Roudel looked with a contorted expression of anger at the effeminate figure who was slowly retreating so as not to attract attention to himself, even the darkness in his eyes increased until it filled half of his pupils.
"How dare you, you pervert, threaten my friend!"
Doudrian was seized with extreme terror and felt a cold sweat invading his entire body. He stood frozen in place, as if his legs had lost their strength, and even after giving them orders, they refused to move. And how could it not happen to him and that sinister look he was glaring at him with his half-black eyes and that ominous dark violet aura began to seep out of Roudel's body, visibly apparent?
"W-what are you looking at, you...! Have you gone mad? Don't you know who I am?"
Doudrian was in a state he had never experienced before. He had always been the spoiled boy who got everything he wanted without having to strain a single brain cell or muscle in his body. His parents provided everything for him, and in fact, that was one of the reasons that led to Doudrian's deviation from his nature. When his parents realized where their excessive pampering had led him, it was too late, and the boy was no longer susceptible to changing his ways, at least not in an easy manner.
"Do you not know who my father is!"
And here they made the same first mistake, the excessive fear for their son, and because of that excessive fear, they made him get anything he wanted without making him feel the extent of the effort one might go through to get what they want, meaning they prevented him from getting anything without his help.
"W-withdraw now, and I won't tell my f-father about your mistake."
And this also made him quickly feel bored, in the end the things that are easily obtained will not have any lasting pleasure, unlike things that are difficult to obtain and that one cherishes. And when they saw the deviation that had happened to him, they could have corrected it the hard way, but again their extreme fear stopped them.
'Damn, what brought this upon me? Who would have thought that this stupid guard would turn out to be such a monster? If I had known, I wouldn't have even thrown a fleeting glance at him, let alone complicate things for him.'
Doudrian truly regretted spending every second bullying Roudel, especially when he saw Roudel, who looked like a monster, seemingly unaffected by intimidation.
'This cursed one is truly slippery. He can't be made to disappear easily. I must find a solution quickly, or else it will happen again, and then we won't be lucky for things to end well as before.'
Rayn cursed when he saw that the darkness was quickly increasing, realizing that things were about to get worse if not diverted quickly.
'But what should I do for Roudel to believe me?'
'Think of a quick solution, Rayn. Things are about to get worse, and you're just standing there watching?' Rayn tried his best to wring his brain to come up with a solution.
"But what should I do for Roudel to believe me, even though he trusts me he couldn't concentrate on my words, so if I want to solve this problem, I must find something to make him forget about thinking."
As Rayn was pondering a solution to this dilemma, Roudel finally moved from his place. As for the direction, it was naturally towards the effeminate figure. With each slow step Roudel took, Doudrian felt that a part of his courage was disappearing.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
"Do you not know who I am to look at me with such a gaze? I am Dordrian Delavega. Do you even know the extent of the forces standing behind me?"
Footsteps.
"Do not come near me. I am your master's close friend, so if you touch even a hair of mine, you will suffer severe consequences."
Footsteps.
"I am sorry for everything I have done to you before. I have crossed the line. Can you forgive me this time?"
Footsteps.
Fear threatened to make the effeminate man lose control of himself, reverting him to a newborn baby. He could even feel his silky clothes dampening underneath him... This might seem exaggerated, but the circumstances he had lived through had truly made him this kind of person.
"What do you want from me to leave me alone? Just say it, and it will be yours."
'I... I'm scared.'
It wasn't just Dudrian who was overwhelmed by fear, but even the carriage driver, who wasn't too far from the two, felt the extent of dread from the aura emanating from Roudel before she even feared the suspicious color of his eyes.
'But I don't want to run away.'
The carriage driver had been one of Dudrian's victims, a young girl of fifteen when she fell into his hands. Despite not many years passing since she became a maid, her appearance had drastically changed. Gone was her youthful beauty, and even the signs of her youth were no longer visible on her body. She wore baggy clothes to hide her appearance.
'I wish he could experience even a fraction of what I've been through during these years.'
