Amidst the rugged landscape of the unfamiliar realm, Ane, Slade’s Wyrm familiar, coiled its serpentine body around a large two-meter golem made of rocks and gemstones, shattering it into pieces without remorse.
|
That creature, the Baby Mineral Golem, had attacked Aella’s parents as they searched desperately for their daughter, who had become separated from them in the chaos of their arrival.
Slade held his wife close, their arms wrapped around each other, finding solace in their shared determination. The intensity of the situation hung in the air, but Slade’s voice, steady and unwavering, broke through the tension.
“Aella is safe, Ana. I know she is. We’ll find her, I know it.” Slade reassured her, his eyes reflecting his conviction. He reached up to his earring, tapping it, causing a pill to appear in his hand. A small, inconspicuous storage artifact that stored all his important tools.
“We were lucky. Monsters in Mountain Abysses aren’t that hostile unless you anger them first. Regardless, we won’t leave a single stone unturned, quite literally if we must,” He said, his words carrying a certain weight to them as he eyed the pill he grabbed.

The northern winds ran, whispering ancient secrets as they swept through the mighty mountains, carrying the scent of unknown flowers and adventure as Aella joyfully followed along, keeping up with these powerful winds with ease.
As she ventured together with the wind, she expanded her senses to their limit. As a Foxin, she was blessed with exceptional senses, and those only grew after entering the Ursa Minor realm.
Just moments after her, she freed her senses she picked up a small group of people huddled together. 5 people, two of whom seemed to be growing closer to their final breaths.
‘They’re dying? Judging by the speed of their breathing, they’re not bleeding out, and if it was a beast, they wouldn’t be alive while being so still.’ She mused, leading her mind to only one remaining possibility.
As she drew nearer, her keen eyes caught a scene which she could only roll her eyes at how predictable it was. Without hesitating, she manifested an ethereal sword and sent it flying toward the scene. A loud THUNK! Following shortly thereafter.
“What the?!” A panicked cloaked man exclaimed. “Reinforcements?” His partner, who was also cloaked questioned.
Ignoring them, Aella walked right past them without them noticing until she was already at her destination, a young dragon scowling at her, ready to bite.
“They’re alive… Good, I made it in time.” She sighed, turning to face the two shady figures who rode a top of Dragons.
The scene she arrived at was that of two hooded figures attacking a small family the same size as hers actually. A young girl who was only a year or two older than her, that girl’s mom and dad, and a bulky and large yet young-looking dragon.
“Such superficial wounds. Y’know, if you’re gonna torture someone’s family, make sure they’re bleeding out. That way, even if you fail your objective, you can gain something out of it by traumatizing one of the family members.” Aella chuckled, teasing the masked men.
“A little girl? No, you’re also a [Naturalis]! You’re trying to protect this calamity?” Masked man 1 scoffed in anger.
“Oh, cats out of the bag, huh?” Aella pretended to be surprised, feeling her ears. “So, what’s the deal with you guys? Killing kids as a pass time, or were you ordered to do this? I can’t possibly ignore the conspiracy involved in you calling this little girl a calamity.”
‘Since I’m finally playing this game, I guess I should try out some of my skills, huh? [Apprasial]’

‘Yeah… Try giving me something I can’t figure out at a glance next time.’ Aella scoffed inwardly.

