Nexus Robot Flocks
You might catch sight of a Robot Flock on the edges of the Nexus. They’re small, silvery, shiny, and fast, and there are usually dozens of them spinning around in a little whirlwind of flashing metal. They’re known to sweep the streets clean of any tech debris lying around after a fight, but if you leave them alone they usually won’t bother you. However, if you’re sufficiently weighed down with advanced tech components they’ve also been known to mug parties from time to time and grab their haul, so it’s probably best to keep your distance.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
Where they come from is anybody’s guess, but they’re likely self-replicating, and use the tech they collect to make more of their kind. If you’re feeling ambitious you can score some advanced computing components from any that you can kill (see: Upgrades; Computer Components and Manufacturing; Computer Systems). But they’re fast, and armed, and can swarm like you wouldn’t believe. So don’t just take a potshot at them if you’re bored, is the point.
