Chapter 2: Game On
The next day, Daniel and Thomas were taken into a room that was covered in special gear. I just wanted to show you some new tech I and my team have made. It is a watch that looks like a normal watch, but it can give out electric shocks, so you don’t have to look suspicious and make lights turn off randomly when you use your powers. “You gave my daughter the fright of her life when you turned her room light off,” he chuckled.
Daniel and Thomas simultaneously put on the old-looking dial watches. In Daniels' curiosity, he turned the tuning dial on the watch and felt a shock of electricity flow through him. Daniel pulled his arm up and opened his palm. Suddenly, the room became hot and stuffy. Deeply concentrated, Daniel sent a blast of heat, melting the metal walls.
“I haven’t seen you do that before?” Dalton was perplexed.
"Well, I might as well tell you,” Daniel said, rolling his eyes.
Out of the two power modes I have, my mode is what I call my glance because all I have to do is casually look at someone or something and it burns slowly, and the one I just did is my blast. It might be more powerful with intense heat straight away, but it attracts too much attention.
"Well, I will be off then,” Dalton said, and left the building.
“Ha, at least I am not dumb enough to tell him my powers,” Thomas said, smirking.
“Well you don’t trust anyone but yourself, Thomas, so I don’t give a damn.” Daniel, in his frustration, simply melted the door Dalton had walked through and went outside.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Later that afternoon, Daniel was walking down the street when he investigated a pub with some commotion inside. Daniel opened the door to the dimly lit pub and, squinting, saw Dalton quivering as a guy in a worn leather jacket aimed a pistol at his head.
Give me all your money or else I will shoot!” The man bellowed
"OK," Dalton said, shaking his hand and reaching into his pocket, when Daniel spoke up.
“How about I make you a real cowboy? I will give you ten seconds to let go of him or you will be fried to a crisp,” Daniel said calmly.
How about that squirt trying to threaten me? How about I just shoot you?”
"Ok, try me,” Daniel said, a cocky grin on his face.
“The man lifted his gun from Dalton and aimed it at Daniel, firing shots at him, but all that happened was the dull thumping of the cold, lifeless bullets falling straight to the ground."
Just like the energy was sucked out of the gun, which it was. The man kept on firing his gun mindlessly, to no avail.
“3,2,1 times up,” Daniel said, feeling the energy of the bullets coursing through his veins, staring at the man as the man loosened his hold on Dalton and fell to the ground, convulsing as he became a boiling bloody mess.
“Walking to Dalton, he tapped him on the back, waking him out of his trance."
“Answering your silent question, I don’t care who I kill. If I help innocent people, good for them. If I kill innocent people, well, I don’t care! By the way, it seems you're not as tough as you seemed to be". He smirked, and with that, Daniel waltzed out of the pub with stunned bystanders and a stunned Dalton following behind.
“Hey, Daniel, I was waiting to see when you would come back! I was thinking we could have a cool catchphrase like, "By day we suck your electricity and by night we do the same!" because we’re electric vampires! " Thomas exclaimed!
Well, you sound like a moron, Thomas." I’m going to sleep. "
