Solar gives a small nod, but as Ymir gets comfortable, Solar’s eyes stay open. Something about this whole situation doesn’t add up. But for now, he can only wait and observe.
“Goodnight, Solar. Sweet dreams,” Ymir says, turning over.
“Goodnight..?” Solar replies confused what it means, his mind too restless to sleep, unsure of what tomorrow might bring.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Morning at the SJA Headquarters;
“WHERE IS SOLAR?”
“REMY, I TOLD YOU, I DON’T KNOW!”
“I LEFT HIM WITH YOU!”
“NO, YOU DID NOT. HE CAME TO ME!”
“THAT’S THE SAME THING!”
Remy let out an annoyed sigh, pressing his hand to his forehead. “Okay, Kiyo,I left him with you, told him to go to you if he needed anything.”
“Yeah, i know that! He stayed with me during the interrogation, but I told him to go sleep and-”
“-And you left him here?!” Remy’s voice got louder, “What if he didn’t know where his room was? What if he got lost—what if he got kidnapped?!.. what if-"
Kiyo interrupted, bothered. “Remy, how the hell would he get kidnaped?, Also its mainly your fault for leaving him alone, you should've took him to his room."
“ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN! He doesn’t think like we do.. we don't know what kind of logic he has in his brain yet!—what if he’s halfway across Seraph City?! I think we should put up missing person posters!”
“Calm down! He’s probably just gone for a walk,” Kiyo said, trying to keep it cool.
Remy snapped, “He’s been gone since 10 PM. It’s now 8 AM!”
Kiyo sighed and grabbed his coat. “lets just go and find him.. He can’t have gone far.”
“I hope not,” Remy muttered, following him outside.
Standing outside the SJA entrance, Kiyo pointed at the streets. “Let’s split up. I’ll head right, you go left.”
Remy nodded. “Got it. Call me if you find anything.”
After searching the park and nearby apartments, Kiyo hesitated outside a door labeled APT. 24. He knocked, and a gruff voice answered.
“Who’s there?”
“Uh, water,” Kiyo replied, awkwardly.
“Water who?”
“Water are you doing today?”
A moment of silence passed before the door opened to reveal a tall, muscular man glaring down at him.
“Kiyo, the hell do you want?”
“Have you seen a guy with long blue hair, halo, white shirt, and messy pants?” Kiyo asked, quickly jotting notes in his book.
The man rubbed his chin. “Yeah, I saw him last night. He was sitting on a bench, talking to some old man. Looked like they were just chatting.”
“what were they doing..?”
“ chilling, i think.. What’d you think he was gonna do? Mug the guy?”
Kiyo smiled with relief. “Right… Thanks for the help.”
As Kiyo walked away, he got a phone call from remy; picking it up, “KIYO!” Remy shouted on the other end. “HAVE YOU FOUND SOLAR?”
“No, but I got a lead. Why are you yelling?”
“I THINK THE BOSS FOUND OUT” Remy wailed. “IM GOING TO GET FIRED, SERAPH'S SAFETY IS IN MY HANDS..”
Kiyo rolled his eyes. “Remy. what could solar possibly do that could destroy seraph city in an instant.. I imagine him as a little tiny tit bird, harmless and cute. even if he went missing, there is no way he can do something bad.”
“What about the gang cases you’ve been working on?! What if they find him and—AND TEACH HIM BAD THINGS?!”
Kiyo groaned, rubbing the side of his head. "uh.. well i forgot about those ill hang up now, going to continue... remy? are you crying?”
“NO, IM NOT..” remy yelled while he sounded like was sobbing a moment earlier, making Kiyo sigh before hanging up.
At a nearby street corner, Kiyo froze when he noticed Solar walking with a group of four.
“Kiyo?” Solar looked startled. “What are you doing here?”
“No, what are YOU doing here?!” Kiyo walked up to solar, glaring. “You can’t just leave without telling anyone!”
Solar tilted his head. “But Remy said I could go out if I wanted. And you guys left me alone, so I went for a walk.”
“That’s not the point!” Kiyo snapped. “Remy’s been worried sick!”
One of Solar’s companions, a familiar guy, Liz; stepped forward. “im sure this is a big misunderstanding, how about we go inside and talk instead of in public no..?”
“No need,” Kiyo muttered. “I’m just taking Solar back to the SJA, that's all, we'll talk it out later.”
" to the SJA..? What did solar do? "
Kiyo narrowed his eyes at Liz, hesitating. “ Its.. nothing"

"Wait, liz can come its fine. ”
With a sigh, Kiyo sighed looking carefully at liz; “Okay..”
solar and liz waved goodbye to the friends they were hanging out with and followed Kiyo back to the SJA.
At the SJA reception area.
“We’re finally here,” Kiyo said, leaning against the wall. “Now we just need to wait for Remy to come back. I hope nothing’s happened to him…”
Nearby, Liz and Solar stood together, whispering in amused tones.
