After the patterns, I saw another notification.
> You have gained the Skill Interface Modification 1 > 2
I did not know about this one. I then heard a sigh from Lily as she muttered, "... thought that the impulsiveness that they spoke of about the younger Dungeons I wouldn't have to deal with, but would you look at that? At least he didn't take something like the Ruin or Volcano theme at least..."
"Do you know about this skill?" I asked her. She perked up a little from that and then she drooped a little, "No, I don't know about that, but from the name, I guess it will let you customize your System interface. Didn't know there were these kinds of Skills to begin with. And please talk to me when you are going to pick something, ok?" I felt a bit bad about that so I said, "When I picked the Ecosphere Crafting perk I had gotten a vision of some kind. In it was a memory of a plant woman calling me son and telling me about the significance of every creature in an ecosystem while we walked through a forest. I thought by picking the Forest theme I might get more memories back."
She then came near me and said, "It is ok! Just tell me your reasons for picking things so I can help you better in the future. Now that you have told me that you might have visions of your past, I could point out to you what might trigger it again. And from what you told me, the woman might be a dryad as they are the only mortal plant-like sapient that can have a humanoid child." I get a bit happier at remembering that she was a dryad, a verdant bloom to be exact. It felt like a part of my memory just opened up, but I still couldn't remember what she looked like. I try to get those thoughts out of my mind and open up the theme modifiers selection.
> Please select two of the modifiers-
>
> 1. Element: Plant: This modifier enhances the presence of plant life within the theme. It adds an abundance of various flora, from towering trees to creeping vines, and even magical or exotic plant species that thrive in the environment.
>
> 2. Ancient: This modifier gives the environment a sense of age and history. Structures appear weathered and ancient, with moss and vines covering stone ruins. The atmosphere is filled with the echoes of long-forgotten civilizations.
>
> 3. Mystical: This modifier infuses the environment with an ethereal, otherworldly quality. Floating lights, mysterious glyphs, and subtle magical auras enhance the sense of mystery and enchantment.
>
> 4. Frozen: This modifier adds an icy, cold element to the environment. Snow and ice cover surfaces, temperatures drop, and the flora and fauna are adapted to survive in frigid conditions, creating a winter wonderland or arctic wasteland.
>
> 5. Volcanic: This modifier introduces elements of fire and lava to the environment. Molten rock flows through cracks, heat radiates from the ground, and the area is dotted with volcanic features like geysers and fumaroles.
>
> 6. Gloom: This modifier envelops the environment in darkness and shadow. Dim lighting, eerie sounds, and shadowy creatures create a foreboding and ominous atmosphere, perfect for a spooky or sinister theme.
I asked Lily's thoughts on the modifiers and said that I didn't want the frozen or volcanic modifiers. "Ok! So first we need to get an idea of what kind of Forest we want. So do you have any in mind?"
I started to think about how I wanted the forest to be. I liked the forest around my house a lot, I think at least. But also a part of me wanted to deviate from the norm, another part wanted to inspire awe and amazement in all who came to my Dungeon. I dictated these thoughts of mine to her and she nodded thoughtfully before going silent for a bit.
"I got an idea! We can make everything related to plants! The element: plant modifier will surely give you a plant monster of some kind and we can fuse it with the others to make plant-like creatures from everything! And for the awe-inspiring, we can go either ancient or mystical. Whichever you like!" She said excitedly. I also liked her idea about the plant creatures, it sated a part of me. I also remembered the spell crystals and how it stated that it would passively affect the area around it with magic. I knew I wanted to use those but I didn't have good spells for it. So I also chose the Mystical modifier after confirming with Lily that the modifier would help me in that regard. After finalizing the choice I was pleased to see that this time the patterns came in a compound format.

> Elemental: Plant Patterns—
>
> 1. Spriggan (Minor): Summons a seedling stage Spriggan, a small, plant-like creature that protects and nurtures the flora within the environment. As it grows, it gains more strength and abilities.
>
> 2. Bush: Summons a variety of bushes, each with unique properties:
>
> - Berry Bush: Produces edible berries that provide nourishment and minor restorative effects.
>
> 3. Vine: Summons various types of vines, adaptable to the needs of the environment:
>
> - Climbing Vine: Grows rapidly and can cover surfaces, providing vertical growth and natural camouflage.
>
> Mystical Patterns—
>
> 1. Fyrefly: Summons a semi-elemental insect that emits a soft, magical light. They can also absorb and release small amounts of elemental energy.
>
> 2. Minor Illusion (Enchantment): A minor enchantment that can create small visual and auditory illusions.
>
> 3. Everfill (Enchantment): An enchantment that, when placed on containers or reservoirs, ensures they are always filled with their designated contents based on available patterns. This enchantment functions only within the dungeon, maintaining a constant supply as long as the mana is available.
"Wow you got the everfill early, it will save you some time. Fyreflies normally take on the elemental affinity of the Dungeon that spawns them but you don't have any so it will be exciting to see how they come out." Lily said after seeing what patterns I got.
"I don't know what spriggans are, can you tell me about them?" I asked. "The spriggans are a plant creature that had a life cycle close to that of a tree. First a seed, then the seed sprouts limbs and a head with a couple of leaves. Then they keep growing till they mature and come to a flowering stage when they root themselves. After that, the rooted spriggans fruit and the younger spriggans then take the fruits and plant them so new spriggans can grow out of them. Spriggans also help the growth of plants and defend them against animals." She told.
"Now that you have gotten all of the available selections complete call to the system and say, 'Protocol Floor Start Rift'" she said. I followed her advice. Then a system message opened in front of me.
> Protocol FSR Initiated...
>
> Querying for false start..... Query returned false.
>
> Giving access to sub-Ability Floor Planner temporarily.....
In front of me, a big screen opened up. In it was a big black circle. And to the side were my theme and theme modifiers. I turned to Lily to ask her what this was. "This is a protocol in the system that helps rift Dungeons build their first floor by creating their first-floor floorplan with its available patterns and outsourcing the mana, as they don't have much in the way of mana regen until they open up. Now give me full access to the panel it opened up." I gave her access by just willing it, it was pretty easy. "Now we will select the theme and the modifiers." I saw as she dragged them to a blank spot in the top right corner and after merging the themes it finally became (Verdant Forest). I tried to get a description of it but that didn't work. After that the screen changed to a different format, there were icons on the left side of the screen, bars on the right and a whole lot more. I was getting overwhelmed. Lily then said to minimize the screen and look at what patterns I got from the new theme.
> Verdant Forest—
>
> 1. Deer: Summons a deer.
>
> 2. Thorn Bush (Sub-pattern of Bush): This pattern summons a bush with dense clusters of sharp thorns, providing natural defense and protection against intruders.
>
> 3. Animate Plant (Mutation/Spell): Imbues a plant with the ability to move and react to its environment. The animated plant can uproot itself and maneuver across the ground, adjusting its position to obtain sunlight or capture prey. This can be used as a spell which will cause the effect to be temporary and when added as a mutation it will remain permanently.
"Lily, what are mutations?" She thought for a bit and said, "Think of it as a modifier for a creature that will be passed on through generations. You can only apply it while you are summoning creatures."
