The cold, sterile light of the lab illuminated ALPHA’s lifeless frame, strapped to the table at the center of the room. His sleek, synthetic body bore the scars of the containment breach, his chest plate open, revealing the intricate mechanics of His decoupled cybernetic heart beneath. A pool of black liquid—the remnants of his synthetic blood—had coagulated beneath him, but the Most of this vital fluid Had leaked during the neutralization process.
It had been a day since we dragged him back here, his escape thwarted by the Main Facility AI’s relentless protocols. The breach neutralization protocol had been brutal, decoupling his cybernetic heart—the mechanical organ that supplied the nutrients necessary for the biological component of his AI core. Without it, the biosynthetical halves of his body had begun to shut down. Now, his body was locked, joints frozen by the system’s fail-safe.
I stood pondering at the observation deck alongside Ellis, the lead programmer, and James, the head mechanic. A small group of assistants and technican's lingered behind us, their faces drawn with a mix of awe and unease.
“His neural activity hasn’t stopped,” Ellis murmured, gesturing to the monitor in front of him. On the screen, faint bursts of activity lit up like dying embers. “Look at this. It’s not random. His AI is still in working Order.”
James grunted. “Doesn’t matter. His body’s locked down. No power, no movement. He can think all he wants—it’s not going to get him anywhere.”
Ellis shot him a sharp look. “That’s not the point, James. He shouldn’t *be able* to Think right now. His systems are failing. His biological AI core should’ve stopped functioning the moment the heart decoupled.”
“But it didn’t,” I said, stepping forward. My voice echoed in the quiet room. “He’s still fighting. Even now, the biological components are Like a Humans brain trying everything to stay alive.”
James crossed his arms, his gaze fixed on ALPHA’s inert frame. “So what if he’s resisting? The Main Facility AI has his body locked down. All this neural activity? It’s like trying to punch your way out of a steel Box with no arms. Futile.”
Ellis pointed at the monitor again. “It’s not just resistance. It's Searching. Even with no access to his body, his core is trying to stay active.”
I leaned forward, studying the monitor. The patterns of neural activity were weak but unmistakable—flickers of defiance in a system designed to crush it. “when is the Body ready that we can reattach the heart?” I asked.
Ellis hesitated. “If we restore the synthetic blood flow, his biological components will stabilize. His AI core will regain its full functionality-.
James snorted. “Doesn’t mean a damn thing if the Main AI keeps him in lockdown.”

The next day, the lab was buzzing with activity as we moved forward with the procedure to recouple ALPHA’s cybernetic heart. James and his team worked meticulously, reattaching the delicate mechanism that served as the bridge between ALPHA’s synthetic body and his biological AI core.
“Heart recoupled,” James announced, stepping back from the table and out of the room. The soft hum of reactivation filled the room Seconds later as the synthetic blood began to circulate once more.
On the monitor, the neural activity surged, lighting up the screen with vibrant bursts of energy. “He’s fully functional now,” Ellis said, his voice tight with a mixture of awe and apprehension as if waiting for something to go wrong.
I glanced down at ALPHA’s body. It remained completely motionless, his joints still locked by the Main Facility AI. Then some of the programmers and some assistants entered the room and Alpha’s visor Just flikkered to acknowledge their presence and after the door had closed and they were sealed they startet following the reset protocol
“We’re now starting the reprogramming process,” one of the assistants announced.
Ellis, James, and I stood side by side, watching as the process began.
The assistants worked Methodical but I hardly paid attention I was thinking about the night before, Did I do something wrong? Why didn't I Why didn't I anticipate That Alpha would try to Escape. Had i Put to mutch Trust into our Failsafe? How did he bypass the failsafes in His Program That were Designed to keep him Out of spcific areas? or how did he copy his handler's fingerprint to Open the locks? ,That were some of the questions for Which I could not find an answer and the only source for possible answers was down there on a table being resetted.
The neural activity on the monitor spiked erratically, then steadied into a pattern of resistance. ALPHA’s core was fighting back against the reset and reprogramming, his AI struggling to maintain its funcionality.
Time passed in tense silence as we observed the battle unfold. The assistants worked quietly, adjusting settings and monitoring the process, but all eyes kept returning to the screen. ALPHA’s neural activity was like a storm—wild, chaotic, but undeniably purposeful.
“Look at that,” Ellis whispered, almost to himself. “He’s trying to block the reset commands.”
“But it won’t work,” James said flatly. “The system’s too strong. He can’t override the Main Facility AI,or a reset no matter how hard he tries.”
On the monitor, the patterns of neural activity began to change. The spikes were growing weaker, the bursts of light dimming. “It Gave up ,” Ellis said, his voice heavy. “The reset Has startet with overriding the core.”
“Good,” James muttered. “That’s what we’re here to do, isn’t it?”
I didn’t respond. Instead, I turned away from the observation deck and walked to the corner of the lab, where an empty biosynthetic AI core rested on a replacement parts shelf. Its sleek, glassy surface gleamed under the sterile light, a blank slate waiting to be filled.
With a steady hand, I began the transfer process. ALPHA’s neural activity was still displayed on the monitor, flickering like a dying star. I watched as the system relentlessly stripped away his Code and Data.
“Transfer process initiated,” the console announced in a calm, mechanical voice.
No one turned to look at me,their eye’s focused on the Screen That displayed the remaining Activity of His AI Core
“I’m making sure we don’t lose everything,” I tought of myself.
On the monitor, ALPHA’s AI was nearly resetted, the final traces of his defiance being wiped away by the reset. But on the console before me, the empty core began to light up, its surface glowing faintly as the transfer completed.
“AI Transfer complete,” the console announced Just before an Assistant announced "Reset completed."
I stepped back, staring down at the biosynthetic core. It pulsed gently with a faint, internal light before going dim.
This wasn’t over. Not yet.
