It seems that the wolves were the dominant species in the area, keeping everything else in check. Now that all of them are dead the other species are all rushing into the area. The good thing about the wolves was the low level ones were very easy to predict because all they could really do was bite and claw you. So now that they're all dead I have to fight all these new monsters.

It was really annoying. Thankfully most of the monsters were Slimes. Which is exactly what it sounds like. They're like big living blobs of hardened slime that lunge at you.
At this point I must have killed a couple dozen Slimes, most level one or two. There are still a few wolves around but nowhere near as many as before. Foods are going great now that the wolves are gone, There is much more wildlife. My cooking still needs improvement though.
The slime leaps at me. Aiming right for my head. I swerve out of the way just in time. Even after putting every point I had gotten so far into agility I could barely avoid the constant attacks. This slime was easily my highest level opponent at level nine. It seems the slime had also put all, or at least most, of its stat points into agility as well. But I have two major advantages. One, once the slime is in the air it can not change its direction or stop itself. Two, I have a knife. With these thoughts in my head I felt confident I could win. But that moment of happiness and confidence was shattered into many pieces a second later. The slime managed to make contact, barreling right into my side while I was distracted, sending me stumbling back. Arms flailing I land on my back. I stagger to my feet but my heart, and hope of winning this fight at all, drops even lower. The slime is already tearing through the air towards me.
Knife in hand I bring it up to parry in a desperate attempt to defend myself. As I raise the knife it feels like everything is in slow motion. The slime keeps getting closer and closer and it looks like the knife isn’t gonna make it. I will my arm to go faster. It looks so close.
My knife goes flying out of my hand and the knife blade embeds itself in a tree. I reel backwards. The slime lands back on the ground, clearly surprised. I draw my bow and nock an arrow. The slime is getting ready for another lunge. It bounces towards me. I draw back the bow string. My arrow sitting comfortably on it. Just as the slime makes another mad dash towards me, I let it fly. My arrow soars towards the slime. The slime knows what is coming but it is too late, it is already in the air.
The arrows takes the slime in its dead center, piercing all the way through. The slime’s body drops to the ground, all its momentum decimated by my arrow.

The slime is dead. My toughest opponent yet defeated in a single hit. The bow really is good.

I wonder what that does? Probably has something to do with a bow and arrow. Considering I got it from using a bow and arrow. I stumble over to my arrow lying on the ground, after sailing right through the slime.
The fight over, adrenaline leaves my body immediately, hitting me with a wave of exhaustion. My legs buckle, now I'm kneeling. Moments later the rest of my body follows suit. I crash into the ground but I don’t feel anything. I have already drifted into unconsciousness.
I don’t have any dreams. The entire time I am staring into what feels like a dark void of nothing. I wake up in what I assume is hours later. The sun is high in the sky, almost hitting its peak. I slowly get to my feet. I had just slept in an open clearing, not hidden in a bush or in a tree, or anything. The middle of a clearing and I was fine. No animal or monster came to me. I was fine. It feels like I am quite lucky. After making sure I have everything, I set off. While I walk, I mull over what to do with my stat points. As it currently was, my agility was good. Only a few monsters that I encountered were faster than me. So if I put all my points into vitality, I would be fine because even if something was faster than me I would be able to take more hits. Decided, I put all my points in vitality, putting it up to seven.
I finally have a chance to test out [Mana shot]. Outside what looks like a massive burrow, so big I could stand in it, sit a group of five rabbits levels ranging from four to nine. Aiming at the largest and the highest level one I mutter “[Mana shot]”
As I hold the bow string fully drawn back, I feel some of my energy leave me. A decently small chunk but a chunk nonetheless. When I look at the arrow now I can see a small glow radiating off of it. Half a second later I fire.
The arrow speeds through the air carrying so much force and power behind it. The arrow reaches the rabbit in an instant, piercing deep into the rabbit. The momentum also sends it flying through the air a few meters.
[You have killed a Rabbit - Lvl.9]
No levels sadly. I feel like I am so close. The other rabbits stare at their dead friend. I draw another arrow before pulling it back to fire and muttering “[Mana bolt]” again. This time nothing happens.
“What?”
Is my skill broken or does it have a cool down ro something? I release the arrow anyway, killing another rabbit.

Yes, one more to ten. The rest of the rabbits have all run inside the burrow by now. It truly was big. I could easily step inside and my head would still not be touching the roof. There could be a lot of rabbits in there. Maybe even enough to level up. I walk over to the entrance. I can see inside, thanks to my [Night vision] I assume, but I can not see what is deeper in. Taking my first step, I wait. Nothing runs out to kill me. Nervous but confident at the same time, I walk into the burrow.
