CHAPTER 684 BATTLE IT OUT IN ONE GAME
Duncan stared smugly at Maximilian and hoped that he could see Maximilian being surprised at the
rules.
However, Duncan was disappointed.
Maximilian looked composed, as if the rules explained by him were something childish in Maximilian’s
eyes. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
"The rules are not that out of fashion, but the first two games are too simple, and we can totally leave
them out. Let’s go straight to the third game and battle it out in one game." Maximilian suggested flatly.
Duncan’s face became grim in an instant. He gazed carefully at Maximilian.
Either an arrogant and ignorant person or a truly skilled one would say such words.
However, after looking at Maximilian narrowly, Duncan still didn’t believe that Maximilian belonged to
the latter. Instead, he affirmed by instinct that Maximilian was saying that to show off himself in front of
Beatrice.
"You really talk big. Since you want a speedy death, I won’t keep you any longer. Let’s battle it out in
one game!"
Beatrice’s heart was hammering in her throat. She stared at Maximilian crossly.
Although all this was set up by some backstage manipulator, if Maximilian lost the game, Beatrice was
still worried that she would lose all her fortune because she was not sure whether the backstage
manipulator would keep his word or not. Therefore, in Beatrice’s point of view, the most reliable solution
was that Maximilian won the bet.
Beatrice bent over and whispered into Maximilian’s ear, "You’re being too reckless. If you lose, I will be
totally done for. Are you going to support me in your family for the rest of your life?"
The breath coming out of Beatrice’s mouth floated into Maximilian’s ear as she spoke, making it itchy.
"There’s no 'if', and it’s a total waste of time to play big or small. I earn tens of millions of dollars within
one second, and I have no time to waste."
Those big shots saw that Beatrice wanted to stop Maximilian’s bold move and started to taunt him.
"Beatrice, don’t you believe in the master invited by yourself? Since Mr. Lee wants to make a show of
his skill, don’t stop him."
"Now that Mr. Lee has boasted about himself with all his might for the sake of you, let him enjoy himself
to the full, while we can also watch a great show."
"It’s more thrilling to determine the winner in one game. Beatrice, don’t mess this up. Let them have an
excellent game. Judging from Mr. Lee’s provocative manner, one may think he is so powerful, though
he will lose the game sooner. Ah ha..ha..!"
Beatrice raised her eyebrows in anger, stared coldly at these men and clenched her teeth with
resentment, wishing she could bite them to death.
The big shots didn’t care about Beatrice’s feelings at all, urging Duncan to start the game at once.
Duncan picked up the dice box on the table, waved his right hand and shook hard.
While shaking the dice box, Duncan looked like a King of gambling.
With some swooshing noises, Duncan slapped the dice box down on the table.
"Mr. Lee, I’m done. Shall I open it first, or shall we open them together when you’re done shaking?"
Maximilian leaned back in his chair lazily and said with a casual air, "Ask them. I don’t mind."
Those big shots exchanged glances and said together, "Duncan, open the lid first, and broaden Mr.
Lee’s mind. He may not dare to shake the dices after looking at yours."
Duncan laughed complacently, glanced at Maximilian in disdain, and then opened the lid slowly.
Beatrice’s eyes fixed on the dice box. When she saw the dices inside, her face turned pale
immediately.
Meanwhile, the other big shots were laughing recklessly and staring scornfully at Maximilian.
"Have you seen that, Mr. Lee? All the dices split right down the middle, and the pieces with dots facing
up are six dots and ace. Duncan can get seven dots with only one dice. I wonder if Mr. Lee is able to
shatter the dices by shaking them?"
"He can shatter fucking nothing. He can’t even crunch them with his teeth. Mr. Lee, give up now! We
are waiting for your money to go on a spree."
Maximilian shook his head, smiling. "It’s impossible for you to take a penny away from me. Duncan is
just so so. He’s not even good enough to lace up my shoes."
Duncan flew into a rage.
Propping himself up with his arms on the table, he stood up, poked his head towards Maximilian and
said with a grim face, "I’m just so so? Then shake a good one for me, Mr. Lee!"
"A dice has six surfaces and 21 dots in total, but you’ve only got seven dots with one dice, which
means you’ve failed. Since you want to see it, I’ll show you."
Duncan snorted, staring at Maximilian’s right hand up in the air with his piercing eyes.
Maximilian took up the dice box and shook it twice gently, applying a hidden force tactfully to the dices
inside.
The dices were shattered into six surfaces silently, each surface with dots facing up.
Maximilian put the dice box on the table casually, stretched out his hand and made a "please" gesture.
"In order to fully convince you, please open the lid."
Duncan stared at Maximilian suspiciously, muttering to himself.
Duncan had watched each of Maximilian’s movements carefully just now.
Maximilian’s movements were slow to begin with, and Duncan didn’t find out any cheating action at all.
Besides, Duncan was totally confident in himself, believing that no one could ever cheat under his
nose.
However, why was Maximilian acting so calmly, and even asking him to open the lid?
Duncan was in total puzzlement, not knowing why Maximilian believed in himself so much.
The confused Duncan reached out his hand, held the lid, and lifted it up little by little.
Beatrice held her breath, her eyes fixing on the dice box, and prayed in her mind that God should bless
Maximilian.
When the lid was completely open, Beatrice found the scene she was watching beyond belief, as if her
anxiety had caused hallucination.
Beatrice blinked her eyes and threw another glance at the dice box. When she made sure it was not a
hallucination, Beatrice took Maximilian in her arms excitedly.
"You’re amazing! How did you do that? It’s like magic. How marvelous!"
Maximilian answered her with a cool face, "It’s just a piece of cake, but that’s enough hugging! I’m
taken, and you’re taking advantage of me by doing that."
Excitement froze on Beatrice’s face, and she went crazy inside.
Beatrice loosened her arms and sulked, "Many men don’t even have the chance to be held by me.
Don’t kiss and tell!"
"I never kiss other women." After that, Maximilian looked at Duncan and gave a thin smile. "Do you
have anything to say?"
Duncan’s arms, which were propping him up on the table, were trembling, and there was a layer of
sweat on his forehead.
