Dan arrived at his house, his mood still jubilant from the unexpected opportunity he had gotten.
He really had to change his perspective of this world. He was still holding the same mindset and expectations from this world as he did from his previous world.
The earth Dan came from had no humongous monsters but they existed here. The humans from Dan's world didn't have superpowers but the people of this world did.
And Dan wished to become one of such people but he had been too desperate even willing to throw himself in the wild where even the powerful metahumans lost their lives. It was almost like Dan had been treating all of it as a game, just a virtual world.
But today's conversation with Mark had woken him up and made him realize that he wasn't here to kill monsters and level up like in a game but to live a life, an exciting life. It was strange to realize such a thing from a conversation about a deal of some herbs but it had changed Dan's mindset and all that mattered to him.
But it didn't mean Dan wasn't going to try to become a metahuman. Far from it. He still had that same craving and the only change was that he wasn't desperate.
Dan was probably affected by the memories of Ian causing him to be confused. He had been ready to risk his life and jump into danger to become a metahuman without accessing the other options that might have been available to him. But now he was awake and ready to live the life to its fullest.

His previous life wasn't boring by any means but if he were satisfied with that, would he still be human?
Dan sighed and opened the door to his room. He took out the 8000 Zemos from his pocket and put it in a small drawer in the cabinet. He then freshened up and sat down on the bed with the laptop on his lap, ready to learn more about the world.

Dan groaned as he watched Mr John drone around in the classroom. He hated this period of his day with all his heart.
Dan looked around the classroom, boredom written all across his face. All the students were intently following Mr John, probably because of fear of the final exam that was coming up in a month. It would be the true final exam of their school and after that came the college.
Dan was quite fascinated by the recovery that humans had done just 39 years after that apocalyptic day. The education system, especially had fully recovered and people weren't forced to become fighters like they used to when the apocalypse struck. There were many career choices that people could choose before the apocalypse available now too.
"Dan. I see your eyes wandering. Are you not interested in what I am teaching or do you know all about it already? " Mr John said suddenly pulling Dan out of his thoughts.
Dan sat up straight on his bench and turned to Mr John who was now approaching Dan with a stern look on his face.
"Fucking old man. Leave me alone would you? "Dan cursed Mr. John in his head but there was nothing he could do to stop what was about to come.
"I feel like you know about it already. So why don't you answer one of my questions about the plants of the wild, huh? " Mr John arrived in front of Dan and said, staring straight at him.
Dan slowly stood up with his head bowed and nodded, " Bring it on you geezer. I don't think you know more than Lang. " He said and of course in his head.
Mr John flipped the pages of the book in his hand while the whole class turned to Dan. All the students were guessing how long Dan or rather Ian in their perception was going to get yelled at by Mr John.
Ian was a below-average student before Dan took over his body so everyone was expecting him to not know the answer.
Suppressed giggles echoed in the class causing Mr John to yell, "Silence. "
He cleared his throat after that deafening shout and turned to Dan again. "Now the question. What can you tell me about the properties of the Sacrona fruit? "
Dan almost laughed after hearing Mr. John's shout but managed to keep his face straight albeit barely.
He then asked Lang the same question in his head and after a few seconds, Dan gave his answer.
