Luna's POV
I sat in the last row of the spacious conference room, away from the projection board. The room was enclosed by white walls, except for one side that had a glass window wall. Through the tinted glass, I could see a beautiful scenery of the city skyline. The sun was rising, painting the sky in bright blue and orange hues.
There was a meeting requested by the higher-ups to discuss what had happened on the raid. But honestly speaking, they were probably more interested in Ryu. A newbie surfer, who by accident, entered a Class-S Lucid Dream and still managed to clear it by himself. There was no spicier news than this.
There were going to be three other people who would attend this meeting besides me and Mr. Woo-Jin. Soon, an old man who looked like he was in his nineties entered the room. He had a cane in his hand to aid his walking. He had a long beard and his white hair was tied in a bun. His posture was bad, his back bent down and he was skinny.
Mr. Woo-Jin and I immediately stood up and greeted the old man, bowing our heads ninety degrees to show respect. This old man right here was my grandfather.
"Good morning, Sir Kim Dal-Min.", Mr. Woo-Jin said and assisted Grandpa to his seat, the seat closest to the door in the first row.
I walked to him and bowed my head to greet him, "Good morning, grandfather." He lifted his hand in the air and waved it forward, signaling us both to sit down. Although he was my grandfather, I didn't feel close to him. He didn't talk much to anyone in general.
The door opened again and a man in a suit entered. He wore a gray suit that perfectly showcased his good physique. He had white hairlines on the sides of his head, but they only added to his charm. He looked at me and smiled. "How's my daughter doing?" He said and hugged me.
"I'm fine, Dad. Looks like you're getting older every minute, huh." I said with a smirk, pointing at the gray hairlines on his head.
"Haha, I planned to dye them black again, but Vice President said this new look suits me best." He said while laughing and pointing his thumb to the woman behind him.
I immediately bowed my head and greeted the woman, "Good morning, sister." She let out a soft laugh, hiding it behind her hand. "No need to be so formal, Luna. You're like a sister to me." She replied. I excitedly hugged her. It had been a long time since the last time we met. I missed how her long red hair smelled like and how her beautiful brown eyes were magnified by her black rounded glasses.
"Good morning, President Kim Jun Ho. Good morning, Vice President Lee Yoona." Mr. Woo-Jin greeted the two.
"Why are you so late? Is it a trend now to make your father wait?" A clear but slow voice asked Dad. Grandpa really was not in the mood again.
"Sorry about that, Father. We're testing a new function for the app. It's undergoing beta testing today, so I needed to make a quick visit." My father replied, and it seemed like Grandpa was satisfied by his reason.
"Alright, everybody. Please sit down. I'll make it short because I'm busy today. That kid, Ryu, right? Recruit him at all costs." Suddenly, my father's aura changed into a serious one.
The four of them looked at each other and nodded. They seemed to have come to a single conclusion.
"But Dad, I'm curious about one thing." I raised my hand and asked my father.
"It's about the incident with the Dream Coin. Does it usually explode like that? It's because of that that he managed to survive." I added.
"The answer for that, Luna, is simple. It used to...before. You see, our ancestors utilized the Dream Coin to make things they wanted happen when they were in a dream. It had the power to make anything you desired come true within the dream realm, but that technique was lost a long time ago. No one, in three millennia, had managed to utilize the Dream Coin to its fullest, and the Dream Coin soon became useless. We needed to find a way to make use of those Dream Coins. That's also the reason why I created the app. And after over three thousand years, a person who can utilize a Dream Coin finally showed up. We must, by all means, recruit this person." Dad explained in a serious tone.

Now I knew how serious things were. If what Dad said was true, we really had to recruit Ryu. I felt their eyes on me, full of expectation and curiosity. It was annoying, so I asked, "Hm? Is there a problem?"
They all looked at each other, and sister decided to speak up. "Luna, you know the newbie, right?" she said in a soft tone. I think I got an idea of what they were all planning.
"Yes, a little bit." I answered, giving them a facial expression of "I KNOW WHAT YOU ALL ARE PLANNING."
"Well, we'd like to ask you to be the one to pursue him-" Before she could even finish her sentence, I interrupted her and shouted, "NO!"
"Luna, please. Do it for me, okay? We've got our hands full right now. The Nightmare Troop has started to make a move. And there's a sign that the difficulties of Lucid Dreams are getting higher and higher. You're the only one I can entrust this task to." Dad pleaded, looking tired and worried.
"Haysst...Alright, I'll take it. Text me the address, and I'll pay him a visit now. The rest of the meeting seems to be serious, so I won't get involved any longer." I stood up and got ready to leave. Before I exited the room, I turned back and looked at them all in the eyes.
"Be careful, guys." I said, worrying that they might be in deep trouble. They all nodded and smiled back, except for Grandpa and Mr. Woo-Jin.
I went downstairs and went to the company's kitchen. I made myself some brewed coffee. I drank it and I finally felt refreshed. The bitter taste of a freshly brewed coffee pumped my blood.
