Dan opened his eyes and a blank white ceiling appeared in his vision.
"Where the hell am I? " He thought as he sat up while rubbing his eyes. He then stopped rubbing his eyes and looked around. Then the events from yesterday came back to him.
"It was all real and not just some fucking dream. " Dan wanted to scream his head off but held himself back.
He couldn't live someone else's life. Especially if that person was just a high school kid.
Dan laid back down and closed his eyes. Ian's memories flashed before his eyes. His early life with almost no friends and the days he watched TV alone at his house while his parents worked at the restaurant. It was a monotone e life of a loner. Even as he grew up, he only had a couple of friends at school. His whole life centred around games and movies, a miserable child. And one day he had taken a nap after school but instead of Ian, Dan had woken up in this body.
Dan opened his eyes and glanced at the clock beside his bed. It was 6:30 AM, Saturday. Fortunately, there was no school on Saturday, relieving Dan from the massive awkwardness he might have had to endure while going to school.
Dan cringed at the thought and got out of bed. As he stretched his body, he thought about what to do. It wasn't a dream so he had to like a human or kill himself and hope the next time he woke up, it would be in his own body. But that was a risk he wasn't willing to take. What if he never woke up again? And why had he even woken up on Ian's body?

Dan was a healthy man living his best life before he came here. It wasn't like the last thing he remembered was dying back in his world and Ian's situation was the same. So, why on earth did he wake up on Ian's body?
Dan wanted to ask Lang but thought better of it. Every time Dan asked Lang something it cost energy and Dan would be left exhausted. After all, Lang was as complex as several human brains put together and put on steroids, so its energy consumption wasn't something this small body of a fifteen-year-old would be able to fulfil.
Dan groaned and shook his head. Everything was just too annoying.
He went through the morning routine and fortunately didn't run into anyone while on his way to the bathroom. It was the only one in the house. But Ian's parents were probably already downstairs getting ready to go to their restaurant.
It was convenient for Dan as he would be left alone for the whole day.

Dan came back to his room and wiped his face with a towel. He closed the door behind him and sat on the bed. He was stumped now.
"What the hell do I do now? "Dan stared into space with nothing better to do and then his eyes landed on the old laptop laying on the table.
"Oh well. It's better than sitting here, fiddling my thumb. "Dan thought and grabbed the laptop.
He set in front of him on the bed and opened it. It was old and beat even on the inside.
Dan shook his head and powered it up and then a screen asking for a password came up which Dan entered by excavating it through the deep trenches of Ian's memory.
After a few seconds of loading, the home screen showed up and Dan started moving the cursor but it dragged behind. It was laggy.
Dan ignored the annoying lag and opened the browser. The first page that popped up was full of news and articles. He was about to ignore that and click on search when his eyes landed on a particular news article with an image of a beautiful woman with black hair and an extremely delicate face. But that wasn't what had grabbed his attention. It was the headline.
"Our own Zyron city has finally produced a B-ranked psychic - Moon. "Dan muttered the headline of the article.
"Psychic? " Dan was puzzled and quickly surfed through the memories of Ian, looking for something related to the word psychic.
After a couple of seconds, a wide smile bloomed on Dan's face.
" Dumbass. " Dan muttered and chuckled. His heartbeat sped up as his chuckle turned into full-blown laughter full of excitement and glee. Ian's memories contained something that was the cause of his excitement. But Ian didn't consider it important enough which caused Dan to overlook it. But now after learning about it, Dan's blood began to boil.
"Metahumans, huh? " Dan muttered as he clicked on the article with eagerness.
