"Nothing. "Dan shook his head, unable to find any information about how to measure the mana of a normal person. Nobody wanted to measure the mana of a normal person as it seemed to require some precious things which nobody wanted to waste.
But Lang did give him some information about his status. Since mana had to solidify to form a core, Lang had done some guesses on how much more mana Dan would require to form a core.
And the result wasn't something Dan liked. Dan would need at least ten times more mana to even think of creating a core.
A normal awakening happened between the ages of seventeen and nineteen which meant Dan only had a maximum of four years to grow his mana by at least ten times to even think of becoming a metahuman. Not a good situation to be in for Dan.
"Ah fuck. " Dan cursed. It was going to be hard for him to become a metahuman which was the sole thing that interested him in this world.
But like everything in life, there was a shortcut to becoming a metahuman too. But like every shortcut, it had its disadvantages and they were very big disadvantages.
First of all, came money. An obscene amount of money was required which Dan or even his new family didn't have.

And secondly, it was dangerous. A person using this shortcut had a fifty per cent chance of dying and a forty per cent chance of going into a coma. While the chance of becoming a metahuman was only ten per cent. So it was darn risky. A level of risk ninety-nine per cent of people wouldn't be willing to take.
But even without such danger, Dan had no money to be able to buy the material and the only material required to execute the shortcut, a mana core of a beast.
Mana cores were too rare. A beast, which was an animal that had mutated, had a very slight chance of forming a core. Not even one in a thousand formed a mana core.
But even if a best did have a mana core then they would be incredibly difficult to kill as beasts with mana cores were three to five times stronger than their coreless counterparts. Even missiles were futile against them.
So the high price of a mana core was understandable.
And it also had many other uses besides helping a person become a metahuman. Even metahumans could use it to increase their strength.
So, a mana core not oy attracted normal people but also metahumans too which increased a mana core's importance and price vastly.
So, Dan, a normal guy with not so rich family could only dream of getting a mana core.
Dan closed the laptop and got out of bed. He stood there with his eyes closed and went through Ian's memories again.
A bit later, Dan opened his eyes and walked towards the cabinet. He opened the door and peeked inside to see a small stack of clothes and a round brown object which Dan recognized as a piggy bank from Ian's memories.
Dan grabbed the piggy bank and then sat on the ground.
"Let's see how much you got. "Dan slammed the strange iteration of a piggy bank on the wooden floor, cracking it instantly and bright red coloured notes fell on the ground. There were a lot of them with a big five Zemos written on them.
Zemos seemed to be the currency of the Acacia continent with bills of five, ten and hundred Zemos in circulation.
Dan quickly counted everything to find around 670 Zemos. That wasn't substantial but not little either. And this saving was what Ian wanted to buy a new game with.
"Thank you, Dumbass. "Dan chuckled and put the money below the pillow on his bed and again sat in front of the laptop, ready to do more research.
Yes, he wasn't rich right now but he wasn't rich either when he was fifteen back in his world but he had become a millionaire by the time he was twenty.
So, he wasn't ready to give up on becoming a metahuman. He would find a way to make money whether it be legal or illegal.
