The Desolate Horde
The Horde appeared not long after the clouds parted and the sun finally shone through again. They came in their millions, infesting the ruins of the cities. They are shattered creatures, obviously part-human, but also partly something else never seen on Earth before. What made them is unknown, but they are easily the most common mob on the outskirts of the Nexus. You will usually find them in small groups or sometimes in larger clusters run by powerful, high-level Horde leaders.
They are weak one-on-one, but their strength lies in numbers. They will swamp the unwary explorer and bury him in a writhing tide of mutant flesh. The average member of the Horde is stupid, but be wary of the higher level ones. They can plan, and watch for weaknesses in your party. There are rumors of Horde clusters deeper into the Nexus that are almost like small cities, where high-level Horde leaders rule, and where the Aberrant Horde are created.

You should be on the lookout for the truly terrifying Aberrant Horde creatures: so far, the Reavers, the deranged Flayer Packs, the Biomech Horde, and the terrible Lone Hunters are all known, but there are probably more. These are all powerful mobs, and dealing with them takes experience and cunning. They are rare, but take some time to learn what they look like so that you know when to just run away.
