Leaf's Perspective

Meanwhile at Jade Mountain.

As Leaf woke up, he saw he was still in the cage, except it now had a pile of hay in one corner and a water bowl in the other. As he became less groggy, he saw the Icewing who had stayed after they argued with the other one before. It was lying on a ledge coated with Ice and then he saw a sand dragon, a sandwing? As Wren called them.

Leaf sighed, he missed Wren. And also Ivy. He really hoped Ivy was ok. He saw that the Sandwing was talking to the Icewing. Or more like talking at him. The icewing seemed to be ignoring him or occasionally growling at him. From the broken words leaf had learned in Dragon from Wren he could hear what they were saying.

I will do the normal way dragons talk except I will use words Leaf understands in italics.

SW: Bro you can't keep ignoring me. You need to help complete our homework.

IW: No I don't. Good Night.

Leaf watched as the Sandwing sighed and turned toward a rocky desk like thing, holding out some paper and starting to write on it. Leaf turned to lay on his hay and slowly drifted off to sleep.

The next morning

Leaf woke up to something poking him in the back. Something sharp. It stopped and he turned toward it, realising it was the Icewing. He growled and shoved something dead and disgusting into Leaf's cage. Leaf moved back, wrinkling his nose. It was another dead animal. Leaf just stared with hollow eyes at the Icewing, before the icewing became uncomfortable, taking the animal and leaving the cave.

Later on, Leaf had managed to nudge over a bendy and twisty stick near his cage, using it to jam and break the cage. When the icewing tried to get him out using the key, and being unsuccessful, he left the key next to where Leaf was in the cage, and left the cave. Then Leaf took the stick out carefully and used the key to unlock the cage.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

He decided to run, soon passing the Icewing going back to the cave, who looked bewildered and then furious as he dropped another key and scrambled after him. Leaf had though managed to get into a place crowded with dragons. He could hear their loud shouting and growling, and what was strange, occasionally a chicken clucking. And then tight claws grabbed him and Leaf panicked as he looked into the eyes of a black dragon.

But instead of immediately eating Leaf, the dragon looked at him with gentle and kind eyes, before turning in front of her where the Icewing was standing. He glared and proceeded to shout at the small black dragon, Leaf was thinking of calling her a "Nightwing" (lol im just doing this cause i dont wanna keep saying black dragon, takes too long to type).

Then the Sandwing who stayed in the cave with the Icewing stepped and, and after a while the nightwing let Leaf go in front of the Icewing. They talked for a while as well, before the nightwing gave Leaf a blueberry, but a GIGANTIC ONE. He was sceptical but took a small bite out of it. It was so delicious and Leaf was starving, so he downed it in a matter of seconds. Later on Leaf was locked back in his cage, with a pile of different assorted fruits opposite his "hay bed".

He went to sleep again. A routine ensued, every morning, Frosty (As leaf called him) would wake him up, poke a fruit toward him, and observe Leaf eating this fruit with interest. Then the Sandwing's head, who Leaf named Phil (For no apparent reason)and nagged Frosty until he left with him. Then Leaf sat in his cage the whole day for 3 days. Gradually, Leaf found himself growing on the icewing, who was actually treating him nicely, giving lots of food and water, and giving him clay to use to play.

Then on the 4th day Frosty rushed into the cave and grabbed Leaf in his cage, which spilled the water and made it and the hay fall through the bars of the cage, and his fruits to pop and also fall through. Frosty carried him outside, on a clearing next to the mountain. He nudged Leaf out tried to get him to leave, but Leaf didn't want to. He wanted to stay, since he had nowhere else to go, and did not know where his little village with the others was from here or whether Wren would be there. And Ivy. Oh he missed Ivy.

Then Frosty broke his train of thought by roaring at him, and then he stopped as he saw some other dragons flying toward him, two being Phil and the nightwing he had named Midnight. Frost roared at him again and brandished his claws, so Leaf ran away and slid down the mountain, weaving between the trees as he heard the group of dragons roaring.
