The scientist hesitated for a second after his decision, his arm lingered in the air before he shook his head and lowered it. The guilt builds up in his stomach as he continued onward to his short-term goal. An angry growl left his lips at the swarms of abominations. With no shield no longer protecting the beast, they all rushed in to attack the defenseless dragon.
The thunderstorm halted its onslaught of lightning to let the smaller abominations finish the job by eating away into the exposed wing flesh. The inventor couldn’t help but clenched his jaw upon hearing the faint cry from his summoning in the background.
“Those vile creatures succeeded… Their venom will paralyze his wings first leaving him to fall to his death...”
On cue, the great beast could hardly feel its wings after each continuous flap. Pure rage consumed the dragon as it began to thrash around, spewing flames every inch to burn everything alive into a crisp.
The scientist diverted his attention back on himself after coughing more blood. He looked down to eye the electricity around him was slowly dwindling to nothing more than little sparks. From the previous records of using it, he knew he'd only have a minute before the green liquid itself travel back into the small container.
At this point, Eraak was forcing himself beyond his limit. The longer he ran, the more his body tore itself apart, outside and inside, not generally a good idea for a person like himself. He’s a scientist, conducting experiments and reading magical and scientific tomes is his forte, anything physical was a no go. Not to mention experiencing this physical pain torture was not something he was accustom too.
The mad scientist shook his head and concentrated on the matters beforehand, his chest rose and fell with rapid breaths as his speed was gradually declining. The electrical sparks finally dissipate into nothingness which affected his movement to a higher degree. Now gone, the pain from before the electric power, came back at full force, even more, intense than before.
The mad doctor clenched his jaw at a headache being more prominent, blood dripping from his nose mixed with the sweat accumulating from his body. The only thing left keeping his speed intact was the green liquid.
“Sixty seconds is plenty.” He said as he grinned at the sight of the massive black wall coming into view miles away.
“With this much energy, I'll be able to make it no time.”Beyond the wall was his finishing end to this significant goal, his dreams will become a reality. Unfortunately, the grin on his face faded, his eyes widen at the realization of his movement was slowing down faster than he anticipated.
“No, NO, NO!!” Eraak yelled angrily at his inferior luck bestowed upon him. He yelled at himself mentally at the lack of experimentation of the new device, if only he had more time to continue his tests.
With no more power, the massive fatigue slowly devoured his body, resetting his immense speed back to his previous standard max. Decreasing even more as time goes by.
The scientist could feel his headache overpowering his mindset as he began to waver to the side. “Just a mile left…” he whispered. As it wasn’t bad enough, the annoying stopwatch in his head alerted him two minutes before the invisibility wore off. The constant beeping inside his torn mind was slowly driving him into a state of madness.
His jaw tightened as he scratches his head to force the annoying sound to disappear. So much was going wrong for the scientist as terrible thoughts enter his head, “Was this a terrible ideal?! YES…no… I DON’T KNOW! I shouldn’t have had to risk my entire existence as well as my family for this SINNER! No... he will be the one... CMON! THINK! YOU’RE ERAAK! THE INVENTOR, THE SCIENTIST! THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING I CAN DO!”
These thoughts were tempering his speed as it steadily declined. His mind was going haywire, breathing more than necessary which was draining his stamina. But it seemed like it wasn’t going to stop anytime soon. Until suddenly, he overheard a loud roar in the distant sky, bringing his mind back to focus for his summoning’s safety.
In the small battle, the dragons fatigue was showing as its basic attacks were missing its targets, not to mention the paralyzing venom was taking full effect on its wings, leaving the dragon to fall fast in a downward spiral into the thunderous clouds.
Eraak was boiling with anger from the loud cries off in the distance. Darkness and the occasional flashes of blue were all he saw in its vision. Ignoring his own pain, he shook his head from the constant doubts plaguing his mind and ran faster.
“Your sacrifice shall not be in vain ole great one! Ill survive and create the strongest being to avenge you comrade!”
Spiraling downwards, the dragon shot out from the bottom of the clouds at high speeds and crashed into the ground, causing a huge impact crater in the area. The Dragon’s eyes slowly closed, leaving Eraak’s right vision to see nothing but black. A small tinge of hope lingered in his thoughts as he kept the vision spell going.