If there was anyone the carriage driver hated to the core, it would undoubtedly be Dudrian, who had done everything to her. Therefore, when she saw him bullying Roudel, she couldn't help but feel pity for Roudel. Then, when she saw the change in dynamics between the two, she felt a sense of exhilaration,as if Dudrian was now the one to fear her.
'I wish I were in his place.' She felt a connection between herself and the guard.
"Damn, why didn't I bring some guards with me? Who knew I would encounter such a monster in this short time? You, stupid driver, do something, or else I won't go easy on you when we return to the palace."
The young girl, who was afraid of Roudel but even more jubilant about Dudrian's predicament, especially when she saw her singer master's fearful face instead of his usual intimidating one with women or his flirtations with handsome men. This truly made her grateful for this guard. However, she must stand with the effeminate man, if only visually. Otherwise, if something happened to him, she would be the first to be punished. Even though the word "punishment" didn't quite describe what would happen to her if he was truly harmed.
"P..please step back. The young master has wronged you, s..so the Delavega family promises to look into this matter."
In her wildest fantasies, the young girl didn't believe Roudel intended to kill Dudrian. She thought he would scare him at most, or if the guard went mad, he might physically assault him. But kill him? Perhaps if she knew his true intentions, she wouldn't have tried to persuade Roudel to stop.
"P..please, let's agree to resolve this matter peacefully and n..not resort to violence."
When Dudrian saw the trembling driver standing in front of him, blocking Roudel's approach, he regained some of his composure.
"Yes, I was wrong to you. Therefore, when I return to the palace, I will make sure to inform my parents so they can compensate you. And who knows, maybe you won't need to work after today."
Although he seemed to admit his mistake, what he harbored in his heart towards Roudel was entirely the opposite. He didn't feel such humiliation before, at least not from someone close to his age and from a commoner. So, the resentment he held towards Roudel had reached its peak. He vowed that as soon as he returned home, he would order his father to send some of his knights to cripple him, so he wouldn't need to work ever again. This was the only thing Dudrian was sincere about.
Roudel didn't listen to either of them and continued to calmly walk towards Dudrian, causing both of them to frown and their bodies to tremble. As for Rayn, he already knew that such words would have no effect on Roudel in such a state.
The driver knew she couldn't do anything against an ordinary guard, let alone someone with such an aura. Throughout her life, she had never heard much about the power of those who possessed an aura until she saw it once from the head of the family, Dudrian's father, who used it, and he became a superhuman being. It was a spectacular display of power that could change the geographical features of the place.
She had witnessed that spectacle from a distance, so she didn't know what it felt like for someone to see an aura directly in front of their eyes or to come into direct contact with it. While each person's aura gave a different, personal sensation, she didn't know all of that. All she knew was that this purple-black aura in front of her gave various sensations, all of them bad. She felt a sense of doom, loneliness, fear, and anger. As a result, what happened to her mirrored Dudrian's experience: she remained frozen in place, trembling, unable to move.
When Roudel was about to bypass her, she tried to raise her hands despite feeling pain. Her whole body trembled with fear and suppressed by the strong aura. When Roudel stood in front of her, he sensed a part of her suffering. Therefore, he look at her with sadness and gently placed his hand on her cheek without lifting her scarf, because he knew the reason she wore it.
"All this pain endured by a young girl your age, yet you didn't give up and continued on in this life. Even when you stood in front of your master, who caused you all this!"
He said, moving his palm gently on her cheek, not minding the roughness of the disfigured skin.
"You're truly a good girl who doesn't deserve to serve such a scoundrel. You deserve a much better life."
And as the girl heard Roudel's words and felt his gentle touches, sensations she had forgotten for years, she momentarily forgot all the fear and her duty to protect her master. She couldn't help but imagine how beautiful it would be to be a girl like other girls. Her trembling stopped, and tears streamed down her eyes, remembering that this was just a fleeting moment. She knew she could never be an ordinary girl again.
"Don't be sad. Who knows, relief may be closer... closer than you think." It was strange that her tears increased despite being promised a bright future.
