"Success!" Lily muttered excitedly. I looked as the pebble slowly floated. "Ok! Now make a dirt ball with this at its core and then recalibrate the stone to its new weight."
I created a bunch of dirt and packed it into a spherical shape around the weightless pebble. As I encased it, it again fell back to the ground. After putting some more mana, it became weightless again.
I turned towards Lily and asked, "How big does your house need to be?"
"A small meditation room, a big alchemy lab, a garden, for now at least. My friends might come, so we would also need rooms for them, but we will figure that out later." She said. "Right! You have that illusion enchantment! Make one on a blank spell crystal, I will connect to it and show you!"
Hearing her idea, I made a small blank crystal and added a minor illusion enchantment to it. But the crystal started to absorb the enchantment and took on a pale pinkish hue. I waited for it to do something but it didn't do anything. Lily then floated down to it and extended a small tendril of mana into the crystal. Then suddenly a 3d model of a one-story house made of stone bricks and wood, with a garden up front. Then the walls turned transparent and showed the floor plan. The doorway led to an entry hall that went to a living room. That was then connected to a cube room and a big alchemy lab on the other side.
"Shouldn't there be some kind of storage room?" I asked. "I had forgotten about that! We can make a couple of storage spaces in the basement." Lily then changed the Illusion to show two rooms below the house.
"Ok, but I don't have any wood to build with. And how am I going to build on top of a floating island? The stone needs to be recalibrated with every weight I put on it. Not to say, I looked and that small piece is taking 0.1 mana per hour to maintain." I told her feeling a bit disappointed not being able to build something amazing. Huh, that part was new I think, I don't remember liking building things much.
Also, feeling disappointed, she dropped a little but sprung back up. "Ok, I guess floating island is not feasible right now. Let's build an underground facility! Like some mad alchemist hiding from the populous! For now make just the alchemy lab, the two storage spaces and a big empty room as an experimental chamber."
I liked the sound of an underground facility but the mad alchemist part was confusing. Was she fleeing from someone? I decided to not ask her as her mood had just gotten better. Instead, I just asked her where I should make it. She told me to make it on the opposite end of the Dungeon from the entry rift.
When I went into the ground I found another problem, the water channels I had made. I sighed and started to destroy the channels but something told me that would be a bad idea. I was startled by that almost foreign thought and started looking for its source. Almost immediately the same thought told me that it was the {Ecosphere Crafting} perk. I relaxed a little, I had thought my soul had some problem.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
Hmm..... I could turn this into a shallow lake and build the facility below it! Even the perk approved it! I started by notifying the hivemind to move the plants away from the area. Immediately I saw patches of grass and plants move away from the area. But still, some plants remained grounded, those must be non-animated. Suddenly, I had an idea about a swamp and the perk agreed to it. I started to absorb the water to empty the channels for deconstruction but it kept getting filled!
I created a plug using dirt and started to fill in the channels but collapsed them instead as the perk told me that a swamp had to be lower than the surrounding regions. Now I had a region with shallow ponds and canals everywhere. Just have to add the water. I went up above the trees and started to summon water. That's when my other perk told me to go higher into the sky and make more clouds. Those can handle the water distribution. I went with the plan and summoned a huge wave of steam. Suddenly I felt weak and light-headed, I checked my status to see if my integrity had worsened but saw that my mana was at just 10. I guess I felt lightheaded because of mana deprivation. Now I had to wait for my mana to regen.
The hivemind apologised as it could not give him any mana as it was making food energy for the forest. I reassured it that it was ok. I then went to my core to see what Lily was up to while I waited for my mana to refill.
I saw that she had taken some things out of the box away from my core and was smashing something in a white stone bowl with a stone stick. Beside her was a big pot with a thing beneath it making a flame. "What are you doing?"
She jumped up and took out a pink ball from her storage. Seeing no one around her she calmed down and said, "Don't startle me like that! I have some bad memories from the Combat classes. I was making some low-healing salves. The grasses that withered from mana burn are very saturated in non-aspected mana so it's a good alchemy ingredient. I wanted to make some other things but I didn't have enough ingredients for a big batch. That also reminds me that I have a bunch of things for you to absorb." I get excited at the mentions of new things but she poured ice on my excitement with what she said next.
"Though first, you should build the storage for me to go through my stocks and then read up my herbology, alchemy and other books to get the patterns easier. Oh, and how much room has been cleared? This box will only last about 4 more days." Right, I was building that facility. I had forgotten about it and started making a swamp.
"I couldn't build much as there were the water channels below the ground. I wanted to just remove them, but my perk said that would be bad; I had to have a water source nearby. So I thought about making a lake, and the perk said ok. As I was planning on moving the plants out of the way, I had the idea of turning it into a swamp instead, so I collapsed all the water channels. Then I started to summon a bunch of water, but the other perk said that it could handle the water distribution if it had clouds. So I went into the sky and created a bunch of steam. Now my mana is low, so I came to see what you were doing while I wait." I explained to her.