“Little girl! Move out of the way before we hurt you! That THING is dangerous!” Masked man two shouted.
“Hey kid, are you hurt at all?” She asked, making sure not to get too close to the large dragon protecting her.
Getting a closer look, Aella realized that this lass wasn’t human. At least she didn’t appear human.
With grand black feathered wings and a glowing crimson halo above her head illuminating her platinum blond hair and bloody eyes, tears fell.
She shook her head hesitantly, trying to wake her parents up.
“Good… I’m not capable of healing people. Not yet.”
Turning her head back to the two who so patiently waited, a nervous frown appeared on her face.
“Judging by your Mana, you’re both at the beginning of the [Scourpious] level. I don’t need Sylph to beat you, but it’s been a long time since we got to play together.” She spoke calmly, contrary to her expression, as her aura flared up, revealing that her cultivation was only at the Ursa Minor level.
When Cultivating Mana, there were 10 stages, and each was further divided into 5 lesser stages.
1st Constellation Ursa Minor, The Little Bear.
2nd Constellation Ursa Major, The Big Bear.
3rd Constellation Scorpius, The Scorpion.
4th Constellation Leo, The Lion
5th Constellation Draco, The Dragon
6th Constellation Auriga, The Charioteer
7th Constellation Orion, The Hunter
8th Constellation Persius, The Hero
9th Constellation Lyra, The Harp
And the 10th Constellation Libra, The Scales.
“This little brat! Don’t get in our way!”
“Just kill her! We can’t leave any witnesses anyway!”
‘The wounds on those humans aren’t fatal. Hell, their skin isn’t even punctured. Then they tell me to get lost before they hurt me only to blatantly say they need to kill me? Something is wrong here…’
The two adults ignored her ominous words causing Aella to sigh before her expression changed once again, this time a face-splitting grin covering her face.
“Little kids who haven’t even lived for a century think they can hurt me. Well then! Come on! Attack me! I’ll give you the first 3 free!” She chuckled manically. “Make sure you don’t screw this up though. You only get 1 chance.”
Under his hood, the man riding on the fire dragon shook in fear, a single bead of sweat falling from his forehead.
“Kill her! Emberling Dragon!”
The serpent opened its mouth with a roar before releasing a fireball the size of a volleyball at Aella.
From behind, the little girl called out. “No! Run away!”
Paying no mind to her words, Aella let herself be engulfed by the, which quickly began to dissipate upon hitting her.
In the roughly 3 seconds that it took for the fire to vanish, Aella had disappeared from her spot, only for the fire-breathing dragon and his master to hear a voice behind them.
“Whispers of the Sylpheed, on the breath of the moon, In gossamer breezes, weave your ancient tune. With a flick of this fan, 'neath starlit sight, Sylpheed's Whisper, emerge in night's soft light.”
“W-what the?!” The man panicked, his dragon attempting to swipe at Aella, only for her to casually avoid it by hopping off.
“What are you doing? Get her, you idiot!” The man on the fire lizard shouted at his accomplice.
Nodding, the man commanded his dragon to attack Aella, once again missing her by a hair as the wind pushed her like a weightless feather.
“Verse 1, {Sylpheed’s Whisper!}”
The winds grew angry and blew the men off their dragons as a steel fan with a splendid aura appeared and slowly floated down to Aella from above.
She turned to face them as the dragons continued trying to attack her, only to narrowly dodge each attack with centimeters to spare.
With her fan in hand, a simple wave toward the infernal dragon sent it flying into the distance.
“I expected you to be weak, but this is a joke. Were you artificially boosted to the Scorpius Stage or something?” Her manic smile vanished from her face, replaced with pure disappointment.
She finally got her Magic back and her first toys were dumb and dumber. She couldn’t even pretend this was fun.
““You?! What are you? How can the force generated by an Ursa Minor be so powerful?”” The men questioned in unison.
“Hmm, me? I’m lots of things. A cute lil’ fox girl, a God Slayer. And I’m certainly more of a calamity than that little girl.” With each example, her tone changed. From a cutesy girl more fitting her age to a wise, all-knowing sage, she ends off being completely serious.
‘It’s getting dark. I don’t have night vision until I get my second tail. I’ll need to spend the night prying information from these idiots. Maybe they know where Mother and Father are.’
Nodding to herself as she confirmed her plan, she began round two of their bout, the entire time, the girl in the background witnessed the battle unfold before her eyes, staring in awe at Aella, who was younger than her yet was defending her family.