“Hey, Solar,” Liz whispered, leaning closer. “Is Officer Kiyo’s tip tail always this fluffy? I kinda want to touch it…”
Solar stifled a laugh, his eyes lit up with amusement. “I think so… it looks pretty cool.."
while Liz’s eyes sparkled with curiosity. “Ooh! What about Sir Endrias’s tail? I saw him leaving for a mission the other day—it looked so big, soft and fluffy!”
Solar giggled, trying to hold back his laughter. “Heh, yeah… I wouldn’t mind touching it, just a little…”
Their quiet giggles filled the space until they were suddenly interrupted by a loud bang from the entrance doors.
Remy burst in, panting heavily, his face flushed with exhaustion and worry. The moment he saw Solar, relief =took over him as he ran forward, pulling Solar into a tight hug.
“Solar! I finally found you-”
“Actually, I found him,” Kiyo interrupted with an annoyed look.
Remy ignored kiyo and continued; “I could’ve lost my job over this, you know.."
Kiyo raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “Do you care more about Solar or about losing your job right now?”
Remy ignored him again, continuing as his tone was getting softer. “Next time, please let someone know where you’re going—or at least leave a note. You could’ve gotten me killed!”
“Killed from stress, or for real?” Kiyo said, dumbfounded.
“Shut up, Kiyo,” Remy snapped. “I’m being serious.”
Solar fidgeted. “I… I’m sorry, Remy. I’ll be more careful from now on. I promise I’ll let you know next time.”
Remy finally sighed, the tension leaving his shoulders. “Good.”
As he relaxed, his gaze fell on Liz, who stood silently beside Solar. Remy blinked in surprise. “And… who’s this?”
Kiyo interjected before Solar could answer, disinterested. “Someone who might help with Solar’s situation. How exactly? Not my problem. Now that Solar’s safe, I’m heading back to work.”
Without waiting for a response, Kiyo gave a nod and turned to leave.
Remy smiled slightly in gratitude. “Thanks, Kiyo. I owe you one.”
Kiyo waved a hand dismissively over his shoulder as he disappeared down the hallway.
Turning back to Liz, Remy extended a hand, smiling warmly. “Well, now that’s settled… nice to meet you. I’m Remy.”
Liz shook his hand firmly, his own smile bright and friendly. “And I’m Liz. Good to meet you too!”
As they exchanged pleasantries, Liz glanced at Solar and then back at Remy. “I hear you’ve been the one looking out for Solar?”
Remy laughed lightly, scratching the back of his neck. “Yep, that’s me. And honestly? I’m glad you found him when you did. He’s like a little brother to me.”
Solar blinked in surprise, his voice tinged with disbelief. “A little brother…?”
Remy hesitated, looking flustered. “I-I mean, I know we’ve only known each other for a few days, but I already feel like we’re close…”
Solar’s face softened at the words, and Liz gave an approving awkward smile.
Liz smiled, clearly Happy by Remy’s words. “that's pretty sweet, Remy. Solar’s lucky to have you.”
Remy glanced away shyly, his gaze between Liz and Solar. “Thanks… Well, it’s just part of my job—and maybe my personality. Don’t think too much of it.”
An awkward silence settled over the group as they exchanged glances, unsure of what to do next. Solar finally broke the quiet. “Soo… what do we do now? I mean—when are we going out investigating again?”
Remy shrugged, his tone unsure. “No idea. We still haven’t heard from Mim yet. And now that we’ve found someone who seems to know a bit about where you came from, there might not be much need to investigate further.” He paused, then tilted his head toward Solar. “Actually, how did you find Liz?”
Solar chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. “Uh… it’s kind of a long story. I met his uncle first, then his sister—”
“My step-sister,” Liz interjected with a smile.
“Oh yeah, his step-sister. Wait… what does step-sister mean?” Solar squinted at Liz, trying to process the term.
Liz sighed, his voice patient. “We’re not related by blood.”
Solar paused, his brows furrowing as he squinted harder at Liz, clearly still trying to wrap his head around it.
“Yeah… anyways—then I met him, and he recognized my halo—which, by the way, I still can’t see. And then we talked it out—”
Liz cut in again, nodding. “And our talk was pretty long. Since I’m also looking for answers about where he came from, I want to help too.”
Remy raised an eyebrow, surprised by the Solar, but decided not to comment on it. Instead, he replied, “Well, at least we’ve got a big clue now, and it feels like this is all coming to an end…”
Solar and Liz exchanged awkward chuckles. Liz then spoke up, a little sheepishly. “Well… the thing is, Solar doesn’t remember anything about where he’s from. And I’ve been away from that place for a while now…”
“What place?”
The group turned to see Mim walking toward them. His messy hair messier than usual was tied back in a loose ponytail, and he was holding a coffee cup with the words, “Life’s a mess, but at least I have coffee.”
His tired eyes flicked between them, and he raised an eyebrow. “Did I miss something important, Whos that?"
