'Now do I experiment on it or keep it? It is my first creature, after all; it's also cute, so… keeping it.' But before I opened the door for it I ordered it to go back to the center and go in a circle. It complied very easily, so that's good. Opening a small hole, I told it to go through. It squished itself against the wall and slowly squeezed its slime through, but when its core touched the wall, it quickly moved the core back and retracted its slime. When I widened the hole to easily allow the core through and told it to go through again, it easily went through to the other side and waited for my order. I just told it to go to the end of the hallway and do whatever it wants. Then I filled in the gap and summoned another slime.
This time, I told it to stay still and got closer to inspect it. The core in the middle was an octahedron about 5 cm tall and 3 cm wide. The slime volume was about 5 litres. I told it to separate a small portion of slime and a part of the slime went splat. I summoned a short stick made of the berry bush wood and poked the splattered slime. As I wiggled the stick in the slime... –Let's call the separated liquid of slime 'goo', or it would get confusing– goo, no reactions happened. I then poked the slime with the stick and the stick went inside the slime. It moved its core away but kept still; after a few seconds, the thin fuzz created from rubbing the stick against granite was slowly dissolving. “So the goo loses its dissolving property after it is separated from the core.“ After absorbing the goo I got the clear goo pattern.
I told the slime to separate 30% of its goo and then eat the separated goo. As it did that, I noticed that it only regained about 50% of its mass back, which meant that it would lose half of the mass of the part it lost. I then waited a couple of minutes to see how fast it would recover and didn't see a change after 5 minutes. So I summoned a litre of the nutrient paste, as it had lost over a litre of its goo, and told it to eat.
After it finished eating I saw that it had regained a bit less than the full litre, which meant that there was a conversion cost. I also summoned a berry and a leaf for it to eat and told it to go to the corner and eat there. As Slime 1 went to the corner to eat I summoned another one. This one I told to bring its core to the outer edge of its goo, then I used the stick to flick the core out. As it popped out, the goo went limp, and the core scattered across the floor. When I went to check on the core, I saw hairline fractures all across it; before it could break, I absorbed it and gained a pattern called 'Slime core (Unattuned)'. I summoned one and saw the slime core pop back, but this time, it was not fractured.
That gave me an idea! I summoned another slime and activated Fusion. I chose the new slime's core as the primary and the core I made secondary. The core fractured into lights and dived into the slime. This also made me notice that the place was pitch black with no lighting but that thought is for later. As the slime's core had started to glow and vibrate. Then suddenly it went boom! The goo was sent everywhere. I looked over to Slime 1 to see if he was harmed or anything but saw that 1 was just chilling and leaf and berry hadn't changed in the slightest.
“So that experiment went bad. I think I overloaded the slime core with too much Mana.“ I checked and saw that that fusion had cost me 10 mana, which was lower than I had thought it would cost. I summoned another slime and summoned a big piece of quarts as that was the closest thing to the core except for the crystallised spells. Then I fused the quarts to the slime core. The quarts burst into lights yet again and went into the core. Then, the core slowly becomes slightly clearer and takes a light yellow hue. The shine settled down, and I saw thin crystalline structures slowly grow out of the core. The core then started to move around erratically, and as it moved around, the thin crystals broke off and started to float in the goo. The fragment that had broken off stopped growing but the place it broke off from started to regenerate. After a minute the clear goo had turned into a wirling slurry of sharp yellowish fragments and goo. To see if anything had changed in its status, I identified it and was surprised.

> Semi-Amorphous: Part fluid, part solid, your form is both adaptable and stable. You can shift and stretch to a limited degree, allowing you to alter your shape and slip through narrow spaces while retaining a solid core for structure. This semi-amorphous nature provides flexibility without sacrificing durability, though rapid or extreme transformations can strain your stability, temporarily weakening your cohesion.
> Crystalline Form: Your body is forged from living crystals, embodying both resilience and beauty. You can manipulate and grow crystal structures around you, shaping defensive barriers or sharp edges if provided with the right mineral base. This crystalline nature grants you durability but also makes you vulnerable to shattering forces or intense vibrations that could destabilize your form.
It gained the crystal affinity! That also turned its Unattuned trait into Crystalline Form. And its Amorphous trait became Semi-Amorphous because of the crystals. Can it still eat vegetation? To figure that out I summoned a leaf and put it on top of it. This time the leaf was not sucked into the slime but stayed on the outer membrane, though it got cut up by the sharp crystals going around. I summoned a piece of quarts a bit away from it, but just as it spawned the slime rushed to it and engulfed it. Then, the quarts were slowly ground down by the crystals of the slime. As the quarts turn into powder, the powder was sucked into the core. Then the core started to create more crystals. I summoned some more quartz blocks and told it to eat those in one of the other corners.
Remembering Slime 1, I looked over and saw that the leaf was mostly intact, and the berry's skin and seeds were ok, but the slime had eaten the flesh. Sigh! This was not great. After a bit of thought, I summoned 5 litres of nutrient paste for 5 mana. Then fused that with the whole slime, both core and goo. A part of the nutrient paste turned into light and dived into the core, which started to turn a greyish-green colour. Then the rest of the paste rushed into the goo and mixed into a dark brown mixture. I checked and saw that the fusion took a whole 25 mana. I pulled up its status to see the changes.

> Amorphous: Lacking a fixed form, you can flow and reshape at will, slipping into any shape or size within your mass. This fluid nature lets you bypass barriers and adapt to tight spaces, though maintaining complex shapes or precise movements requires focus and drains energy over time.
> Composter: Your body is a living crucible of decay, breaking down organic matter into a nutrient-rich paste. Able to absorb and process waste, rot, and other biomass, you transform it into a dense, nutrient-filled goo that sustains you or others, though its taste leaves much to be desired. This composting ability allows you to dissolve nearly any organic material, but the process emits earthy odours and can attract scavengers or pests if not managed carefully.
'Ok… that's something I guess.' I summoned a pile of leaves and told it to eat that. I jumped on top of the pile and slowly spread itself over it. In a matter of minutes, I could see the pile slowly getting smaller.
Suddenly I felt a slight nudge in my mind. When I concentrated on it I got a feeling of something big coming out of the rift. Immediately I rushed towards the rift to see what came through. When I neared it, I saw a 4-foot tall humanoid sniffing the air with its big, bulbous nose and its beady yellow eyes looking around. It had a thin, gangly body with long arms, a big pot belly and a disproportionately large head. It was wearing shreds of fur and clothes on its body and holding a big wooden pole with some rusted metal on one end and the other end broken. After giving a last huff, it started to cautiously stumble around. I quickly identified it to see what it was.
> Uug—Goblin—5
It came to the edge of the clearing while taking deep sniffs. It suddenly turned towards one direction and sprinted forward. But before it could get far into the forest, its foot got caught on a thorny bush, and its face planted into it. After a minute of thrashing about and yelling, it finally got out of it while still holding onto its stick. I had hoped it would have lost its stick in the bush, but oh well. From its dive into the thorns it now sported a range of bruises and cuts, nothing major but quite numerous. Using the stick as a cane, the goblin stumbled on towards its destination, which I quickly found out was a berry bush as the goblin enthusiastically reached a hand into the bush and ripped out a few berries before eating them.
