POV: Godfrey
Minutes has past since we had lost track of the dragon. It’s not much of a surprise considering we’re racing a dragon on foot, but it’s still excruciatingly painful knowing that the dragon is making good progress towards the prince with us not being able to do a single thing to stop it. Sweat protrudes and pools out of every pore of my body as the metal plating of our armour insulates the heat my body is producing.
It’s not that the unit is moving slow in any stretch of the imagination, it’s just that comparatively, the speed at which the unit is capable of moving as a whole is so much slower than a dragons.
If I moved at full speed, I could probably catch up but would leaving the unit behind in such a state be acceptable...
“Godfrey stop moving! Everyone get into a defensive position!”
Hearing the command, all 300 soldiers come to a halt, and assume a defensive pose. A large amount of mana starts to collect in front of us, and as it pooled, the surround area started to become distorted, as the greens of the forest and the blues of the skies started to mix.
As that distortion grew and grew, eventually becoming something unrecognisable from the beginning sight, it jarringly stopped. Everything went back to it’s previous state, only this time with three humanoids where the mana had pooled. A demon, an undead and a dragonian now joined us.
“No way…”
“Hey Alex, isn’t that your teleportation spell?”
“How is this even possible? It looks extremely like it, but it’s fundamentally different. My spell creates a bubble around us with mana that creates an artificial instance in time and space, letting us able to travel long distances effectively in an instant but this spell single handedly breaks everything we know about our universe.”

A sound of someone clearing their throats ended our conversation.
“Can you gentlemen care to tell me why you have intruded upon our father’s home?” The demon stepped forward and started to talk.
It was like all the air around me had been sucked away. A heavy pressure pushed down onto my body forcing my body onto it’s knees. Gasping and sucking for oxygen, my mind flew into a panic. Killing intent so intense that it had such an effect on the strongest warrior of the empire, was emitted by the demon in the middle. All of the unit was immediately knocked unconscious, leaving only me to deal with the situation. A deep terror implanted deep into my soul.
“Ahh. I am deeply sorry, I didn’t think you individuals were so weak.”
All that pressure disappeared.
So he knocked out the country’s strongest knights just because of a little misjudge in strength...
“This is taking too long… Look into my eyes.”
Taking off his gaudy sunglasses, he forces me to look deep into his eyes. It’s like I’m looking into a blackhole. It looks straight into my soul, sucking up everything. All the strength leaves my body and I almost flop onto the ground, the demon having to catch me mid-fall.
“I’ll ask again, why did you come here?”
POV: ???
After getting all I needed from the bearded fellow I remove the impression I put upon him and start to make preparations to move towards dad, Rose and the dragon.
“What just happened… Argh!”
The bearded fellow scrambled to his feet and ran into the bushes full speed in fear. A tickling forms at the back of my throat and the feeling grows until I can’t hold it in any longer.
“HAHAHAHAHA! Did you guys see that! A fully grown muscular man just ran away in fear! That seems very fun, let’s follow him.”
With a sadistic grin on my face, I rush towards the individual, brothers reluctantly in tow. A giggle escapes my mouth as my mind replays the previous scene repeatedly in my head. Surprisingly, he had instinctively started to move towards the position of dad and Rose, and was moving at a fast pace. Increasing my speed to catch up to him, I’m right next to him in less than 5 seconds.
“Running away at the sight of our faces. Didn’t your mother teach you any manners?”
Sweat is visibly pouring down in buckets on the poor man and as he heard my voice, he jumps and increases his speed. His facial muscles contort into that of pure terror which only makes me want to continue tormenting him. Wanting to see more of his reactions, I continued to trail him whilst emitting a small amount of killing intent causing the knight continued to accelerate.
With the increased speed of the knight, we shortly arrive at dad’s position, only the knight faints on the spot, his mind shutting down to prevent further scarring from occurring.
