It was night as I stood indoors between the confines of the farmhouse.
Laj explained that he knew how to deal with demons, but if anything goes wrong I should run, even if it means from him.
Before I left the blacksmiths shop Gerhest had given me a few things to take with me, and I promised to return anything that he lended me. The things he had given me were quality items, A sword of course, flint (To start up a fire I had guessed), and leather padded armour, there were other things but I feel its useless to even mention them.
Gerhest had given me this armour to move around more efficiently, and even with its minor protection it should be enough if I found myself in a bad situation.
Right now Laj was outside keeping watch of anything within view, and there were torches on the outer side of the wooden fence from the farm.
And thats practically it, there wasn't much to say, but I expect to see a demon at least.
After looking outside for a short while, I turned my head back and focused on myself.
'Status' I thought out mentally and in less then a second a blue box with status titled at the top greeted my face
Status Window Name: Arvis Yorvell Level: 1 Titles None - Health: 100 / 100 Health Regen: 0.005 / Sec Magic: 100 / 100 Magic Regen: 0.05 / Sec Stamina: 100 / 100 Stamina Regen: 0.5 / Sec - Strength: 15 Agility: 7 Vitality: 11 Intelligence: 16 Wisdom: 6 Leadership: 0 Luck: 0 - Attack: 8(+13) Defense: 5(+15
Skills: Code Control: Program Class Code Implementer(Unique Class)
(Note: I tried doing what I could to fix this problem but whatever.. its good enough.)
I could have guessed that my stats would increase because of the sword and the armour, and Gerhest had even gave me a few of these small vials of "Life potions" or whatever he called them.
On my second day of work I recieved about +2 stats in strength in the morning when I had to chop trees, and on the day after I received +3 for repeatedly lifting and pushing down the bellows for the smithy, and on the third I gained one more. To put it simply, I don't get stats for beginning something and leaving it at that, I gain stats whenever I repeat, like lifting weights for example.
Apart from that, what I have not yet checked was my skill, so this time around I think it would be best if I did knowing that there might be more danger in the near future like Gerhest predicted.
I began with checking what it does.
'Um... Skill Code Control: program?' After a few seconds, nothing really popped up.. I waited for a bit to until I tried again.
'Code control: program skill check'
Still nothing.. then I thought about just calling the name.. I'm afraid since I have no idea what I am doing, if it works for status it should work for that skill.I decided on checking the class before the skill instead.
'Code Implementer'
I expected the same to happen for the Skill, but it appeared before me like normal
Code Implementer(Unique Class)
*This class is unique and only to you*
Many of the skills afiliated with this class are gained in specific actions that correspond to the class. This class allows you to use/gain/create unique skills of - Code Control -
Effects:
*Code Control Unique skills Available
*Special restrictions unrequired for certain skills
I was really suprised by this class, and since I have something that others don't I'm sure there's others similar to me in my case. I did notice that it said use/gain/create, so I'm really wanting to try that out.
I then looked back at my skill on the status.
I thought about it for a few seconds until it came to me. Why don't I just call out its name? I didn't know if there was a way to see the skill details, but I guess since I need a computer for programming wouldn't it be useless? Still, I threw that thought out the window and just did what I felt I should have.
"Code control: program"
After that second, a blue box popped up.
Iniciating activation... 10-
Huh? I waited until it was finished, but right as it hit the 5th second, I felt a pain like no other fucking thing I could have ever imagined.
I felt pain starting to shoot into my whole body as something ingrained itself into my brain, the pain was so much that I couldn't even move or even speak.
I could hear the seconds go by, but it felt like minutes as my whole body had felt thick needles with an electric touch go through my skin, muscles and bones, I could feel them invading my brain. I couldn't think, I couldn't focus, I couldn't do anything in those minute-lasting seconds. I had fallen to the floor, paralyzed from the nerve-wracking pain.
Even after the seconds had gone by the pain was still lingering in my head, I started getting all sweaty after the pain had gone. What was left was a numb arm and the lingering throbbing in my other limbs.
I felt like all my power had left me, and even if the box appeared, all I could see was the wooden floor of the farmhouse.
I waited until that lingering sensation left, and after a minute or so I got up sluggishly. It felt like a giant boulder was on my back as I tried to move, pushing myself towards the walls of the farm house and I was able to use it to stand up.
While I had myself leaning against the walls to stand I headed towards my room to lie down on the bed.
Upon reaching the bedroom I threw myself on the bed and I could see another box appear in front of me while I looked up.
Activation completed... Waiting for voice confirmation from User "Arvis Yorvell"
Voice confirmation, then I'll just say "Arvis".
As I said so the next second my right numbed out arm started feeling again almost immediately with small pulses of electrical shocks resonating with my heartbeat. It made my arm twitch nervously. A bunch of boxes started appearing out of nowhere, surprising me. They all looked different, but there was one that stood out from the others.
Personal System Program Executor Status File ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
This showed me that I was able to perform programming like I did before, but this time it would be harder then I would expect. I noticed my pain had gone and my arm felt normal.
After a short while I decided to recheck that skill.
Code Control: Program
This skill allows the user of programming within the dataspace of the system. However, the skill requires higher levels to perform Complicated system commands and requires higher levels if wanting to access the further, or main parts of the system.
Mp: -100 / Stamina: 50 / Health: -10 User can choose any of the three options he wishes to go with.
*As Skill level increases, so will the requirements to activate this skill*
Skill Level:1(0.0%)
Skill affinity: Beginner
[Effect:
Allows the use of programming of any type
Allows the ability to create/gain/use/Implement Codes within the Dataspace and the system
Allows the user to create Systems.
Allows the user to manipulate Code.
I had nothing to say, or think, this ability seemed too powerful, even if this was a game, I don't think people should have something like this. I thought about it for a while, if programming takes time to make and create commands that are registered into the system, then I should be able to use this in battle right?
Or would it take away my stamina each and everytime I issued a command?
Since it was my first time using it, nothing was taken from me, maybe because it had to be registered into my own system to take its effect, and since it was not registered, it didn't take any health, stamina, or magic.
I looked again, would my magic capabilities have something to do with this? Because it certainly ain't the same as stamina, so how do I even use magic? After asking myself this, I recalled the second I tried to do that supernatural thing where I would feel out my power, I did feel something. Since it's my arm thats affected by this skill the most, I wonder what I did.
Hmm...
'Code con-' I was interrupted when I had heard a loud screeching.
I got up and looked outside the guest window rather quickly, from there I saw two figures fighting. As I looked closer at what exactly was happening, there was only one simple word to describe it...
Demons, and not just one.