"This is how coffee should be," I exclaimed, enjoying my morning coffee.
"I really can't get along with you. You're just 18 but your taste on coffee is worse," a girl who's in her 20s said. She walked towards me and made herself an instant coffee with a creamer.
"Why bother drink a coffee if you'll add a ton of creamer. You should've just drink milk instead." I replied and laughed.
She's Cho Eun-ha, my dad's secretary. She's too young for her job, but nobody else has more skills than her in the office field. I watched her drink her coffee. She fixed her black hair before making a sip.
"I've sent his information to you. He's in the other city, it's not too far from here. Mr. President said that he's an important person. You got yourself some troublesome work, huh?" Sister Eun-ha said, only looking at her coffee.
"Yeah, I would rather raid a Class-S dream than to do some ground work." I replied coldly after taking a sip of my coffee.
"But I heard he's a special case." She said and emptied her cup. She went to the trash can and threw her cup.
"I better get going. These lucid dreams are on all-time high since 1940. Plus, some bandit group are trying to plot things in the dark." She added and walked to the door.
"Luna! Fighting!" she said before leaving.
"I guess all the people around me are busy on their own problems. I have no choice, do I?" I thought to myself before emptying my cup and left.
I went to the parking lot and drove to where the address is. It says that he had an accident just 2 days ago and currently being treated in the hospital. I didn't expect that a patient would be able to clear a Class-S dream on his own.
After an hour of driving, I've reached the hospital where he's staying at. I parked my car and entered the hospital. I was greeted by a spacious lobby room. I asked the attendant nurse, "Good morning. Could I ask for the room number of Ryu Sakka? I was informed that he's admitted here. I'm his friend. "
"He's in the third floor, room 313. It's good to know that someone finally visited him. He's been here for almost 3 days but no guardians have checked on him. His hospital fee is already covered by his health insurance but still..." the nurse said with a worried look.
I smiled at her and assured her, "Thank you for your concern. I'll get going now." I bowed my head slightly and entered the elevator. I clicked the third floor button and waited for it to close.
"Wait! Please hold it!" A middle-aged woman yelled hurriedly, chasing for the elevator. I clicked on the open button and held the door for her.
"Thank you very much!" she said while catching her breath. "Darling, come here faster." she waved her hand to someone. It looked like she was with a patient.
"Coming, mom!" a voice of a boy replied. I was shocked by what I saw.
"Isn't he the boy with Ryu last night?" I thought to myself while trying to hide the shock on my face.
I hid my face and faced the other way, trying not to be recognized by the kid. If not handled properly, Lucid Surfing might be revealed to the public and if they knew that monsters were trying to invade earth, panic might occur. I'll find a way to talk to the boy alone later. I'll need to talk to Ryu for now.
The elevator finally reached the third floor, but to my surprise, it seemed that they were also going to the third floor. They exited the elevator, but the lady stopped and asked me, "Aren't you going to the third floor as well?"
"Uh..uh..I forgot something. Please go on first." I answered in panic. Ha....I can't believe that a Class-A raider like me would be flustered in this kind of situation. As I thought, I'm never fit for this kind of work.
After that, I stayed in the elevator and rode it on the way back to my prior destination. The elevator door opened and I checked first if the boy wasn't in the corridors. Once I confirmed that the coast was clear, I immediately went to room 313.
"Please excuse me," I said before entering the room uninvited. I looked around, but I didn't see anyone. I noticed a note on the bed and read it. It said, "Hello. I went out for some exercise. I'm fine now. Please prepare for my discharge. I'll come back after I'm done. Thank you!"
I immediately opened my phone and looked for the map. It seemed like there was a park near the hospital. I looked at the time. It was 10 a.m. in the morning. Gosh, he had recently been in an accident and now he was working out already. Was he some kind of robot or something?
I went down to the lobby and handed the note to the attendant nurse. I told her that it seemed like he sneaked out early in the morning and that I was going to get him back in their stead. She thanked me and requested that if I could do it as soon as possible, she would be more grateful. I nodded, knowing that they would probably be in a tough spot if the doctor found out.
I bought coffee on my way to find him at the Starbucks. I didn't know what he liked, so I just bought a macchiato, the safest choice. And I also bought myself a cold brew.
When I got there, I could see him already. It was actually not too hard to find him. After all, he was the only one who was training his martial arts. I approached him and said, "Hey, Ryu! Fancy meeting you here!"
He stopped and asked, "Hey, Luna. What are you doing here?"
Well, that was not the kind of response I was expecting. Normally, the people in movies would be flustered when this kind of thing happened.
"I'm here to see you, of course. I have something important to tell you." I replied.
"What is it? How did you even find me?" he said in return.
I grabbed his hand and pulled him to the nearest bench in the park. The morning sun was shining brightly, and I could hear the birds chirping and the children playing.
"Follow me. I'll explain everything," I said, hoping he would trust me.
