Chapter 36 - Rothschild Boy

Chapter 36 - Rothschild Boy

Elegant footsteps resounded on the main path of a garden surrounded by Sakuras, which were shedding their leaves as this character walked.

Black T-shirt, black pants, shoes, ponytail, and firm eyes. The atmosphere created by this person as he walked seemed that of a god who moved with indifference.

Many people were looking down the road where this person was coming, which seemed like an eternity.

An older person stood in front of the path the other was walking on and bowing spoke.

"Welcome to the Chen Residence Mr. Neil, please follow me."

Nodding, he followed the person who looked like a butler. The butler stood next to a carriage that was tied to two unicorns.

Zack entered the carriage as the door was closed behind him. The carriage departed, and the tour inside the residence began. A single residence was the size of an entire county.

The carriage moved across some rivers and mountains at an excellent moderate speed until they came to a mansion.

The carriage stopped as Zack put one foot out of the carriage and descended.

Other carriages were gathered and came from different directions to the mansion. He could even notice emblems of the other four families.

'It seems that today's celebration is not something normal.'

He entered through the main gate while receiving many strange looks from many visitors. These were wearing extravagant clothes, while Zack had regular dresses adorned with earrings.

"What are you doing here?"

A somewhat familiar voice sounded from the crowd. From the group, Peter appeared along with the Girl who had accompanied him earlier.

A few murmurs were heard as Zack just looked at him for a moment, then gave a sigh and continued on his way past him.

"Are you ignoring me?"

Without answering what he said, he continued on his way. Peter did nothing but grit his teeth and restrained himself; after all, they were at a Chen family celebration, and they couldn't hurt him.

An Asian lady in a shimmering blue dress and a great figure accompanied by her beauty walked towards him.

"You made it," she said.

"See you again crazy girl," Zack said.

Chen Mei smiled. She pretended not to hear what this one had said and simply walked over and grabbed him by the right hand. "Follow me."

"Preparations are done sir, the family anniversary celebration is underway and the scattered relatives are returning. I was informed that Miss Chen Mei crossed the entrance a few moments ago."

"Good, continue with your work and supervise everything..... Also tell Chen Mei to come and see me," replied the elderly man.

This man exuded authority as he looked out his bedroom window to the outside. Others would think this one was reveling in the scenery, but his eyes were so keen that they could see everything.

"You may come in."

Chen Mei entered through the door and bowed to the person in front of her.

"I pay respects to grandfather."

With a smile, the old man replied. "You know you don't need such formalities with me, come and talk to your grandfather for a while before the festivities begin."

"Tell me, how did you do in school?"

Chen Mei showed a kind of glow that disappeared quickly. Her grandfather, with his level of power, did not miss such a detail.

"Nothing relevant, people comply with what my lackeys say and no one gets in the way or comes close to meeting me, it really is difficult. Except for... Forget it."

"Ho, come on tell me it seems something interesting happened, you know you can't lie to your grandfather."

Chen Mei lowered her face a little, chagrined and feeling confused. She had wondered if it was a good thing she had given the bracelet to Zack.

That same bracelet had a significant burden and will only bring trouble for him later.

"What do you think, my child?" come on, tell grandpa" he walked over to her and placed his arm on her shoulder.

She raised her hand while showing her wrist. Grandpa looked at the hand for a moment uncomprehendingly until his eyes widened.

With a smile, he said. "He must be a person of great status and strength, tell me about him."

She kept her head down as she hesitated between whether to speak or not. Her lips parted, and she began to tell her grandfather.

"From the beginning he was never attracted to my beauty, much less my status. The day we met it was as enemies and even knowing who I am he decided to confront me."

But she couldn't have been more wrong; if Zack had known from the start who she was, he wouldn't hesitate to leave without making a fuss. This remained buried in Zack's mind without anyone knowing.

She continued talking and told him about the time they faced each other and battled. Even though he was less strong than her, he was able to keep up with her movements.

She told him how this one was discriminated against in front of her. Still, his eyes held firm like any immovable mountain and how in her moment of hardship, he appeared and saved her.

Her face was full of longing and admiration, while her eyes showed sadness.

"But?" asked the old man as he listened excitedly to what the girl said.

Mei lasted a moment before continuing. "Still I don't think she likes me or is even attracted to me."

The old man clenched his fist and said. "How dare you make my girl feel this way, it would be the greatest achievement of her life to be able to be with you. Does he even know how many suitors you have... Wait, if he doesn't like you, how does he have your bracelet?"

She recounted what happened and how he mistook the bracelet's charge for another charge.

The old man shifted and ran his hand over his chin as he moved back and forth inside the room.

"Well, it is decided, he will be invited to the family anniversary celebration. If he doesn't want to marry you his bracelet will be removed, on the other hand whoever decides to stay will have to pass a test."

"You will see that it is not easy to join the Chen family" He took out a phone and dialed. After a while, they answered.

"Mr. Chen, how can I help you?" *Unknown voice*

"I need you to research someone's information, and also create an invitation for that person."

The call ended after a while, and Grandfather voiced Chen Mei. "Soon Grandpa will meet that person you are talking about."

"There is a person who would like to meet me, follow me," Chen Mei said, holding Zack's hand.

"Stop!"

Chen Mei and Zack looked back as the crowd looked where the person who had shouted was standing.

Blonde hair, blue eyes, fair complexion, and average height were the descriptions that could be given to the physique of the person who spoke. At the same time, from his aptitude, he could be seen to have an attitude of confidence and authority.

"Miss Chen Mei, long time no see. I couldn't help but notice that you were accompanied by a person that I don't know, would you introduce us?"

Chen Mei turned and proceeded to walk without looking back, to which he replied. "It's none of your business."

"Forgive my intrusion. I just wanted to meet the people close to you, you know I hope I can get a chance to get your hand," She said.

The people around began to murmur and others to applaud.

"It would be splendid to see two geniuses together, the Rothschild Family and the Chen Family for the first time ever united." Said someone in the crowd.

Chen Mei stopped dead in her tracks when she heard what the Rothschild Family member said and without hesitation said. "Sorry, you're not my type."
