m still trying to make sense out of all this. He looked at me indifferently before saying something else “Well then let’s start with your sister”

“I don’t know” I answered quickly in response before he could do anything

He raised an eyebrow “You don’t know?” he stared at me with such an intense gaze I lowered my head “I…I was told but….I just don’t remember any of those event happening” such a simple sentence and yet I fumbled on some words“Boy, raise your head” I did what he said. Our eyes met and I could not look away. His piercing black eyes made me felt as if he was staring into my soul. My life was at the mercy of his eyes. “Are you sure?” I felt the tension rising as he asked me again. He stared for a while before pulling back. Just like in my room, the air died out. He sat back down finishing his tea “Well I find this to be a truly disappointing talk…well almost if it wasn’t for the tea” he said standing up preparing to leave. His way of way speaking changed to before “I bid you a goodnight child” this man was about to leave but curiosity kept on eating at me even till now. Who is he? What is he? How is this man’s presence so frightening? “Who are you?” I asked.

He stopped, pausing momentarily he didn’t turn around but I clearly heard him chickel under his breath as was about to leave “Would you believe me if I said I was Lucifer, the king of hell?” My heart stopped as did the world in my eyes. I called the cops on such a high-ranking demon, the world’s going to end because of me. “Hard to believe right?” He continued to walk as I stared at his back.

POV: Narrator

Kazuki, sat there in a daze lost in thoughts at this moment. Hours had passed but not his body. Sakura and Hina successfully ran away trying desperately to reach the nearest police or S.E.D.D to beg for help. After minutes of running, they had finally arrived at a police station. At the front desk is an officer sipping on his mug of coffee who was shocked to see two girls running in here. Hina fell on the floor immediately lacking any energy to shout for help, but Sakura wasn’t “Please!” she screamed slamming her hands at the officer’s desk. He reacted quickly jumping off his chair grabbed a water offering to her. She slapped it away grabbing his shoulder. Her grip was strong it caused the officer discomfort, he asked, “Miss what’s wrong?”

“Please” trying to catch her breathe “Please…we…Need help”

“What…What is wrong miss” the officer asked before a tired Hina shouted “There’s a Demon at xxx street” The officer reacted lighting fast jumping over his desk slamming the button. Sirens lighted up and officers inside bursting in one after another. The desk officer quickly gave them orders “Warn Commissioner Sakamoto that a demon has appeared a xxx street and warned the S.E.D.D!” shouted a lieutenant.

Somewhere in a neighborhood a cellphone rang waking up a middle-aged man from bed. He grudgingly resisted the call but picked it up either way “Who the hell is calling at this- “

“Sir, Lieutenant Takashi has said a demon has appeared at xxx street, several officers have already been dispatched to the scene and S.E.D.D officers are on their way”. The middle-aged man jumped out of bed. His wife woken by the sudden shake of the bed “Honey_- “

“No time Dear, something urgent came up”. Before the wife had time to process what was going on the husband had quickly worn a worn-down jean and stormed out the bedroom.

Officers surrounded the whole house ready to kill and prepared to stop any escape. The police stormed through. Outside, the officers shouted at his junior “When the hell are the S.S.E.D arriving?”

“They last updated saying 8 more minutes at the latest.”

The senior officer grabbed his hat and threw it on the ground “God damn it! Well, we better hope to god we can last 8 fucking minutes.” Suddenly a car pulled up with the commissioner quickly getting out of the car and asking around all available officer for the status update. The senior officer saluted his superior “Officer” the commissioner responded

“Commissioner Sakamoto, We’re sorry for calling you out so late”

“Leave it, give me the details”

“Approximately 30 minutes ago we were notified that a demon was infiltrated the area. Right now lieutenant Takahashi is canvassing the area for any sign or sight of the demon. As well as S.S.E.D is on their way here.”

“Good. Where are the victims”

“Inside the house in the living room sir” as the senior officer gesture to the door. The commissioner took a deep breath before mumbling to himself “First this afternoon and now this, why the fuck do we have demon alarms installed if we can’t get notified before it happens” before heading straight to the door.