With his summoning down, another problem arises as the remaining fluid in his body had gone back to refill the tube, now his body was back to square one, only barely able to jog at 20 mph. The scientist shook his head violently, frustration was taking over from the terrible circumstance. A new plan must be created and fast.
At half a mile away from the wall, he could see a silhouette of a tier 2 demon guarding the premise. Two white mechanical bots that looked like human’s skulls with blue eyes and antennas sticking out from the ears hovered by each shoulder of said demon.
A smile crept up to his face as an ideal plan was slowly forming in his head, piece by piece. To his knowledge, only one sensory demon stayed back at the wall to guard and relay messages to a higher command using their telepathy as the source.
Since hell is a massive area, the demon uses the bots as a two-way communication center. The bots enhance their telepathy to a much higher degree, ready to relay any urgent messages from any demon exiting the wall and are in dire need to speak to the higher command.
Sure, they had radio communications, but that technology was insufficient thanks to Eraak. The tech didn't have long-range capabilities as opposed to the bots. The later also had other uses such as a high-tech radar and weaponry built to them.
A smirk appeared, “This could work in my favor.”
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Approaching closer to the demon, Eraak’s right vision revealed another part of the land. His eyes gleam and immediately commanded in his mind, “Yesss! Attaboy! I knew your magnificent body would hold up! Now dragon, defend yourself, for the time being, don’t worry I'll find a way to get you out of there without them noticing.”
The humongous beast growled in understanding, using its powerful muscles it stood back up on its four legs and roared loudly towards the sky to let every creature in the vicinity know about its survival.
Its slender neck turned towards to the west, its sharp eyes saw thousands of demons with red armor flying towards its location, but without weapons. Again, they were underestimating the power of Eraak’s orange eye dragon, something they’ll have to pay for with their lives.
“KILL THE BEAST!” the horde roar proudly as they began to channel their demon magic and fired large red orbs at its location. Not in the position of dodging the incoming projectiles, the dragon took most of the damage head-on.
The demonic magic did sting a bit, enraging the beast as it retaliated by firing a large star shape flame at the horde, incinerating several demons before exploding and taking a chunk of the army. Both forces continued to attack one another, with the demon army losing more of their soldiers. The funnel storm reappeared and struck every inch of the obsidian ground near the dragon with ferocious bolts of lightning.
Fortunately for the beast, it had regained a margin of its stamina back to dodge the incoming strikes. It focused more on avoiding the attacks from the storm, rather than the horde of pathetic demons.
Suddenly after jumping away from a lightning bolt destroying the ground beneath it, a giant arm popped from the ground aiming for its neck. With quick reflexes, the beast dodged the incoming hand.
Again, the dragon jumped further back out of arms reach and blocked an incoming lightning bolt with a small blast of its own. The arm pulled itself from the ground, revealing another type of abomination. The title abomination was an accurate description of this species. A real sight of horror. There standing at its full height was a grey muscular humanoid creature with no eyes present on its face. Instead, gross veins harbor its eyeless face, however, the repulsive creature did have an eye, but its located on its chest. A large vertical eye, stare at it for too long and you will see the full horrors of hell unleashed upon your mind.
Below the eye was something quite unusual. A pair of humongous lips stretching across its waist, showing no signs of movement. The bipedal creature used its powerful arms to grab onto the upper lip and lifted it to reveal a hidden mouth with rows of large teeth and no tongue, almost the size of its entire waist.
All sudden an inhuman sound escaped its mouth. The surviving numbers of demons arriving on the scene immediately fled back from the terrible sounds coming from the abomination.
“IT'S HERE! GO BACK NOW AND INFORM THE GENERAL!”
The sound was anything like the dragon ever heard of. It was like centuries of pain and screaming from the mortals in hell trap and caged inside the monster’s body until now unleashed upon the area.
After several seconds It stopped.
The ground began to shake. Around the abomination, the dragon saw other arms akin to the bipedal monster, emerging from the field, attempting to pull their selves out in the exact fashion.
Eraak spoke towards his summoning, “Dragon I know you’re exhausted as I am, trust me. After all of this, I’m buying you a sweet juicy fish or steak or even broccoli whatever you choose! But first, I need you out of that area ASAP! Or you’re good as dead.
