POV: MC
A roar reached my ear drums as the towering dragon lifted its magnificent body getting itself into a fighting posture. Despite the terrifying situation in front of me, I felt no fear. The dragon was still focused on the knights, and had yet to realize that we were here, leaving us open to analyse the situation.
As Rose had said, there were around 300 fully armoured adventurers on the third floor. What she had failed to inform me about however, was the large dragon that also came in with them.
We have to keep hidden at least for now. We don’t want to be in the middle of the crossfire when the bullets start whizzing
“Rose how did you miss the drag-”
“How cute! Can we keep it as a pet? Can we? Can we?” Rose looked up at me with puppy dog eyes while pointing towards the dragon.
Rubbing my eyes, I direct my eyes towards the dragon again.
In what way does that look cute…
“I promise I’ll take care of it! I’ll walk it and feed it everyday!”
The bizarre image of a child 130cm tall walking a dragon entered my mind.
“That’s not a dog Rose… We can’t just keep it as a pet...”
Rose looked at me with puppy dog eyes once again, this time with them filling with tears. Hiccups emerged as her face grew redder and redder. The sight of a child flailing their arms and legs in the air appeared in my mind. Taking into consideration Rose's power level, I can only imagine what sort of damage Rose could do whilst in a tantrum. I quickly take measures to try to mend the damage.
“How about this honey, we can keep them as a pet if the dragon agrees.”
It was an absurd idea that I just spurted out without thinking.
Ooft
A dull pain spread out from my abdomen as Rose catapulted into it, giving me a bear hug. Her arms don’t quite make it all the way around my body, but I can feel my abdomen being crushed as she holds me in a hug. All the oxygen is push out and I’m left wheezing for air.

“Rose please you’re crushing me…”
“Ah sorry daddy! I was just so excited!”
"Who's that…"
In the midst of all the drama, we were spotted by both the adventurers and the dragon. Those words were muttered by the bearded leader of the unit as he looked at us with disbelieving eyes.
“Alex you said that there wasn’t any lifeforms anywhere near us!”
“There shouldn’t have been, these individuals must’ve hid themselves with magic or have moved here at a frightening spe-” This time a blue haired individual who look much younger than the leader spoke.
A breath of fire, hot enough to melt rock was shot towards the unit, interrupting the conversation that the two were holding. The dragon began to crawl at an unbelievable speed but not towards the unit. The dragon sped into the trees, leaving a trail of broken trees in its midst.
“He’s going for the prince men! Don’t let him reach him! After the beast!” With that the adventurers all left in a hurry.
Despite not knowing anything that’s going, I felt the need to go towards where they went.
“Rose can you sense anyone else on this floor apart from the group we just found?”
“There’s two other things far away but one doesn’t feel like the others…”
“Can you take me to them?”
Hearing my request, Rose once again grips the collar of my shirt and bolts off. Having to have to go left and right this time to dodge the trees, the ride was a lot more bumpy and nausea inducing them the previous and in less than 10 seconds we arrive. Coming to an abrupt stop, I once again get hit with a feeling of nausea and empty out the rest of my stomach.
“Daddy if you keep vomiting the girls won’t like you.”
Rubbing my tear filled eyes clear, I see an individual probably no older than 17 in the same style armour as the adventurers as before gripping a lumpy towel while shivering crouched next to a tree. He just saw 2 people moving at such an incredible speed, I can’t say I blame him.
Extending my right arm, I offer him my hand. Unsurprisingly, he backs off further away from me.
This slightly hurt my feelings but I didn’t back off.
“I come in peace. I don’t want any unnecessary violence.”
“Only a demon or a god can move at that sorta speed. Do you think I’ll trust your word?” With this he slightly tightened his grip on the towel.
“Daddy, there’s something weird about that towel.” The soldier's eyes darted around the place as if looking for a way to escape.
“Can I see that for a second?” I slowly begin to move towards the boy with my arm extended out.
He starts to crawl backwards, with sweat pouring down his face. I kinda feel bad for him.
“If I was really as strong as a god or a demon, do you think that I couldn’t just take that from you? It’s not like I’m stealing it or anything, I just want to have a look. Besides, I'm pretty sure there's a dragon coming full speed towards you right now.”
It was clear by the expression on his face that he was weighing the positives and negatives whilst looking left and right as if on the lookout for something, he reluctantly opens the folds of the blanket to reveal a smooth blue stone. Specks of blue can be seen floating around the insides of the stone and a large concentrated pool of mana able to be felt from deep into the rock. A slight ripple going along the surface, the pulsations coming periodically, not unlike a heartbeat or the breathing of an animal.
