{As I walk in the direction the Village Chief had hurriedly left, I scan my surroundings I see not a house, but a home. There’s such a distinct smell in the air that tells you this is a place of love and loss. As I walk through the home I see a Village Chief with a stern look, staring straight at me as soon as I enter)
“Um, hello Chief I was jus-”
{As I’m about to explain why I had Followed her and didn’t let myself out she interrupts me saying}

{I try to put on my best business smile and talk to her with a cheery tone}

^[Village Chief]`Sigh`, I’m the chief of Ishville and that brings the responsibility of the whole town unto me, while [Mary] is going to be a count of a whole collective of towns and villages, and if we were to come out publicly with our relationship, people from other towns might think that ours is getting better treatment from the Countess.

From what I can tell the only obstacle is your position as a newly appointed Countess can’t be asked to step down right away because of a relationship, but what about a village chief? They step down all the time and no one will bat an eye. Although it’s mostly done when the current Chief is too old or dies, I think some questions would arise after you step down, but I doubt that arguments that could start fights would occur.