The mad doctor paid attention back to his regular sight. The magnificent wall was now prominent in his view which excited him. The fatigue plaguing his body nearly vanish, replacing it with a new-found surge of power which quickly overwhelmed his pain-filled body.
An Unsettling grin appeared on his face as he miraculously sprinted towards the sensory demon, who still hadn’t acknowledged the mad scientist’s presence thanks to his magic blocking its senses.
“Heh, don’t mind me, I have a small plan that will correlate with another. Use your dragon skills to find the nearest volcano and head there.”
Complying to its master’s orders, the great beast turned behind him, away from the swarm of abominations gathering and bolted towards the nearest volcano, which on average was 10 miles away.
Unfortunately, the abominations follow suit, not too far off from the dragon’s path. Like last time, the funnel clouds form again to slow the beast down.
The poor dragon cried from each successful hit. Fortunately, instead of faltering and slowing down, this brutality only pushed the dragon to its absolute limits.
Nearing the base of the volcano, a huge hand sprung from the ground and caught the end of its tail, with such strength it managed to stop the dragon in mid-run. The beast decided to breathe fumes of flames at the opposing hand.
Seeing as the burning option wasn’t working. It stopped its onslaught of flames and instead went in to bite the bothersome arm. Success was assured, the dragon free itself from its grasp, after tearing the arm into two but doing so, led a massive barrage of lightning to fire down onto its already stricken back.
The beast roared in antagonizing pain. The strikes of pure power destroyed the ground and inflicted far too much damage on the dragon, causing its confidence to dwindle as it now lowered itself to the ground. Seeing the dragon in such a weakened state fueled the bloodlust from the horde of abominations as they ran faster to claim the body.
A whimper came out of the dragon as it lowered its head and closed its eyes to await its death. On the brink of hope, a confident familiar voice entered his mind, in a commanding tone its master yelled. “The great beast, known as the Orange Eye dragon! Stand! And show these insignificant fools your true power! Do not give yourself into death’s hands!
Its master's willingness to not give up gave the great dragon a sense of the courage it needed. Believing in its master’s words, its bright orange eyes awakened. Power overflow as it stood back at its full height to glare at the mob of abominations approaching, all eager to tear the dragon apart.
Immense power radiated from the beast before letting out a magnificent roar towards the hellish skies. Letting all creatures know that it was not going down without a fight.
The mighty dragon steadies itself to prepare an all-out finishing move, as it gathered every ounce of power it held. An abrupt end to its roar as its chest puff outward.
The abominations ignored the overwhelming power building up in the dragon and pressed on forward. Yet the funnel storm acknowledged the massive power building and took no chance but to shoot a humongous electrical beam at the dragon to finish it off.
In a split second, before the attack could finish it off, the orange eyes glowed brightly and released a gargantuan orange beam of pure unimaginable power composed entirely of heat. The beams wave immediately dissipated the electrical beam and caused the volcano from behind to erupt.
The abominations dissolve into nothingness after being swallowed by the massive attack, destroying the obsidian ground reaching miles away before impacting a mountain. The aftermath explosion left no trace of a mountain ever standing in the area.
The great beast could feel itself slipping into an unconscious state before his master’s voice enter his mind once again. “Dragon hurry and enter the volcano! I’m aware you’re immune to the volcanoes heat, entering it would conceal you and in return helps me secretly summon you back without a hitch.”
The dragon nodded as it fought the tiredness unraveling on its body. It traveled towards the top of the volcano and forced itself into the molten lava with no hesitation. Inside the mountain, the great beast known as the orange eye dragon closed its eyes for slumber as it vanished inside the lava.
The reverse summoning undid Eraak’s orange eye color back to his original brown. A sting of pain from the eye caused him to close it as blood trickle down. A sigh of relief escaped his lips. “What a magnificent beast. I didn’t expect it to do this well and even live as long as it did. HAHah It seems like I owe you something big in return for giving me a great present, Celica hahah.”
Stopping his laugh, the scientist looked around the area of a familiar yet unknown scenery before him. He stared back at the fully visible human he had risked his life for.
“But first I have to get this troublesome mortal back to my lab.” His eye twitches from a single massive power source he sensed from afar.
“Before he arrives.”
